Mornin' buddies graemlins/wave.gif well, so much for the cooler weather we were supposed to be getting. Looks like it might be next week before we get a break. Yesterday it was so oppressive outside graemlins/ugh.gif Lower 90s today but heat index is still going to be up so that means pretty miserable again I guess.
Susan glad to hear the DCKs are doing ok without your own being there. Makes life a little easier at least. I'm sure you must miss your riding partner. And I think tho that evenings are the worst. That's when I miss DH the most. Evenings are looong when he's not here. Esp. those 2 wks he's in Honduras in Feb. Also when he works over & I don't go anywhere. Hope all are having a good time. Did you get all your errands run? At least you are staying busy in the evenings. And they'll be back tomorrow?
Hazel how was it bussing the tables last night? I'd think that might be fun even if you know some of the people there. I'm sure you will before long anyway if you continue to do this.
Sue glad to hear you had a good time at the wedding. It is a rather hectic time right before but fun nonetheless. Guess now you're just trying for a little normalcy, huh. And you were brave to WI right after the big week-end! So I'd say 1 lb is not bad at all. What did you think of the new flexpoint system? We had a good crowd at our meeting yesterday...everybody checking out the new & improved I guess.
Chouchi missed you yesterday. Hope everythings ok.
To the rest of our S&S buddies... MISS YOU!
DS made out ok at his physical yesterday but he has to go back next Wed. at 2 as he didn't take his glasses with him. He thought he could just tell them that the eye dr said he didn't need to wear them anymore & that'd be it.(never mind I'd tried to tell him different  ) Well, when he said that they made him read the eye chart & he couldn't out of his left eye. He was done about 10 tho he said. About noon he went with a buddy to the river or a creek or somewhere to fish. Got back a little after 3 so was here to take me to church. I found a ride home as there was a youth cook-out afterwards that DS wanted to go to. This a.m. he has a JROTC staff meeting at 10. Then ballgames tonight at 8:30. Tomorrow he plans to go visit GF on the Eastern Shore.
DH will be home tonight. They're not allowed to work more than 2 16 hr days in a row. And we're going to my sister's for supper. Will probably go to the ballgames if DH is up to it. We'll see.
Hope to walk with Leslie in a little while. Hope everybuddy has a great OP Thursday smile.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Morning all!
I didn't get up and ride this am like I'd hoped to. My alarm went off just after 6, and I looked out there and decided it was too dark still to ride alone. I may try to squeeze a ride in thisafternoon, but that's doubtful since I only have an hour and ahalf between the kids leaving and when I have to get to the First Aid/CPR class. I didn't walk today, because I decided if I wasn't riding then this would be a day off this week.
I got my errands done last night, thanks, Pat. The guy at the watch store had some trouble replacing DH's watch band, because the side that was still on wouldn't come off. Weird. One side fell off months ago, about 6 mos after he bought it, and the other side wouldn't come off! But it's all fixed now, and DH won't know til MOnday since he hasn't been wearing the watch since it broke. IT's been driving me NUTS sitting on the living room bookcase waiting to be remembered <G>
DH called 3x yesterday. I think he misses me as much as I miss him! LOL He did say that imagine this ALL SUMMER, and that's what he goes through. I am having some difficulty staying on task-- I keep starting things and then not wanting to do them. weird. I have no cloaks to sew til next week (more in a minute on that) but I do have a jumper to cut out/sew for myself out of some pretty linen embroidered fabric I bought months ago. Think I could get to it? Think I could get to weeding the front of the house where I did all that landscaping? Think I could mow the back lawn like I've been meaning to since Monday? Nope. Of course, the outdoor things Icant do til the daycare kids leave...i guess if I dont ride today I will force myself to weed and mow for 45 min. The sewing I hope to start today at naptime, but i thought that yesterday too!
Now,
The Princess was only here Monday this week. They left yesterday for a week's vacation. I asked the mom for a check monday afternoon. She said her purse was in the car, could she just add what she owed to next week's check? I reminded her she wasn't coming next week, since she is only coming M-TU, and she isn't back from Vacation til Wednesday afternoon. Oh, she says. SO I went to the car with her and asked AGAIN for the check. SHe stalled, and offered to drop it off Tuesday am when she dropped off cloaks to sew. Skeptical I agreed. Well, Tues am no check or cloaks. Tues night still no check nor cloaks, and I KNOW she is leaving Weds am. Weds am I got an email apologizing for no sewing this week, she didn't get time to cut. No mention of the check at all,and by the time I read it she was already on the airplane!
To top things off, I went on our bank's website yesterday to make sure an ATM transaction DH had difficulty with over the weekend didn't get double billed. It hadn't, BUT my deposit from the neighbor for last weeks full time care of the 2 girls BOUNCED/  Now, I hesitated about depositing that check, because I knew it was mom's first week of work and Dad has been unemployed for 9 mos... but I figured they didn't ASK me to hold it or anything, so I went ahead and deposited it.
So basically, I Am out over $200 this week
Sigh.
I know the neighbors will make good on the $195 check, but then I worry about THIS week's check too! ($250-- last week was lower since mom didn't start til Tues)
Thing that really bugs me about the whole bounced check thing is I already spent 1/2 of it on DH's presents, assuming it was THERE. I can't even say anything til the returned check arrives either today or tomorrow, but I will HAVE To say something by pick up time tomrrow...because I can't accept another check that may bounce.
Sigh.
I didn't end up taking a bubble bath last night. IT was about 85 in the house (in spite of being 70 outside) and I was just too warm. Didn't think it prudent to put on the AC just to take a warm bath! LOL
It's much cooler now, and is only supposed to be in the upper 70s today, so it'll be NICE outside in the shade pushing those swings! (usually takes them well over an hour to get bored. Do I get APs for swing pushing????)
My family comes home tomorrow afternoon YAY!
Sue, glad the wedding trip went well. The setting sounds LOVELY. a 1 lb gain isn't too bad. What did you think of Flexpoints? Nice to see you in the gym yesterday, too.
BTW, I had a 1 lb gain this week too. :( I know I've been eating too much salt this week, but I hadn't for a full day. Wonder if it's yesterday's heat? (it got up to 90) My fingers are still swollen...
Pat, sorry DS has to go back to the Dr. This was military, right? I have to have a physical in Oct, for the daycare, and I have an eye appt for new glasses next month. (along with DD) I have a BAD feeling I'm going to be wearing glasses ALL the time. I'm having more trouble with headaches and with not being able to see things that are only about 5 ft away. I wear my glasses all the time in the car, even though I can drive ok without. I just cant see fine details or read at a distance, so if I don't have my glasses on I'll get lost driving! LOL
DS sure has been busy, Pat. when does school start? We start next week, as do the public schools here. My neieces started in Catholic school yesterday. SIL decided she really dislikes the public schools, which til end of last year she had been defending as wonderful tongue.gif I guess my older neiece's ENTIRE class has been labeled learning disabled. If a whole grade fails the MCAS test (mass achievement test they need to pass every year or not graduate...like a standardized test only the teachers teach toward the test all year) you gotta wonder about the system!
Chouchi, missed ya!
Hazel, glad you got to walk yesterday. I'm guessing it's not as hot where you are as it is in VA? Hope you enjoy Curves, I know MIL enjoyed it when she was going last winter.
Have a great OP day all!

Good Morning Everyone! graemlins/wave.gif Well, the table bussing was alot of fun. I slept real good after that too. They really appreciated my help. Now, I have a question for all of you. The owner of the little italian restaurant wants me to help her make the place WW friendly. I told her about WW and the points system (which she knows somewhat already) but she wants to have her plates converted into the points. So...I told her I would ask the leaders in Tustin to see her and help her. BUT if they are not interested in helping her, can I do it? Is it as easy as having her cook measure out the serving sizes of the dishes and then looking up the points in either the points books (the new ones) and using the flexpoint finder? Please give me you input. I thought also of calling the 800 number and telling them that this resteraunt is wanting to be WW friendly. They may have special ways of helping her out. What do you think I should do? I will not be going to Curves today. I will be working both job trailers (so I am working two projects) for the next couple of days while one secretary is on vacation. I'll get plenty of exercise. Next Tuesday, I am off for the day. I am going to San Diego to see Tony Bennett in concert. I can't wait to see him. Have a great day everyone.

Hi ladies! I'm a bit late posting today because I went to a free seminar this morning for people who own small businesses. It was very informative and I made a couple of good contacts, so I'm very glad I went. I'll be starting up a new contract next week so I'll be getting organized over the next few days.
Hazel, working at the restaurant sounds like a lot of fun! Hope you counted some APs for it. ;) As far as the restaurant getting WW friendly, my advice is to not call WW. I used to work for them as a leader and they are quite protective of their brand, which includes Points, a registered trademark. I think the restaurant would be wise to offer nutritional stats, but not publish point values on a menu, etc. It would probably be okay for a server to say, "I figured the pasta primavera out to be 8 points," but the restaurant itself shouldn't advertise that or there might be legal problems; WW could say the restaurant was making money off of something they own. Believe me, I'm not a litigious person, but I so many companies are quick to protect their property. Just my 2 cents, for what they're worth. smile.gif
Susan, I can empathize with not getting paid for work. Just this week, I got paid for consulting work that I did in May/June. Whew! I was getting pretty worried that I wouldn't ever see the money. What type of cloaks do you make?
Pat, have fun at the baseball game.
See you all in the gym! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Yesterday I tried logging on but something was going on with my server and I had difficulties all day long to the point of frustration so...I turned the computer off.
This morning I still had a problem could have something to do with the virus that is out there and it's possible that the servers are updating. No problem this afternoon. It is a beautiful day I wish I had the energy to go out for a walk. It is the meds causing all my problems and nothing I can do until I speak with my Dr first.
Pat No, DS didn't have seizures until he turned 5 1/2 after he had a malignant brain tumor removed, then 21 cobalt treatments and on top of all of this a brain abscess. He was at death's door and in a coma for several weeks. I Thank God everyday that he is still with us. Seizure's seem to be in control again for now anyhow. We take day by day. The new meds should be available in the next couple of weeks. They have not been approved in Canada yet so we will be getting supplies from the Pharmaceutical company for a few months and then I don't know what will happen they are very expensive. His meds now are close to $1500 every six weeks. I am sure the new meds will be in the $500 range and up. Too bad your DS didn't take his glasses with him it would have saved him trip.
Susan You sound lonely. :( So does your DH. My nephew is out West and his girlfriend is really lonely as well he will be arriving home on Saturday and she has to work. Go figure!!
You are not able to stay on task because your routine is broken with DH and kids away. I get like that sometimes too especially when DS goes for a few days and DH was at sea. It threw me off and I was just getting into the swing when everyone arrived back home again.lol That is very unfortunate about the chq bouncing and Princess's Mother not paying you before she left, how unfair. Hope all works out well for you and soon.
Hazel I agree with Sue it is better if they just give the nutritional stats because WW is very protective and they do have a registered trademark. You could always call the head office to find out if you are allowed to use the pts on the menu's but I wouldn't mention the location of the restaurant.
Sue Happy to hear the wedding trip went very well. Nice to see you back again. I'm not so sure about the flex plan I guess it's like everything else you have to get used to it. WW changes the program so often though I think if one is working for you why bother changing it? I really don't know much about the flex plan yet but have some materials that I must read over and then I will be able judge more fairly.
Judy Where are you??
Mehadable Getting really concerned about you.
Everyone have a great day!
