Mornin' buddies graemlins/wave.gif boy do I miss Mehadable opening up the coffee shoppe for us every a.m. Sure hope you're ok buddy. We miss you. Hope it's just the power outage problems & nothing else. It's gonna be hot & muggy here today. It came back yesterday afternoon. I had to turn the a/c back on & I won't turn it off today. Supposed to be mid 90s. graemlins/ugh.gif

Susan sure hope the scales work in your favor today. I'm really kind of aggravated with mine. For 4-5 days I was down & then yesterday I was back up. So only a .2 loss(tho much better than a gain so I'll take it...lol) Today, I'm back down. Go figure. Hope everybody managed to get up on time this a.m. It's terrible to get the day started off running behind. You never seem to catch up...at least it's that way for me. Sounds like you'll miss Uncle Tom when he leaves. It's nice to have that kind of a relationship with your houseguests. Most of the time it doesn't seem to be that way...unfortunately.

Judy guess this isn't your short week huh. Too bad you don't have an extra day to celebrate your anniversary. What are you planning to do fun??

Hazel good for you to try to get back in your walking. How did the new hairdresser do? It's always a little scary when you go to someone new I think. I've been going to the same girl now for quite a number of years. Matter of fact, I go tomorrow a.m.(DS will love getting up to take me...lol)

Chouchi did you get to visit with your friend's family yesterday or will you wait a bit to do that? And how's your very sick friend? Hope Shelby is feeling better now. Poor baby had quite a time didn't she. I hate to ask you this right now(but if I don't I'll forget odear.gif ) Do you know anything about evergreen trees? One of mine is dying. It has brown "baggy" things hanging from the branches. Know what to do?? I have really enjoyed this tree. Mama & Daddy gave it to me quite a while ago & it has such a nice shape. We usually put lights on it during Dec/Jan. So I really hate to lose it.

Well, yesterday I actually got more than I bargained for. After WW Mama wanted to go to DD's to check on her stuff. It wasn't too bad but it's very damp under her house. The boys wanted to go to lunch with us. The oldest GS still had a little math to do(they've started school already--home schooled)so while he did that, we moved boxes & stuff around so things could have "space" to breathe. There's still an entertainment center & chair we need to bring over here...maybe tonight when we have the truck. Had a nice lunch with the boys & DD. That's always fun. And they enjoyed having Mema along, too. Then on the way home, we stopped to have one of Mama's tires checked. Supposed to have 34 lbs of air...only had 10...Yikes! So guy put air in it for her. Then she noticed she was on empty so we stopped at WaWa & I filled her tank up for her. The supper at my aunt's was nice, too. I talked to my cousin who's the Navy SEAL & he took some info about DS & is gonna see what he can do when he gets back to San Diego. He said some friends in his unit that went to the Naval academy were long shots so DS should go for it & not give up trying.

Today's the big day for DS. I know he'll be glad when it's over. I just hope he enjoyed it. Then tonight he has ballgames at 8:30. So another late night. Oh well...

Well, I hope to walk with Leslie in a little bit so will hit the gym later. Hope everybuddy has a great OP Thursday smile.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Morning all!
Dh and I got up to ride this am. DD got up before I even got in the shower today, so we managed to get her to ballet before the neighbors girls arrived. The neighbor dad had an interview in NJ last week, and they are supposed to be making him an offer next week graemlins/sobbing.gif tho he did have another interview locally yesterday. I'm hoping THAT one will work out, because I really like these kids, and the young one is working out just fine, not to mention the fact that I need the income! They don't want to move, but he's been unemployed since last Dec. sigh. So, you can bet I'm praying he get the local job!!!!
I was down another pound today, YAY ME I'm kinda upset with myself that it took til AUgust for me to get back where I was when I joined WW meetings last year-- between the stress of fitting in meetings, going on the pill, and a 2 week vacation, and then holidays, I had gained just about everything back last fall. REALLY discouraging! But I am currently below that # which is nice!
DH is 3 lbs from goal. graemlins/ugh.gif I wish I could do a little GREEN ugh guy <G>
Chouchi, glad you got your glasses. Seeing is a good thing!
Hazel, how was the hair cut?
Glad you had such a nice time with your family yesterday, Pat.
Well, I've got lots of sewing to get done (2 cloaks, and she's bringing more at noon) so I'd best get pinning. Last week I made 10 cloaks, and I've already done 7 this week.. good thing I get paid well for this! At this rate, I'll be caught up on income by the end of Sept <G>
Have a great OP day all,

Hi all, it's humid and hot here too. It's already 85 at 9am so I think it's going to be a sizzler.
Pat congrats on your loss--you know what I always say--a loss is loss. That's weird about the rise in your weight on WI and then back down.
I'm actually thinking about taking Friday off just b/c DH is taking off and playing golf w/ the guys and I could have some pampering stuff for my self, pedicure/manicure etc. We're not thinking of anything exciting for anniversay-- may be go to a neighboring county and having dinner by the water and watch the sunset.

Susan sending some skinny vibes your way for your WI today, not that you need them you've been on a roll. addendum: Just read your post WTG on your loss.

Chouchi how are you and shelby doing? You've been quite a busy bee. I would like to know about that brown stuff on evergreens also cuz we get that sometimes. Our neighbors gave us something to spray on them that clears them up but I don't know what it's called --I can ask DH. I bet you know some environmentally safe way to handle it tho and I always prefer that when possible. This is our 9th anniversay, we were both married before. I call us "retreads" smile.gif and the time has just flown by so I guess we got it right this time. I have a step son, he's 24, a good guy a little unfocused but we're hoping for the best and trying to keep him out of our house smile.gif He's about 6'3" and inhales food, wrappers and all!

Have a great OP day everyone and you know, drink that water.

Judy

Howdy Everyone... graemlins/wave.gif Well, the haircut is real cute. I am so used to going to Fantastic Sams...and this lady charged me $35 for a cut and style. I don't know if that is the going rate...but that sounds high to me. Anyways, after the cut I went to my little Italian restaurant I like to have some soup, and they were busy! I guess Wednesday nights, they have an all you can eat pasta night. The poor waiter was going nuts and the owner was taking orders. It is only a 15 table restaurant. So, I volenterred (sp?) to bus the tables on Wednesday nights. They said yes. So, that will be one more night of some fun exercise for me. That kinda shows me you can find all kinds of ways to get fun exercise...if you just open your eyes! Well, have a great day everyone.

Good Evening Everyone graemlins/wave.gif

It was a scorcher today. The humidity levels are back up again. We are suppose to be getting thunder and lightening this evening with rain. It seemed to be cooling off and then this heat wave hit again. Shelby is feeling better and she did eat twice today along with a few biscuits. I'm still tired it will take me a few days to catch up and I will be fine. Shingles are doing much better I find if I get tired then I start getting the pain. I suppose not enough sleep is another stressor.

Pat Congrats on the loss they all add up in the end. I think it has much to do with the humidity levels as well. The higher the humidity the more we tend to retain fluid. Your Mama was almost riding on the rim. She must have noticed a difference in steering after she had the tire inflated.
No, we didn't get a chance to visit with Lou's wife but we will within the next week. She does have family with her right now and I think she would appreciate the company after they have gone back home. Most live in another Province. She herself is going through chemo she was diagnosed with breast cancer last Fall. She and her husband drew strength from each other as they were both getting treatments at the same time. The coming months will be very difficult for her. :(
How is DS with his new hairstyle has he gotten used to it yet?

About the ever green here is a little info I hope you will find it useful.

"Eastern Tent Caterpillars" are in the spring and are easily distinguished by their location in the "crotch" of a branch.
"Fall Webworm" tents are formed at the branch tips. These are larvae and inside is a worm. Remove one and open to see if there is a worm. If there is than you can use the Palmolive Dish soap diluted with water. Put in spritzer bottle and spray on larvae. Repeat until larvae no longer present.
'Tip blight' fungus. This is a rusty color and it destroys the evergreen. This is treated with fungicides.
Due to the wet weather, a number of cedar trees/shrubs have been showing various degrees of cedar-apple rust. Affected trees can at times be completely covered with orange, gelatinous round masses on the tips of branches. This disease is a fungus and should be treated with a fungicide. Follow the instructions on the container. There are organic fungicides available check with your local hardware/gardening store.

Susan Congrats on the loss! graemlins/thumbup.gif You are doing very well in that department. You shouldn't feel discouraged about what the numbers were last year, even tho that might be difficult, give yourself a pat on the back for getting back on track and being below that number this year. You did have a few factors playing against you but you persevered against it all and are coming out a winner. Big Congrats to your DH he really loss quickly. Men.....!!! :D Today you got off on the right start and it really does make a difference on how the rest of the day flows. Hope you get sewing done soon.

Judy You are still in your honeymoon stages. smile.gif This is my second marriage as well, the only good thing from the first one was my son.It was also very short lived less than five years. DH and I celebrated our 19th March gone. I want to get to goal before our Twentieth. I can't believe we have been together twenty-two years already. It is true what they say "time flies when you are having fun". It is amazing how young men can scoff down so much food and be hungry an hour later. They are very hard on the grocery budget. smile.gif

Hazel That was very generous of you to work on Wed evenings. I just changed my hair stylist as well. I'd been going to her for over 13 years and each time I went I was charged anywhere between $25-$40 per visit every 6-7 weeks and thought geez this is really expensive and when I purchased hair products and had highlites in my hair the bill was $125+ this was every three months. I, on a whim (actually I was a little annoyed with the salon about a purchase I had made)went to Fantastic Sam's and for the same cut I was charged only $14 I almost fell off the chair and the hair product was $8 cheaper plus highlites including cut & style is only $40. I like the stylist and she did a great job. So...the next cut and highlites will be with her. I still can't believe such a price difference. My other salon is a Day Spa so that is probably one reason why because of the overhead but still I'd rather put those $$$ in my pocket. I will miss my stylist though.

Mehadable Hope all is well with you. We are getting concerned now. Miss you.

Faylene Thinking about you.

Everyone have a great day!
