Afternoon buddies graemlins/wave.gif I got off to a bit of a slow start this a.m. Slept till about 7 and then Mama & my sister picked me up early for breakfast so I didn't have much time this a.m. DH & DS are fishing today so I needed a ride to breakfast. Afterwards my sister offered to take me to Wal-Mart since she needed to go, too. Mama decided to go with us so by the time I got home & got stuff put away, it was lunch time. Got lunch out of the way & then needed to make a jello salad for tomorrow's dinner and some pudding & the jello/yogurt mix for me. I was all out & I like to have both of those around for a snack or to top off lunch.

We had a very nice trip but I am tired. Got up at 4 Thurs. The bus pulled out about 6:10 & we kept pretty much on schedule for the whole trip. I read a couple of books on the bus ride. When we got there they put us in one room & took our luggage to another. It was frantic there for a bit as Mama needed meds to take before we left for the play & dinner. Finally we got the word we were in the wrong room so we had to move up a floor. But they'd given us the wrong key as it's a security card to open the door. Anyway Mama got her meds & then we got back on the bus to head over to the play. " Daniel " was something to behold! If you ever get the chance to go to Lancaster to Sight & Sound, the plays are magnificent. Afterwards we had dinner family style at Hershey Farms. Those Pennsy Dutch sure do know how to cook. I didn't even try to keep pts while away but hopefully I didn't go way overboard. More than I'm used to that's for sure but maybe it'll shock my system, huh?? Yesterday we toured the Hershey choc. co. & had lunch there. We were due back about 6 p.m. and didn't make it till nearly 9. Needless to say, we were all tired. The traffic was horrible & for a long stretch of I-95 it was at a crawl. Rain most of the way back, too. DH said it rained here all day yesterday. And it's been that way most of today, too. graemlins/ugh.gif

Chouchi hope you're feeling better. You've had more than your share this year. Glad to hear DS's meds will be available soon. Hopefully he'll adjust to them without a problem.

Judy hope you were able to bowl last night & get to your aerobics class this a.m. I know it's hard to get yourself going when you're a bit under the weather. Feel better soon, buddy.

Hazel hope you enjoy the dinner tonight. It's nice they do that for the employees.

Fay a big CONGRATS on your loss this week! That is just super :D Keep doing what works is how I look at it.

Susan hope you had a nice time at your retreat. We all need to get away & get refreshed & recharged from time to time I think.

Not much else going on here today. I can't seem to get up enuf energy to walk today. Might just be the cardioglide tonight. Hope everybuddy has a great OP Saturday smile.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I didn't think I would make it here at all today. I've been trying to log-on but was told that my name was invalid. I tried sending an email to Denise and that came back invalid address. I was getting extremely worried. Then I decided to shut everything down and reboot and it worked. Should have thought of that this morning. graemlins/ugh.gif
It is so hot out today feels like the middle of August. I have the AC on high. My Glads are in bloom they are so beautiful. I ended up with peach, red, orange with yellow, yellow with orange, and yellow. It surprised me that I had so many colors and plants. I will be taking them up next month and planting my Fall bulbs. Last year they didn't come up and I was disappointed. I am hoping that maybe this year the Daffodils may show. I'm still not up to par. I think it is a bug of some sort. Achy, headache on one side ( think it's a migraine) it could be my allergies along with a bug with the leaves falling and
decaying.

Pat Nice to see you back. I tried to open this AM. :( You had a wonderful couple of days and very busy at that. I don't think I would have cared for my luggage being separated from me especially when there are meds that need to be taken. A tour of Hershey's...I'm afraid the temptation would be too much for me. I love chocolate.

Judy I hope you are feeling better today. How did the bowling go last evening? I would be careful trying to do to much until you are feeling well again.

Faylene Congratulations on a whopping 4lb loss. That is wonderful! I agree with Pat whatever works for you. graemlins/thumbup.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Hazel Enjoy your dinner.

Susan Hope the weather has been nice and you are feeling rejuvenated.

I must get going I have to get clothes ready for donations.

Everyone have a great evening! smile.gif

Evening all!
I was on here a bit ago, but my internet access crashed. We had had a popup ad blocker installed, and the free trial expired. While I was on, before it crashed, I had 9 NINE stinkin' pop ups. Used to be that once ONE came up on here the same one didn't come up again, unless you closed it... i had 2 repeats...
sigh
Then when doing a search for pop up blocker software, the Norton internet security we already used came up. I wondered, why isn't it blocking? Well, DUH, because I didn' thave it set to! Well, no need to buy $40 software when what I already own can do it, right?
Sorry, Denise, the pop ups drive me INSANE,and as several are things we don't otherwise allow on our computer (like the gel one) I was not comfortable having them there as ads.
Anyway
I had an awesome retreat. It was dry, beautiful, but VERY cold at night, and we are in a pavillion for the talks that is like a big barn, but is nowhere near airtight-- the wind rushes through. last night at the evening talk and the skits following, I was in a long sleeve shirt, heavy sweatshirt, winter coat zipped with hood on, gloves, and wrapped in a fleece sleeping bag, and I was STILL frozen. (I'm guessing it was 37-40, based on the temps I saw online, but sitting was COLD) THe talks were good, I learned a lot, and feel recharged.
Yesterday my friend that went with me and I went for a walk with a dear friend from another church in MA. She is a speaker at ladies events, but was not speaking at this one. She's worked with me in the kitchen... she's 57. ANyway, we walked 5 MILES, the 2 1/2 to our waterfront (where the boat accident was) and then 2 1/2 back. we were so caught up in our discussion I didn't realize how far we'd gone. It was great, but I got a blister on the bottom of my left foot. We did 5 mi in an hour and 10 min. Awesome time!! (that's better than 4 mph!! I read the other day that 3 mph is moderate, and 4 mph is FAST for walking) The 57 yr old is training for the Boston Marathon, but this summer she pulled a hamstring, and can't run yet. I actually walked faster than her <G> but that was on a hill... we had lots of fun.
I had some trouble there with the meals. Yesterday for lunch they served Tuna salad, egg salad and ham salad, and veggie soup (and chips) Now, even if I wasn't being a good buddy, I can't eat those things, due to my food allergies/intolerances. Mayo has been off my diet for about 7-8 years, and I can't eat carrots, so the soup was out... so I went to the store and got a veggie salad with FF dressing <bwg>
Then this am, they served pancakes, bacon and sausages, and danishes. Well, once again, I was EXTREMELY limited- I had a sausage (they were home made and were actually *lite*) and then had some grapes I bought yesterday with my salad. That was it!! Lunch was a chicken ceasar salad on the way home with dressing on the side (and no croutons, can't have them either) and 2 Stella Doro Anisette sponge cookies. My diet is getting weirder and weirder, and I don't mean diet as weight loss plan, but rather as what I am able to eat! LOL Having a reaction to soy products AND hydrogenated (or partially) oils REALLY limits me, if I don't want to get sick.
I didn't get much sleep the 2 nights I was gone, so am heading off to bed early! See y'all tomorrow for coffee!
