Morning all.
I'm surprised Im the first one in. I even took care of most of my email before logging in... where is everyone? hope you are all SLEEPING! LOL
What a day yesterday was. It was gorgeous out, and I didn't have a headache. Got my ST workout in in the am, bike ride in the pm, and got lots of sewing done (a cloak and ahalf plus 2 dresses)
BUT
In the morning, the princess' mom called, saying her eye was swollen shut, did I want her there. (think I already posted about that?) she went to the Dr at 10:30, it was conjunctivitis in BOTH eyes, an ear infection, AND a sinus infection. So she wasn't coming at all!!!
THEN the youngest daycare kid arrived very fussy. Mom thought it was teething, but she got REALLY sleepy, and fell asleep on my while I Was online. She slept for an hour, but still barely made it thru lunch without falling asleep... then slept for 3 1/2 hours! When she woke up she was burning up, so I took her temp and it was 102 under her arm, and i didn't even wait for the beeper on the thermometer, which means it MAY have been higher!!
Needless to say I had to wash anything she touched-- thankfully it wasn't much because she slept so much! and I sprayed lysol everywhere.
Of course, now I have to worry that one or the other of these kids will have passed their germs on to me and my kids, not to mention the rest of the daycare kids.
Why do I always get this stuff right before vacation??? I KNOW I'm gonna end up sick at the retreat-- I usually do because it's usually cold and wet. It's supposed to be dry, but lows of mid 40s, and those cabins aren't air tight, nor insulated, and heat is a foreign concept at camp. Guess I should start drinking more tea. THis month's Prevention said people who drank 10 cups of tea a day were never sick. LOL Of course, they prob don't sleep either!
Ok, I'm gonna post this and come back and do personals and more...

Ok, the reason I posted without finishing was on the offhand chance that Pat was here too, and she isn't . Hmmmm...she's running VERY late!
I weighed myself today, a day early because I wont beable to post results tomorrow, even tho Im gonna WI tomorrow (Im leaving by about 8 am and wont be online first) I am back down what I gained the past 2 weeks! :D I'm surprised, because when I hopped on the scale 2 days ago, it was NOT telling me nice things.
How was dinner last night Pat? Hope you have a great trip with your mom tomorrow!
Hazel, you're right about the machines at curves being able to cause a gain. ANy new exercise can, because muscle weighs more per inch than fat does. ALso when you first start using a set of muscles, they retain a lot of fluid to help them *heal* from the exercise. I've read it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to have that turn around. Most places say 2 weeks, but I know that the Body for Life book said 6...just not sure in what context now, since it's been about 2 years since I read it.
I dont think anyone spread pink eye last year, Judy. I know this same kid had it last winter, and ONE daycare kid got it, but the other 3 didn't. We did have a nasty chest congestion virus that the daycare kids spread last year in Aug... it gave me and oldest DD bronchitis and DH pneumonia. I'm struggling with the allergies too. Tis the season, I guess! April and Sept are always bad for me.
WOw Faylene, walking 6 mi? Is that over the course of the day, like wearing a pedometer all day long, or are you heading out and walking that far in addition to any walking around the house? Either way, I'm impressed! I know I walk an average of 6-7 mi at camp every day, without heading out to exercise, and I'm always exhausted!
I talked to the neighbor yesterday and he DID get the job offer from NJ, but hasn't decided what to do about it yet. :( I was REALLY hoping that he hadn't. I know he had a local interview last Thurs, has another one either today or tomorrow, and went to a job fair yesterday. Sigh. I guess this is just an opportunity to bump up my prayer life! I don't want them to move, tho I know they will do what is best for them. The mom doesn't want to move at all, and I'm sure that weighs heavily with Dad. She likes her new job, the neighborhood, having the kids in my daycare, and their church. Now if only Dad could get a job! tongue.gif
I'm gonna be going for a walk thisafternoon. It's only 50 degrees out right now, and that's a mite too chilly for the daycare Boy (he was complaining last week when it was over 60 when we went out!) I used my early morning time for laundry AGAIN, had to get it done before I go away tomorrow (needed clothes to pack LOL)
Have a great OP day all

Mornin' budddies graemlins/wave.gif and Susan I'd love a cup of coffee! I had blood work done again this a.m. which meant no breakfast beforehand. So I just fixed enuf coffee for DH to have a cup. I might have a cup of tea later. I had to go out with DH this a.m. so I'd have a ride to dr. without having to ask Mama since I had to be there at 7:30. But DH took me by the ATM first so I'd have some cash for my trip. Still had about a 20 min wait before the dr office opened. And I was supposed to call Mama to come get me when I was thru but she showed up to get her BP checked again so I didn't have to call. Hopefully the sodium levels will be back up this time.

Susan this doesn't seem to be a good week for your DCKs. First pink eye & then a high fever? Hope the Lysol did the trick & none of your family gets sick...you included! Not a welcome thing on a retreat...or afterwards either for that matter. You mentioned that Uncle Tom was still there. What happened to the living arrangements from his job? Is he working at the shoe store? Just being nosy  Congrats on being back down with the scales today. Mine aren't any better so since I've got a lot to do with going off tomorrow I decided not to go to my meeting this a.m. Besides, I hated to ask Mama to come back over & get me. I hate putting people out.

Judy we're getting spoiled with this nice weather. Guy said yesterday that summer isn't over yet but the next week sure looks good. We're having a lot of clouds but not much precip. Yesterday I had a sweatshirt on all day & I've got one on now!

Hazel how did WI go? Exercising does tend to make a difference in the beginning. Glad you're enjoying Curves.

Fay sounds like things are going great for you right now. Keep it up good buddy! Good luck at your WI on Fri.

Chouchi & Sue miss y'all yesterday. Hope things are going ok for you.

I just put the 3rd load of laundry in the dryer. Yesterday I got the mini muffins made for the trip & they look really yummy. I've still got to pack but that hopefully won't take long since it's just overnight. I just might even get out & take a walk since it's so nice out.

Dinner was very nice last night at my sister's. We always have a good time when we get together. Afterwards we went to see DS play ball. They won both games...yeah And they ended up city-wide champions in the church league! First play-off game is Thurs p.m.(and I miss it :( ) After the games we had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up a couple of things so it was late when we got home.

DS got a packet of forms to fill out from Sen Allen to get a nomination to the Naval Academy. Has to be postmarked by Oct. 1 so he's got to hustle to get it done. Today he meets with the recruiter from NROTC at lunchtime. Don't know if that'll finish that process up or not. I think he still has to send his essay in. So much paperwork to keep up with...it's mind boggling graemlins/crazy.gif

I'll be in the gym later. Hope everybuddy has a great OP Wednesday smile.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Good Morning Everyone,

It is a beautiful day. Sun shining really nice and Fallish. What a day I had yesterday. I had to go to my Dad's to clean and get his shopping done for him. Then DH and I decided to go for a drive we had Shelby with us as well. The little drive turned out to be over eight hours long but it was beautiful we for a drive in the country. Shelby never seen a horse before and she wanted to go "play" with it.lol She must have thought it was a very "big dog". Turns out we didn't get home until late last evening and I was exhausted so I had a shower and went to bed. I am still tired this morning. My back is aching as well the Dr said it was from the meds I just stopped. Nothing seems to help it so she must be right. I will be happy when they are out of my system.
I've a busy day planned for today. I've got some sewing to do, then go and pay the cable, phone and electric bill. They've also messed up my fuel bill. I pay direct from my account and they've been sending me the bills. They are in the process of merging with another company and this must be some of the fallout. I am going into the city to straightened that out as well. Shopping for a few sweaters and jeans for DS. Finally grocery shopping then home sweet home.

Susan Conjunctivitis is something you definitely don't want spread around. The poor little Princess must be feeling rather uncomfortable with all the infections she is experiencing. It's so hard when little one's are ill.
Hope you stay healthy while you are away, have you tried herbal teas like echinachea (sp?)? The retreat sounds wonderful. My SIL goes on the woman's retreat with her Church every year as well as her husband. Enjoy your time away. Congrats on the loss!!

I will be back later today to finish posting as I see Pat and Faylene.

I'm back.lol

Pat I hope all your results come back on a positive side for you. I know how you feel about asking for drives. I had to do that as well and when you are used to jumping in your own car and going it's even harder. It won't be long before you will be driving again. DS has been good no seizure's. I am still going to call his Neurologist though because I am supposed to reduce the Topamax by another 100mg per day.
I hope you and your Mama have a wonderful trip together. Sounds like your DS has some running around to do with the mountain of paperwork he has to have done before the deadline.

Faylene Way to go with program. You are really doing great. graemlins/thumbup.gif

Judy The shingles have cleared finally. The ant bite is still swelled and red, however, the pain has settled. It must be healing. It was very sad seeing our house going down the street. It was like I was losing a part of me it was our first home together and we designed it ourselves. Even the land is changing it will be a parking lot. It brought to mind the Big Yellow Taxi Song by Joni Mitchell.

Mehadable It would sure be nice to see you and I hope all is well.

Sue & Hazel Enjoy your day!

I must get moving if I want to get all my errands run today. Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone graemlins/wave.gif Well, WI was 1 pound gain. Thanks for all your advice regarding a gain when first exercising. I will not dwell on the gain then. Everything else is going well. Today the office girls want to take me to lunch for a belated Bday. So, I will use some of my flex points today! Other than that nothing else new. Tonight, bussing at Angies Italian Cuisine. Have a great day everyone.

Evening Buddies, quik post today. The weather is really nice-- a little cooler. My allegeries/sinus miseries forced me to take a decongestant today.

Susan I guess I wasn't clear--I meant the DCKs not your kids regarding the "pink eye" last year, so I think we're referring to the same thing. Have a good time at the retreat, and congrats on your good WI this week.

Pat have fun on your trip w/ Mama and Co. to PA. I use to go w/my Mom and her church Sr. group called the "AGAPES" we would stay at a place called Host Farm, shop at the Dutch country farmers market and bazaar and see a play later in the evening. I hope the weather holds up for you all. DS got a congressional sponsor for the naval academy that's good news, congrats. I'm confused I thought DS and Son-in-Law has already won the church league championship earlier this summer or is this a different team? Hope your sodium level is okay.

Chouchi so glad to hear DS had a good day w/o seizures. You sound like your "old" self again, busy, busy. That drive sounded lovely and just what the dr. ordered smile.gif

Faylene good job on being 100% OP and good luck on your WI. I'm sending some skinny vibes your way.

Sue and everyone else hope you are having an OP day. H20 every buddy.

Judy
