Mornin' buddies graemlins/wave.gif looks a little gray out this a.m. but I don't think we're due for any rain. We had a short but quite intense storm about 4:30 yesterday afternoon & then it cooled off nicely. I'm debating about opening windows this a.m. as it's supposed to heat up again this afternoon. I still may tho & get at least a little fresh air in here.
Susan it's no wonder you forget to check in here! You have quite a "to do " list yourself! It's a wonder you don't meet yourself at some point. Is ballet camp an all day thing or just a few hrs? You really made headway on your sewing yesterday. Nice to get it done I'm sure. Hope your MIL is continuing to improve. I'm sure it's hard on her not being able to get around much. Sorta like I feel about not driving I guess...lol How'd the meeting go last night? It's a shame the school system has to make such a stink over homeschooling. It's very popular here but I don't think they get the harassment that you do. Hope things went well for y'all.
Chouchi you seem to have troubles right on top of troubles don't you. ****{HUGS}}} My sympathies to you and your DH losing close friends so close to the same time. It's even harder I think when they're about the same age as we are(speaking for myself since I'm about the age as your friends) Hits close to home. Glad the shingles are on their way out and you're feeling better there at least.
Hazel I'm anxious to see how the new WW program works, too. At our meeting they aren't saying much. Will find out next week all about it I guess. Our leader said it will be easier. I did read somewhere where we get 35 "extra" points for the week and that takes the place of banked points if I remember right.(no guarantee there! graemlins/crazy.gif )
Sue good job on having a loss just over the week-end! I know you'll have a good time this week-end. Is your little girl(girl right?)a good traveler? Is your DH going along, too? Enjoy graemlins/thumbup.gif
DS made it to camp on time yesterday. I nearly croaked when I saw him last night. We took him his cell phone so he'd have it when he got off work & they'd shaved his head  Most of the guys already had haircuts like that & they were giving him a hard time about his(that I'd cut Sat!)so they wrestled him down & shaved it off. He is NOT happy about it either. But it's done so no use crying now. He didn't like me taking pics this a.m. either. I got him pretty well packed last night. He just had to put in the last minute stuff this a.m. We won't see him now till Thurs. evening.
This a.m. I've already gotten my squash concoction baking & made a jello salad. We have a family gathering at my aunt's tomorrow evening as my one uncle from out of town will be here. His son who's a Navy SEAL will be with him & we think he took part in the rescue of Jessica Lynch in Iraq. Haven't seen my uncle since Daddy's funeral.
Will probably be a long day today as DH thinks he's gonna have to work over. I'll walk with Leslie after the squash is done most likely. Hope everybuddy has a great OP Tuesday. smile.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Morning buddies, it's clear and warm. Pat we had that storm also around 4:30 pm yesterday. Today is my wedding anniversary, no plans yet-- since it's the middle of the week we may wait until the weekend to do something.
Pat I heard the new plan will give you 35 points a week instead of banking points, but I think you're not going to be able to bank any APs. Any APs you don't use the day they're earned you lose. I hope I'm wrong on that cuz I earn lots of APs and so do you. I also heard you will not have a point range each day but one number, a "point target" for the day say "22" if your range use to be 20-25 cuz it's going to be your minium plus 2. More info is on the BCB daily thread and in the latest WW magazine.
Oh yeah, I bet you're glad DS already took his Sr. pics since the guys at the jrrotc camp decided to give him that unrequested buzz cut graemlins/crazy.gif
Chouchi sorry to hear of your dear friends' passing. My condolences to you and your DH. Glad to hear you're feeling better tho. Also good to hear you've got your power on that sounds like a big nuisances, especially since it's so hot. Plus I heard we're all going to be paying more for electric, we knew that was coming, didn't we. In the news here they're trying to blame the power outage on Cleveland, OH.
Susan good job at the party I love lasagna too and that would have been a tough call for me also. Heard any more about Uncle Tom's job offer.
Sue have a wonderful trip hope the power outage won't affect your trip.
Mehadable and M04 hope you're okay and that you have your power on.
Happy, DSOlson, Chari and everyone else have a good OP day and let's all have some water.

Morning all!
I overslept today... fell back asleep waiting for DH to get out of the shower, and ALMOST slept too late to walk today. Did manage a 2 mi walk before taking DD to ballet camp (it's 9:30-4:30, but I'm bringing her at 8:45 so I'm back here for 9 am drop offs)
Thankfully the one I was so worried about being clingy wasn't phased at all when Daddy dropped her off. She's clingy to Mom, but less to dad, and he is the drop off person til he gets a job. (then I don't know which will be!)
The lady I sew for showed up just as I was getting into the van, to drop off more cloaks to sew :( I had one left here I was hoping to get done today, and some hemming to do for my nephew, and was hoping that would be IT for today, but no such luck. Of course, the box of cloaks is still in my van, because when I got back the daycare kids were here (and it was exactly 9:00, so I wasn't LATE)
MIL is feeling better, she's still a clutz on the crutches, but she was up a lot yesterday, on the computer and reading on her couch, so I guess she's in less pain. Seemed to be in a better mood, too.
The meeting last night went well, tho we didn't accomplish everything on the agenda. It was very informative, to find out what other families are doing to deal with the superintendent. Apparently the changes made in the homeschooling policy are in direct violation of the school's published policy, which states that any changes made will be discussed with involved parties FIRST. sigh. Anyway, we are still waiting for HOme School Legal Defense to hear back from the superintendent on several issues, and are just going to proceed as planned with our curriculum and ignore his requested form, since we already submitted the info in our letter of intent.
Hazel, I was interested in the new program, but it will cost me $30 to get it. I may just before my WW at home membership runs out (in NOvember) but NOT now... money is too tight to justify it for now. (taking the summer off hurts $-wise)
Sue, congrats on the loss...take ANY loss you get! LOL Hope you enjoy your trip-- it's for the wedding, right?
Wow, Chouchi, it never rains but it pours, eh? Sorry you are going thru so much as a family. Its awfully hard! I am glad to hear you are feeling better... but MAN, no wonder you are stressed!!! ********{Tymber}}}}}
DH was quite pleased to surpass his 50 mi goal smile.gif
Poor DS, Pat! I bet you wish you hadn't cut his hair, right? Seems like a waste of your time!
From what the WW magazine said, Pat, instead of a points RANGE, you get an amount, say 24 in my case (since I'm still barely in the 24-29 range) and then the 35 points to use whenever during the week. (it didn't say anything about activity pts) So if you have a bad weekend and use all 35, you have to stick to the 24 pts every day the rest of the week.
I guess there is less to track that way, but if the booklets are basically the same as the present ones with that one modification, I'm gonna save the $30 <G>
Have a great OP day all!

Happy Tuesday Everyone. Nothing new to report. Yesterday had one of those "off" days...You know, when you don't know what is the matter with you...you just feel wierd. So, I didn't exercise or anything. I read some of the WW magazine and found a new recipe I will try this week. It is finally getting cooler...down to the upper 80's. Have a great day everyone. graemlins/wave.gif

Afternoon all!
Uncle Tommy got not only a job, but also a place to live, as part of the deal. YAY!
He's only been here a week and 2 days, and has been a delightful houseguest, but felt really bad *imposing* on us.
I'm happy for him, because this job seems to have been handed to him on a silver platter, straight from God. Walked in on a cold call and found out the guy was good friends with Tommy's deceased best friend (think I mentioned that) the guy needed someone who knew orthodics, which is Tommy's speiciality, and the guy is including the top floor of the building as living space as part of his *pay*... rent in addition to his almost $20/hour salary (plus 50% commission on the orthodics) Sweet deal!

Good Evening Everyone,
This has been quite a day. The weather was beautiful. I started out this AM going to my Dad's and I cleaned his house. I arrived home at 1:00 PM and the funeral service was at 2:00 PM I didn't realize how long I had been at my Dad's I got into some really deep cleaning. Anyhow I rushed home in the shower & dressed. DH and I arrived within two minutes of the service starting. It was very sad. He requested that there be no reception also not disturb his family the day of the funeral but encouraged friends to go to his home tomorrow and speak with his family. The Priest spoke on behalf of the deceased and his family. I do hope all respected his wishes and let the family have this day to grieve privately. We left the grave site and then went to our friends home that is not doing very well. He looks terrible and we spent three hours with him and his wife. He has palliative care at home. His wife let me read all of his medical files and this poor man is suffering. He could go at anytime as his liver function is deteriorating very rapidly and they cannot do anything more for him. He has already expelled part of his liver and has had three arteries rupture and the Dr's have cauterized them and they no longer function. The Dr's at this point are amazed that he is still here. It is amazing to see someone with such a strong will. He told his wife that he is not ready to go yet. Please say a prayer for him and his wife (Jim & Mary). Thank you so much. When we arrived home Shelby was in her kennel and we smelled her before we seen her. I had given her deworming medication last evening.( Strongid-T) I had to get changed quickly bath her, clean the kennel, and wash her toys, pillow, bedding. She felt so bad and you could see she was ashamed of herself. Poor baby it wasn't her fault. She had a skinned nose as well trying to get out of the stinky kennel. It has been quite the day. I am feeling better physically, emotionally not so good. This week so much unsettling news.
Good news, I received my glasses today. Now I can see again. smile.gif
Pat Thank you. Our friends are several years older than us but DH and I were talking about that today. When you get older and your friends pass on it really does hit home and you realize that time is going quickly.
I can imagine your surprise when you seen DS new hair cut. Hopefully it will grow back quickly. It seems to be the style around here all the young guys have shaved heads. DH said he was going to get a close cut and I told him not to be so foolish he is going to wish he had that hair next year. ;) His stylist told him that his hair is thinning and you can actually see scalp on the crown now.lol I hope you have a wonderful visit with your Uncle and cousin.
Susan That is great news for Uncle Tom. He said he wouldn't be at your home long. You are right he has quite a sweet deal with the new job. Sounds as though he was a wonderful guest and will be missed. Happy to hear your mil is feeling better. I remember the crutches all to well I had them for several months and always found that they hurt under my arms even with the padding.
I hope all works out well with the attorney and things get settled quickly before you get to far into the new school year.

No more power rate increases we just had a big hike. graemlins/ugh.gif Although the money to upgrade the system has to come from somewhere. My cousin's street had a power surge and it blew her computer, TV's, DVD, etc. I hope that didn't happen to Mehadable. Strange we haven't heard anything from her.
It is late and I'm exhausted and need graemlins/sleep.gif . Everyone have a great day.
