View Full Version : INDIANA
I've seen some Hoosiers milling around the threads.
I'm CW. I'm a WW Leader in Carmel (just north of Indy) I lost 144 pounds and have been a leader for almost two years. My wife and I do two meetings together. She lost 45 to get to her goal. I tell everyone that she and I are 'closer' now becasue of the lost weight ;) .
Check in Hoosiers. Let me hear from ya.

Hmmmmm - I am also from NW Indiana - lived here all my life (33 years) but never heard it called the region. Maybe because I am in between the "Michiana" area and the Chicago area

Actually, they call it the "Calumet Region". Hammond, Highland, Munster, Griffith area.
Most of my buddies were from 'Da Region'! :D
Sherry, you can the the hoosier out of indiana but you can't take indiana out of the hoosier.
I'm in Carmel but have lived in Fort Wayne (Waynedale) New Albany, and Indy (Speedway).
I've also lived in Milwaukee, Chicago, Michigan and Louisville, KY. (When ever the rents due we just move..... ;) )

Hi Hooserites!
I'm from rural Decker, which is in Southern Indiana, about 60 miles south of Terre Haute and about 40 miles north of Evansville. I grew up in Vincennes (9 miles away) and lived there most of my life until we moved to the country 3 years ago. I am surrounded, literally, by melons and corn in the summer months.
Oddly enough, I went to school in the 8th grade at Hammond IN, when my dad was working at the steel mill up north. We didn't stay long, and came back to Vincennes.
So good to meet you, and I'll be curious to see how many Hoosiers post here.

Fluffy...I lived in Hammond until the 5th Grade. I went to Harding elementary. I lived on Missouri Avenue. I love it when I find people from "home"!!

Ok, that explains it! We live in LaPorte County now and briefly lived in Porter County last year (in Portage, right on the Lake/Porter County Line). My sister lives in Hobart, but I've never heard her refer to that area (well, a little farther west than her) as The Region. I'll have to ask her about it smile.gif
We refered to my buddies from Gary and Crown Point as Region Rats..
Fluffy, My Wife is from Vincinnes. Her Mom and two brothers and a sister are still there. We go often.

I'm a WW leader in Indianapolis. I trained with a gal from vincinnes that had lost over 140 pounds. She started a class there about a year and a half ago and they had so many people join that they over ran the meeting place. She is truly inspirational.
Fluffy do you go to meetings there?

Wow, small world! I do WW at home since I am unable to attend the meetings. I was in the class of 1971 at Lincoln High School (when it was still located downtown) and probably know your wife's family or have at least heard of them. I have a nephew and a few friends who live in Indy. My family likes to visit Indy, especially the IMAX theater there.
Take care,
Fluffy
Fluffy,
My wife's maiden name is Weiler. She went to school here in Indy but her brothers Paul and Carl went to Lincoln. Paul is 50 so the times would match.
That was the year I graduated too.

Hi, everyone!
My name is Toni and I live in Brown County! I graduated fromBrown County High School in 1990, and I went to the IU School of Music from 1990 - 1995. I work for AAA in Bloomington, and I sing for a band called Four Sexes, a jazz/blues/latin band - we play in downtown Indy! Come check us out sometime! We play at Nicky Blaine's(the old King Cole)on Meridian and Washington St, just off the circle, every Tuesday night from 9pm to 1am, and Ruth's Chris on Illinois one Sunday a month. We also do a lot of private gigs. I've been here at BCB since Sept of 2002, and I've lost a total so far of 107 pounds. I'm starting to get close to my goal, and since I've been doing this on my own (I didn't join), I owe most of my support and inspiration to all of you at this website, so I send large amounts of love!!!!!!!
YAY, HOOSIERS!!!!!!! graemlins/crazy.gif
Congrats TB
I would love to see you play. I will let you know if my wife and I are planning to come.
I'm a leader in Carmel and would be glad to help if you want any advice. Tho...it sounds like I might want to ask you for advice ;)
