Mornin' buddies...so hard to believe here it is the end of August already. And I keep forgetting that Monday is Labor Day since it's so early this year. The heat is still very oppressive here. Even last night it was like smothering. I'm just no good when it's like that.
Susan glad you were able to get the check situation(at least one of them)settled. It is so embarrassing when that happens...esp. if the funds are supposed to be there. Hope it doesn't affect your account. It would be so nice if the dad there would get a good job locally since the girls seem to have adjusted to you so well. I guess you were excited about your gang coming home yesterday. Hope they had a good time. I haven't heard any more from DD so I'm assuming they've been busy having fun as well. They're due back today so hopefully we'll see them at the cook-out tonight. You mentioned your nieces going to Catholic school this year. My DDs went for 2 yrs and they were the easiest 2 yrs of my life while they were in school. The uniforms are wonderful. No more changing clothes umpteen times before going out.(my girls were bad about that) And the education was great(tho they'd been in Christian school before the education at the Catholic school was much better)since they had grade levels so my accelerated DD had others on the same level as her. Then we moved to the county & the county schools have levels too so my honors kids could be challenged & my average one did ok, too. I'm glad tho that this is DS's last yr tho he seems to have weathered the pressures pretty well so far.
Hazel enjoy your long week-end and have fun at the concert. Is that like a bus trip or are you going by yourself?
Chouchi glad you are beginning to feel better. Hopefully you are adjusting somewhat to the meds. Yesterday must've been cleaning day. I worked in our bedroom. We have a desk in there that catches everything. I'm trying to learn to throw away sooner, too. I've got a whole stack of stuff that needs to be shredded and some to be filed. It's nice that your DS was able to finish school and can work. I'm sure that makes him feel much better, too. Found out that it was bagworms on my spruce tree. Mama went to the feed & seed store yesterday and got some stuff to spray on it & DH sprayed it good last night. Man at the store said we should be able to save the tree. I'm so glad as Mama & Daddy gave me that tree.
Sue glad you are getting some much needed rain. We had such a wet spring & good part of the summer after a drought last yr. No lack of water around here this yr. Enjoy the cooler temps for me!
Fay good to hear from you again. Sounds like the family is doing better. Please take care of yourself smile.gif
Well, today I'll be busy getting ready for the cook-out. Have to go to the bread store to restock on the 1 pt buns and then to Wal-Mart. My sister & I decided to wait on the presents tho we are getting a cake. We're gonna try to go out together Fri night(actual bd)and give her gifts then so her birthday won't seem like a letdown.
Yesterday I ended up calling DS's GF's cellphone. DS "forgot" to call me when he got there & was "unavailable" on his phone. Gf's sister said he was there so I didn't talk long. He had said he'd probably leave there around noon today since he has to come back & work. You never know what the traffic will be like so...hopefully he'll keep in contact better coming home.
I'll be later getting to the gym today. Probably just cardioglide maybe a couple of times. Hope everybuddy has a great OP Saturday smile.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Morning all!
I slept VERY late for me today. Told DH to rename me Sid, like the sloth in Ice age <G> it's just not normal for me to not wake up til 8:40 !!! Felt good, tho I have a coffee withdrawal headache, which should go away soon as Im already one cup into the coffee pot!
Yes, it's nice to have the checks straightened out. I deposited both last weeks check and this weeks INSIDE the bank (I normally use the ATM after hours) and they both went in fine. The dad was still going to investigate. I felt SO bad for them!! I am really hoping he finds a local job, since it's been 2 weeks + and he hasn't heard from NJ yet. THey don't want to move, anyway. The girls have adjusted VERy well- the little one didn't even cry yesterday, and when DAddy came to pick her up she gave him hugs, but then wanted me again! :D
The Boy's parents have had to ask me to hold checks before. I always hate that. I have learned to NOT depend on my income for bills! LOL I also got an email from the Princess' mom, apologizing for not leaving me a check. She had numerous employees call in sick (the only other employees besides me) and she was trying to get a wedding party's clothes done before leaving on vacation (it had to be mailed out by Wed am, and she finished it at 3 am then barely made it to the airport for their trip) Not that these are my fault,in any way, since i was more than willing to work and she just wasn't giving me any! LOL
I "found" another daycare check, from the other mom (teacher) that I thought Ihad deposited Tuesday night. Oops. Nice to *find* $150 in your purse! LOL DH said it's much better than finding a debit transaction of that amount! LOL
I'm a much happier camper now that DH and the kids are home. DH and I went out to dinner last night, I got BBQ chicken, steamed broccoli, mashed potatoes (only ate about 1/8th c) and onion rings. BAD choice there, they were delish, but VERY Salty. I am extremely bloated today... not to mention that I had to use 5 extra points to cover them.... so it's gonna be a low point day today! (No points in the bank...maybe flex points would be good? I guess I will have to reverse bank, which I KNOW Is not kosher)
Faylene, glad to hear from you again. It seems like we constantly have to recommit to being 100% OP. Better than quitting tho, right? I hope things are going well for your mom and neice.
Pat, glad you were able to get in touch with DS some way. KIDS they always seem to *forget* to call.... I hope your weather cools off soon. Ours is warmer and muggy today, and very overcast.
Hazel, I think you prob. made the right choice on helping the restaurant. I know when restaurants provide the nutritional info it makes it MUCH easier to figure points, even if the point slide isn't handy it makes it easier to make better choices. Nice that you are willing to help out there! Enjoy your concert TUes! Really long weekend, huh. Im just glad I have a 3 day weekend with DH home!
Sue, glad you have found such a good arrangement for care for your DD. I know the moms I have are very happy leaving their wee ones with me, and always give me rave reviews when people call for references. The princess' mom is happier when her DD is here, rather than the center (where she's been 2 days/week) but I just couldn't take her full time this year like we'd planned with having the neighbors kids full time too. Sigh. Not enough openings in my daycare for the people wanting me. That's a nice situation! The boy's mom isn't sending him to preschool (he's 3) because he's so much happier here, and next door didn't consider any other option with mom getting a job. LOL
Glad too that you can work from home. Makes life much nicer, IMHO.
Chouchi,. you're ambitious cleaning out! I went thru our stored clothes in the attic last winter and got rid of a LOT of things I was saving for if I was ever a size 8 again (yeah, right, they will be hopelessly out of style by then!) I donated them to some local fire victims, whose apartment complex burnt to the ground. (they all lost everything)
Unlike you, I enjoy thunder storms, usually from my front porch <G> It's neat, tho we dont have water around us. The storms up at camp are FAR more powerful than what we get here. I like those too, if I know where all my kids are! LOL
Have a great OP day all, time to get moving! I have to take the girls to the ballet store today to get shoes, tights etc. Hope they have the stretchie band for my Leslie Express tapes!

Happy Saturday, everyone. It's a cool 70 degrees here. We are back from the farmer's market, where we bought peaches and I treated myself to a spice-scented homemade candle. Getting ready for the Fall, my favorite time of the year!
DH and I have a "date" tonight, which we don't do nearly enough as we should, so I'm getting everything ready for the babysitter.
Pat, hope the weather cools off soon for you. Make sure you get your water in!
Couchi, those onion rings sound good. I love that WW allows us to indulge and enjoy it. You may want to try Flexpoints...I find them very liberating - perhaps it's just psychological, but it seems to work for my head anyway. graemlins/crazy.gif
Hazel, hope you're having fun in San Diego!
Susan, it IS really nice to work at home. I went back to work in an office when DD was 8 weeks old and it was a hard adjustment for me. I had made the decision to b-feed and I had a hospital-grade pump in my office and everyone knew that twice a day, I'd be pumping. Funny how having a kid takes away all your sense of privacy! :D DD's daycare lady (she still goes to her) was SO encouraging about the b-milk and gave me lots of pointers. She's a terrific woman.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. There are chores to do. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Good Afternoon Everyone,
It is cool today. We had a thunder storm last evening. I went out this morning shopping and the Malls are crazy graemlins/crazy.gif everyone and their dog is there. graemlins/ugh.gif My own fault though I forgot that this is the last shopping day before school goes in on Tuesday. I was shocked today to see all the Halloween supplies and treats on the shelves already. I still have to do the grocery shopping for my Dad and myself. We stopped at Wendy's and I had a Grilled Chicken sandwich and side salad. DH had his norm double cheeseburger and fries. It was good and I took three of DH fries. They make fries better than McD's and that is saying something. I don't care for fried foods and that was enough to satisfy me.
Pat Thank goodness you had DS girlfriends cell number or you would have worried all night long. My desk is full of papers too that need to be shredded and some filed as well. My cork notice board is full and I have no place even to stick a push pin.lol Now that the weather has cooled off I will be getting everything taken care of. I would like to be able to place all the papers in a container and burn them but we are not allowed to do that here shredding takes so long and is backbreaking.
That is what my tree had too, bag worms (larvae), I used the palmolive dish detergent diluted down and it killed them all and my tree looks great.
Hope the picnic went well and the weather stayed sunny.
SusanHappy to hear all worked out well with the cheques and is sad that the first cheques didn't go through as planned I feel bad for them as well. Nothing more embarrassing then having that happen. That must be a relief for you that the little one has really warmed up and is very comfortable with you now. I hope for all concerned that her Dad gets a job soon and local.
It is nice to "find" money that you thought you had already accounted for. smile.gif I was saving my size 2 jeans  now you know I will never nor do I want to be a size 2 again. I would be ecstatic with a size 9-10. What a shame about the apt complex fire. Those people certainly do need the support. I can't imagine having to start all over after losing everything in a fire it must be very difficult. :(
Sue Oops smile.gif , I didn't have the onion rings Susan did though but I agree with you about the WW plan being so flexible. Spice scented candles are nice. I have an electric potporri crockpot and I use apple spice & cinnamon oils. I love the smell of it in the fall. I also use Holly at Christmas really gives the house a warm feeling.
Date night sounds great DH and I don't do that often enough either.
Faylene Hope all is going well for you today.
Judy & Mehadable Where did you go? Hope you both are well and doing fine.
Everyone have a great day!

good afternoon buddies
its been kind of a dreary day up here but still very warm. i havent exercised in over a month but this morning i got up and walked my 3miles and i just now finished strength training. smile.gif well its been an interesting 3 days. my little GD started kindergarden and the frist day went really well but the second and thrid only got worse each day. she has never been in daycare or preschool. well fri she cried and cried and DD left her anyway but came to my house to cry cuz she felt guilty aabout leaving her DD. i assured her she is not the frist mom to do this and it will be alrite. we went to school and talked to teacher and she said that DGD is fine after mom leaves and interacts well with the others and that we should not take her out. which is what i thought. when my dd started she did the same thing and the teacher told me the crying stopped before i could even get out of the building so i think all be well(i hope). i have stayed op so far. im trying to keep low carb but it is so hard for me im trying a lowcarb shake for snacks which i hope helps but if not im just gonna forget it and keep on going with the pts.
pat i was with dh last week in the big truck and we went through VA it is abeautiful state. im not sure if we were near you cuz i really wasnt paying attention to the towns we went through.
susan thanks for asking about mom and neice. my little neice was another miracle.God must have something special planned for her. in the beginning she should have died cuz her problem went undiagnoses for 2wks and they saw if it goes more than 2days it is fatel and she has now had 3 open hearts. this one was supposed to take up to 28-30 hrs 3 teams of drs were there to do it and it only took less than 10. they were gonna have to keep her heart outside to wait for swelling to go down but the swelling was minimual so the heart went back in and instead of keeping her comatose for a week which was the plan they let her come too in a matter of hrs and she is now home safe and sound. my mom started chemo last week and seems to be responding well to it sunny we have not met yet i went AWOL for a while but i look foward to getting to know you. im faylene and i live in ME and have only lost 25lbs in almost a year but i havent gained it back and if i lose another 25 this year well that will be 50!!!
catch everyone tomorrow have a great holiday
chonchi you must have been posting the same time cuz i didnt see you before. im doing ok so far have a great op holiday
