Sorry for missing yesterday's QOTD. Little man was sick with a stomach bug (appears to be over now thank goodness!)...

What is your favorite season and why?

I'd have to say that spring is one of mine because the weather is starting to warm up and it is easier to get outside and do things. Plus I love to see the flowers bloom. Fall takes second place, then summer, and winter being a dead last. smile.gif

Definitely summer because our schedule is less-structured and I don't have to bundle up. I LOVE wearing sandals and shorts!!!!

Oh yes....summer!

No preparations before heading out of the door...no boots lined up by the back door....no salt residue all over my van. Summer all the way!!! Shorts, sandals, bbq's, swimming, open windows with gentle breezes, a GOOD thunderstorm here and there....can you tell I love summer?

Then it's spring, fall, and the dreaded winter.

Coming from Montreal, I am obviously a summer-lover! The Jazz Festival, the warm weather, the sunshine, the ability to wear sandals as opposed to snowboots - how can anyone resist! Spring and fall are lovely, too, although we tend to not have much of a spring because of the occasional ill-timed snowstorm (like in May!) As for w****r, perhaps the less said, the better.

I love the summer time. In Atlanta, it gets rather hot, even for a summer lover, but I still prefer that season of the year, then fall in Atlanta, spring and winters are pretty mild here so I don't mind them at all.

I like the summer time because I love short skirts and dresses, floral outfits and just the basic summer type clothing. I like not having to fuss about so many accessories in the summer.

See.. now I have to disagree with all of you! I absolutely LOVE winter! Its the prettiest! All the snow glistening on the trees, the icicles hanging everywhere, the days off from school.. (well when I was that age anyways)! The tunnels you could make in the snow piles, the snowmen, the snowball fights.. and of course the hot cocoa when you come inside!

Second, I would have to say fall.. I love all the leaves changing colors and falling in the streets, its a beautiful site driving down some roads! And the joys of not sweating from the horrible heat and humidity! And being able to only wear a sweater to go outdoors!

Third would be spring.. because everything starts to blume and get pretty again.. And last would be summer. Being from the Midwest, I don't always like summer.. because of the unreal heat and humidity. But I like camping, swimming, etc. etc.. you know all those summer activites. And who knows, maybe when I can wear some of those great summer clothes I may change my mind.. But I won't hold my breath!

Have a great day!

I'm definatly a spring and summer kind of gal. I can still wear my sandals and lightweight clothes. I love the mornings, to sit outside and have my coffee. I've always loved winter but by this time of the year I would not pick it as my favorite season.

This is a difficult question 'cause I love being off of school in the summer. And for that reason, summer gets my vote. However, if that weren't a factor, summer would not be a favorite. I love fall. I love to watch the leaves turn colors, and the cool crispness in the air! I love high school football season and starting to wear sweaters! I just love the feelings of all ( and OK, maybe I also like the feelings of the start of the new school year and the new beginnings!) ;)

I love autumn! I love the way the leaves look on the trees, and the way the air smells. And I love the first day that I smell a chimney...very, very cheesy, I know, but alas, very, very true!

Winter runs a very close second...I've never cared for spring or summer, just because of the bright HOT weather.

Growing up in southern California, I always loved autumn because it represented the end of the super-hot days. And my birthday is in autumn. And for some reason, I always loved the Santa Ana winds. I would run home from school with the wind in my face, and I would push against it. And I love halloween. I also loved the quality of light in autumn evenings. And I always loved school, so autumn meant going back to school.
Nowadays, being in Oregon, I think I'm beginning to appreciate spring!

I love wearing sweatshirts, so I'd have to say Fall, followed closely by Spring, then Summer. Winter used to be my favorite, but I'm getting sick of driving in snow.

Definitely Fall as well. Cool enough to wear something if you need it, not so hot that you're miserable, and the leaves changing in New England is one of the few reasons I still live here. ;) I could do without winter or summer, but have yet to find a place that has Fall 12 months of the year. ;)

Autumn, or Fall as some of you call it! I love all the leaves on the ground, the warm summery days and the chilly nights. Plus you can wear a long sleeved top with a little mini, and it just works!

Summer is and has always been my favorite time of year. growing up in SE conn..near Long Island Sound and surrounded by the ocean and beaches...well I can't think of anything more relaxing! I now live just about 20 minutes from the beach and I can't wait to get there!
No coats...no pantyhose or socks! walking in the neighborhood in the evening with friends.......
I am counting down the days

Normally I'd say Fall...The colours, the crisp air and the falling leaves.

But after this winter....oops it might still snow here...I'm slowly becoming a Spring person. Oh, yes...give me Spring and let it be NOW! :D

It has to be summer. I think I still associate it with summer vacation. But just love the fact that it stays light out longer, and not wearing hose--that is a plus.

I would say spring is second--the reawakening of the land, but I hate the mud--and how awful everything looks after the snow melts!

My favorite season is - whatever season it is! smile.gif
Every season has it charms and drawbacks. So I just enjoy what the season has to offer.

Living where I live I prefer the weather in this order: Spring, Fall, Winter, Summer this works for us in this part of Florida. Winter was hard for us this year but it's still better than that nasty old humid summer...

WEll.... some background...
I grew up in VT and I've lived in FL the last five years.

I don't like the cold weather down in FL as I have adjusted to the warm weather.

I miss the "nostalgia" associated with snow/winter esp at Christmas in VT.. But I don't miss the cold.. When I had family still up there, I would go "home" for Christmas and never get warm! Oh, I can still feel my feet throbbing.

So In FL, as I said, I don't like the cold as I'm really sensitive to it(maybe from losing all the weight)but I do like it when it rains or is overcast. I DONT' like to drive in the rain and certainly don't like Hurricanes!

Hello
I'm definitely a Summer girl from way back. I spent a lot of time at Cape Cod beaches when I was a kid. I love the hot weather.
I'm strange but I actually like going to FL in summer even though the humidity is high.

Always summer. That's why I moved to Sarasota 9 yrs ago. I just wish I could get thin enough to go to the beach.

Spring !!!
Because it represents new life and a growing time .
As in life there is always a season to have new life and learn to grow again.

Much like Launa - I prefer SPring - renews my hope in humanity because everything is getting a fresh start and new possibilities abound smile.gif Fall is my second favorite because it relieves the heat of summer (which just kills me) and it's my Birthday Season smile.gif

Either way - I'm happy for each and every day smile.gif
