Mornin' buddies graemlins/wave.gif and another hot & humid one it's gonna be again today. Then another "cold" front is supposed to be coming in with rain overnight. We could use the cool without the rain right now. DH & DS fish tomorrow so they're hoping the rain will either stop before they go(about 4:30 a.m. )or wait till they get home. Heat index is to be over 100 today...ugh

Susan a big CONGRATS to you on your loss! I'm really glad you are finally making progress. You've struggled so over the past year or so...you deserve to be a "loser" now! How'd you make out with the sewing? Hope you were able to get it all done. Is today the last day of ballet camp? Know you'll be glad when it's over. Did just one DD go or both?

Judy your dinner by the water watching the sunset sounds wonderful. So peaceful & relaxing. Enjoy the moment! Guys do seem to be inhalers of food don't they! It's amazing what they can eat...and still be hungry after just a little while. When I think I have it bad with one, I think of my DD with 4!!

Chouchi if you're like me this stinkin' humidity just zaps me. I was gonna get out & cut those brown things off my evergreen yesterday but it was so humid I just said forget it. Thanks for the info. I'll see what I can figure out. It's too bad that stress affects the intensity of the shingles. You've had nothing but stress over the past several months. Glad it's some better tho. I think you're right about your friend...she will need you more when the family is gone. Unfortunately, it seems that friends desert you when you lose your partner. Maybe it seems awkward or something but that's when people really need their friends.

Hazel glad you liked your haircut. I'm going this a.m. I pay $12. for mine...every 4 wks. My oldest DD actually got her start in hairdressing at Fantastic Sams. She now works for Hair Cuttery.

Mama missed DS's graduation ceremony. She got mixed up & didn't come over. I hated that she missed it but I told her I was glad we didn't wait for her either as they'd already started when we got there & we were about 20 min early! They said it was because of the heat. Ceremony was outside & the cadets were in their "camos" standing on asphalt. My eyes misted some watching DS stand in formation like that. There really wasn't much to it. They rushed them thru getting their certificates but hopefully DH was able to get a picture of him. When in formation he was deadcenter in front of me so hope that one turns out good. Right afterwards he left to go to GF's. Their 6 mo. "anniversary" was yesterday & they'd made plans to go to dinner in Richmond.(he even gave up his ballgames for this!)So we haven't had much time to talk to him. He gave me a wet set of camos to bring home he'd had on during the obstacle course that a.m. After we left I called Mama & convinced her to go out to eat with us(sister wasn't cooking last night). Then we made a run to DD's to get a chair, entertainment center & boxes of books. Mama found that the pages of a book she'd gotten out Wed. were warping so she wanted to get the rest out. Chair & EC came here, boxes to my sister's.

Got a "to do" list for DS today. Then he has to work 4-10. DH will be getting the boat ready this evening I guess.

Won't get to the gym till after the haircut. Hope everybuddy has a great OP Friday smile.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Morning all
I opted to sleep in instead of exercising this am.. .which means I wont see the gym til late thisevening if at all. Currently my exercise room is full of camping gear, so I can't exercise indoors. DH is taking the kids camping Monday-Fri next week, and is piling the stuff in the exercise room until the youth group is done with the Van Sun afternoon, so he can load it in there. sigh. I told him I wouldn't need the room, but didn't give myself the option to sleep in and NOT exercise outside in the am that way!
I'm not sure why Ive been so tired, unless it's giving up my quiet time at nap time to sew. I got the cloaks done yesterday, and she brough MORE. LOL I've done 10 this week, 10 last week. graemlins/crazy.gif I'll get 2 more done today, that gives her 22 for the 2 events this weekend. (plus what she had on the rack from the week I was home in July) Last weekend's event sold ONE cloak, but the planners goofed. THey asked her to not open til after the fashion show that her stuff was in, which was supposed to give her booth and hour and half, but they closed an hour early! so she had 30 min. she was TICKED, but then again it meant that there is more for this weekend's events! LOL (she's at 2, she's got someone helping at one since she hasn't figured out cloning)
AND
She told me yesterday that she was invited by the Nashional Poly Cystic Ovary foundation to come to their annual convention in Oct, in Atlanta GA and do a fashion show. She asked me if I gave them her name, which I hadn't (I think it was a bride she did a wedding for 2 years ago, who weighed in at 350 lbs  Poor woman! PCOS is a lousy illness) anyway, it's the final weekend of the big event she does in CT, which is 4 weeks long. She's gonna need TONS of stuff for these 2 events, and then halloween, her biggest *special order* time, is the next week...so guss who will be making lots of $$ sewing 'tween now and halloween? LOL I'm not too unhappy about that, since it means we can pay some bills down. Now, if the kids next door don't move to NJ, We'll be able to get at least one major bill paid off by next spring!
Today is the last day of ballet camp. Only oldest DD went. Yongest was too young, middle didn't want to go to the *older class* she tried it last year and was very unhappy, and I wasn't gonna pay $200 for her to NOT go this year (she refused to go 2 days last year)
Judy, your dinner plans sound lovely. DH and I ate one night on our trip at a restaurant with a great view of a harbor...unfortunately it was raining that night! it was still yummy, tho
Hazel, $35 seems high to me. The salon I go to (and it's not a discount place!) charges $22 for a cut and style, I think it's $28 if they wash it (I always have already washed mine) I agree, there are lots of ways to add exercise, not necessarily just aerobics classes.
Chouchi, I think you are right in thinking your friend will want company when the relatives leave. It's when the rush of the arrangements are over that those who have lost loved ones NEED contact. WHen my dad died, it was really tough about 2 weeks after the funeral, and again with BIL it was after the family all flew home etc. when we have to find what the new normal of normal life will be that it's HARD. I'm glad you're able to be such a good friend!
I went to the much cancelled meeting with the friend who was formerly a daycare provider, and came home with a whole van load of stuff! :D all free too!!! She had this triangular fisher price climbing thing the kids will LOVE, and a shelf that holds buckets of toys that I wanted, 2 nap mats with sheets (I only have 3 portacribs, and 4 nappers!) I didn't take the wood blocks she has, because I'm afraid they will get thrown, but I may rethink that. The buckets on the shelf were full of toys too-- play tools and more kitchen toys (my DCKids love the kitchen set I have) puppets, bean bags etc... what a find! ;)
Well, I've gotta get busy answering email before driving DD to ballet. Have a great OP day all!

TGIF Everybody!!! graemlins/crazy.gif Well, the power was going to go down today here at the jobsite, moving power poles and such, but I guess it will be Monday now. Working on a jobsite in a construction trailer...this is a regular occurance. Today I have my tennis shoes on. This is the first time I have had them on since my sprained ankle. The swelling is finally almost gone. Tomorrow over to Glendas for chores and such, then Sunday, nothing planned. No swimming this week (TOM) but will get to it next week. That's it from Orange County, CA Have a great day and a wonderful weekend. graemlins/wave.gif

Good Evening Everyone!

Strange weather today and very humid. It drains the energy right out of me. Lately I've been very tired and I'm not sure if the stress has caught up with me or the new meds I've started. I see my Dr the first week in Sept and I will find out then.

Pat How are you feeling now? DS is coming off of the Topamax. He started seizuring and I put him back on the 200mg for a few days and then decreased to the 100mg and he seems to be fine with that dose. I called his neurologist and spoke with his assistant today and she told me I did the right thing and to keep him on it for a month or so then reduce 50mg for a few months then 25mg and see if I can get him completely off of them. He is starting a new med Kemppra in a few weeks it isn't approved here yet by the FDA so he will be getting it through the hospital apparently it doesn't have the side effects the others have ie: drowsiness, spacey etc. I am praying this will be the drug of choice for him.
The heat index there is so high I bet you are looking forward to the Fall and cooler temps. I know I sure am. Our friend is going in to the city next week and taking care of the pension's and all the necessary paperwork. That will keep her occupied for bit but the following week is when everything will be quiet. DH and I will take her a casserole and visit with her. She is only one street over from us and I know she likes to walk so I will walk with her if she feels up to it.
Hope your DH & DS have a great day for fishing.

Susan I can understand why you are tired. You are an extremely busy lady and along with the riding and walking you need to take a day or two off and re-energize. Pamper yourself and indulge in a nice bubble bath, light scented candles, put an ice mask on your eyes, nature music in the background. Ahhhhh! then have a little nap awake have a cup of herbal tea. Lounge around in something light and loose. You will feel wonderful. DH and kids all going camping will give you a bit of break. Your really lucked out with the the toys etc. Those things are so costly.

Judy Have a wonderful Anniversary Dinner with DH and enjoy the scenery. It is so nice have dinner while looking out over the ocean. We are fortunate living on the coast and very near the ocean we have many nice restaurants near the water. It is beautiful and very relaxing.

DH needs the computer. Everyone have a great day!
