Hi Chari, I don't live in AZ now. I moved here to MO in 1998. I used to live in Prescott, AZ & my daughter lived in Tempe. I loved AZ & miss the wonderful weather very much. Let us know how you like it there. graemlins/wave.gif

I will be in your glorius state in a few days for the next 5 months...I am looking forward to the warm weather, rain or not... it is away from the COLD!!! I am struggling with my weight and have been for years. Now I am counting carbs, fats and trying to combine it with WW'ers.. Whew!!

I'm in AZ - transplanted here a few years ago from Ohio. I don't miss the snow - or the "late autumn tornado season."

In the midwest, everyone gains weight over the winter and takes it off in the summer. In Phoenix, it seems to be the other way around! Maybe I can just confuse my body into shedding the pounds! tongue.gif

I'm sorry to intrude, because I'm from Michigan, but I was wondering if I could ask a question. I already posted this in the T20's section, but thought I should try here, too.

First of all, my apologies for posting off topic, but is anyone familiar with the Phoenix/Tempe area or ever been there before? I will be there for the week of New Year's and I am going out for New Year's Eve with my boyfriend and his friends that live out there. (We're all in our early to mid- 20's.)

The problem is that they aren't really planning to go anywhere in particular for New Year's. Our friend out there said we will just go to AZ State's campus and wander between bars. My fear, being the anal retentive planner that I am, is that we won't get in anywhere because it IS New Year's. Guys being guys, they don't seem the least bit concerned. I just want to know if anyone has any suggestions for where might be good parties/bars for New Year's? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

Hey Renee,

I actually lived 5 min from the asu campus for years. I would just go with the flow on this one. Anywhere near Mill Ave is going to be crazy-fun even if you dont get in to the bars but if you are worried about planing what to do try www.newtimes.com (http://www.newtimes.com) it's the local alternitive paper. They usually have a listing of clubs and special events so at least you can plan for cover charges(they can be quite astronomical this time of year). Come to think of it if you are on a budget I would recomend staying out of Scottsdale(borders Tempe). Ive seen cover charges as high as $50 bucks!
