Mornin' buddies graemlins/wave.gif I managed to make it on a bit sooner this a.m. tho don't have a lot of time since I need to get ready for church & get breakfast here soon. We have had rain here for 2 days now. Don't know what today is supposed to be like but yesterday even tho it wasn't hot sure was humid. I finally broke down last night & turned the a/c back on just to get rid of some of the humidity in the house. I can't decide whether to turn it off this a.m. or not. It feels a little cooler out but I think it's still very damp.
The guys had a very good day fishing yesterday. DH said it only drizzled a couple of times so they didn't get as much rain where they were as we did. And....for the first time they placed! They got 2nd place yesterday and won $70! You know they were excited about that. I was with Mama & my sister all a.m. After they picked me up early tongue.gif we went to a yard sale at the Catholic church(indoors)on our way to breakfast. After breakfast I went to Wal-Mart with them. Got some of the things I needed but not everything since Mama's car isn't all that big & with 3 of us buying... Didn't do much in the afternoon. Went to Applebee's for supper with DH's brother/sister-in-law. Then we decided to hit another Wal-Mart & I finished up. Since we'd forgotten to get a newspaper while we were out, we walked to 7-11 after we got in from WM.
Chouchi hope you're continuing to feel better today. These "bugs" seem to be attacking early this year. A lot of stuff is going around here, too it seems. I know you're enjoying the fruits of your labor in your flower garden. The colors sound lovely. I used to have mums in the fall but don't even have any of them anymore. Hope you & your DH can enjoy the time he has off this week.
Susan have you thawed out yet??? Being that cold I don't know how you even were able to concentrate on what the speaker was saying  Glad you had a good time. And at least you were dry, right?? Got a good walk in to boot! Mama & my sister are going on a retreat this coming week-end.
Judy sure hope you're feeling better now. Allergies can know you for a loop sometimes. How was the bowling Fri. night?
Sue miss hearing from you. Hope you're having a relaxing week-end.
Fay you are doing so well. Hope your week-end is going great.
Hazel hope you had a good time at the awards dinner yesterday.
Guess we'll all be moving kinda slow today since we're all tired.(DH & DS got up at 4:30 yesterday to go fishing) Won't be in the gym till this evening most likely. Hope everybuddy has a great OP Sunday smile.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Morning all!
It's looking a bit threatening out this am, and is muggy. I have the door open, and am listening to the Canada geese smile.gif
TOday's the auditions for the Nutcracker. This begins the insanity. tongue.gif The girls are all excited, tho, which is what is important in the whole thing. I would like to find out if they are still performing at the place they did the first one last year-- almost 2 hours from here, we stayed at a hotel and didn't sleep all night because it was SO loud (teens running around unsupervised) and there were only 50 people in the audience (I think we had over 100 backstage!) but I don't know when we get the performance list. I think that comes in 2 weeks. Sigh.
It's good to be home. I really missed DH while I Was gone. He leaves Wednesday to BIKE to the men's retreat-- 145+ miles
I managed to stay out of the kitchen this weekend, other than filling my waterbottle 2x (the other times they had a water cooler out) showing them how to grind the GOOD coffee, (Dunkin donuts) and looking at the ingredients list on 2 things they served for breakfast yesterday. THey had asked for a few volunteers to help, but I was off gabbing and didn't hear the request... i didn't want to get sucked in anyway, LOL.
Pat, that's great that your guys placed 2nd. I didn't realize these fishing expiditions of theirs were competitions. I thought it was just father/son time! Glad you got your shopping done, even if it took a couple trips. Good to have that out of the way, huh? I'm back to having delivery done. :D I do need to get to CVS today for a couple items that the delivery place doesn't carry (like the RIGHT deoderant LOL) but it's nice to not have to face the WHOLE list .... worth the $4 delivery fee to me!!!(Spoiled, huh?)
Hope you're feeling better, Chouchi. Your flowers sound lovely. I don't have many fall blooming plants, tho I usually buy a couple potted mums every year. (have some by the front steps right now, but plan to buy more next week)
How are your allergies this weekend, Judy? Mine aren't too bad, and I even forgot to take my claratin yesterday! Maybe Maine is a bit behind MA in pollen? <G> I managed enough water while I was gone, even with missing your reminders-- got 9-10 each day. After my 5 mi walk Friday, I guzzled 30 oz of water. I was PARCHED (didn't help that i'd had ham the night before and sausage at breakfast) Got 10 in yesterday too! My friends at the retreat were teasing me about my drinking problem. :D
While I was at camp, a woman I have a slight aquaintance with thru camp was trying to talk me into the south beach diet. I know several people who have lost 10+ lbs on it in a short time, but it scares me. SOunds to Atkins-like to me, and I LIKE WW... plus DH does WW with me, so tho I am curious about current research in diets, I plan to stick to what WORKS. I do think I have to be better about limiting carbs... once the corn isn't in season anymore . LOL Just don't want to give up that fresh corn on the cob every night!! (yes, I plan for it!) I'm craving a bagel big time this am, but am wishing I'd ordered some wheat ones. Sigh.
ANyway, have a great OP day all. I hope to be in the gym later. My blister is healing, and I don't know what the weather will be thisafternoon, so Imay end up with another rest day.

Afternoon Buddies, it's a little drier today and the sun is out a little now. I'm feeling a little better although now I have a productive cough, which is very annoying to me and those around me. I did bowled Friday nite and it was really warm in the center I drank all the water I brought w/me and started in on DH's-- he was not amused. I think the decongestant makes me thirstier as well as the antihistamine. I was moving slow saturday morning but still went to aerobics class-- just did 45 minutes instead of the full hour. It felt good to work up a good sweat tho. At WI saturday morning I was down 1.5! That was pretty exciting for me b/c this was the 1st week I did flexpoints and I had used all my APs and a little under 20 flexpoints.
Pat glad you had a nice time in Dutch country, and I'll keep that play in mind if I see my church offering a trip. Was the Hersey amusement park still open? It's sorta like Busch Gardens. Congrats to DH and DS on their placement in the fishing competition. What did they catch? Do they use spincast rods? Bloodworm bait? As the only girl in my immediate family I've done a lot of fishin' in my day smile.gif
Susan it's a good thing you had some warm clothing, huh? I'm glad you had so much fun. That was an excellent walk you did, and sure glad that 57 yrs old was able to keep up with you  You did very well on getting in your water. I'm very impressed with your "drinking problem." graemlins/thumbup.gif
Chouchi your fall flowers sound wonderful. All your hard work is paying off in beautiful blooms now. 2 graemlins/thumbup.gif DH is on a mission for a good looking lawn so he used a spray weedkiller last week in another week or so he'll mown, aerate, spread composite and re-seed and finally in a month after that fertlize. Next year we should be the envy of the neighborhood :D
Faylene big congrats on your 4 lbs loss! You're doing so well. graemlins/bcbsalute.gif Yeah this weekend in the Wash. Meto area was definitely a bust weatherwise, and the traffic on 95 is pretty snarled going south near the Springfield, VA "mixing bowl" construction. graemlins/crazy.gif Sounds like Pat group's ran into some of that traffic too. Most of the locals around here use 301 south to get around that section and get back on 95 near Pat's area closer to Richmond. That section will be under construction for at least another year or 2. The Springfield "mixing bowl" is infamous for the accidents caused by the design and infrastructure of the highway-- so it had to be radically changed and it has been years in the works and in cost overruns. No one going south on 95 has been spared the congestion and traffic slowdowns in that area.
Sue and everyone else hope you're having a great OP Sunday and remembering your water.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
It is so hot again today. The heat really drags me down. I am hoping it will cool off this week. Last week it was cool but nice. My Marigolds love the cooler weather as well and they are thriving. I have over 100 marigold plants in full bloom in my front yard. I have four colors with each plant having at least 3-4 flowers. I love gardening. I am feeling so-so today. The headache seems to be less bothersome. Even my joints are feeling a bit better. I am so sleepy though.
Pat You are up and going early today. Congrats to DH and DS taking 2nd place. They must have been thrilled. There was a shark derby here yesterday and I forgot all about it. I like going to check out the catches. There is always next year.
Susan Welcome back! We had a flock of Canada Geese fly over our house and they were extremely low. They were heading for the lake. Other than the cool temps sounds like you had a nice time. It must have been nice to have someone else cook for a change. Lucky you were in conversation elsewhere when they were looking for volunteers. I need to adopt your "drinking problem" as lately I have NOT been getting my water in the way I should be. Wow, DH has quite a bike trip ahead of him. Hope your blister heals quickly. The $4 charge is certainly worth it considering they do the shopping and delivering. Do they put it away for you as well? ;) tongue.gif :D
Judy Congratulations on the loss! graemlins/thumbup.gif You are doing great. I have the productive cough as well that strikes when I lie down to sleep at night, when I am in certain stores, it is very annoying especially when it strikes in the middle of a conversation. I have increased my inhalations of Bricanyl for the next few months as well as Pulmicort and the Nasonex. I also take allergy meds that is probably why I am so sleepy. I love the Fall but it comes with decaying leaves, dampness etc. So much mold growth right now. That was good you were able to go bowling and get to your aerobics class.
Faylene, Sue, Hazel Hope you all had a great weekend.
Everyone have a wonderful day!
Here is a web-site for anyone wanting to check out the South Beach Diet. I personally feel it is far too restrictive.
