I was reading proverbs last night and found gluttony mentioned several times. This got me to thinking about over eating in my life prior to WW.
Then when I was in church today, a prayer was said that basically said our lives on earth are boot camp for heaven.
I find it interesting that God has put these references to me to, I believe help me with my weight loss.
I know that he wants us all to be healthy to do his work while we are here on earth.
God, keep us from gluttony, and bless us all. Kathy

Gluttony has been a concept I've explored recently. It's sin. So I believe I need to accept God's forgiveness, forgive myself and hand the problem over to Him. What has been helping me for the last couple of weeks is the realization that gluttony definitely will raise its ugly head, and I need to be mature enough to say NO!
I'm mid fifties yet I think my times of gluttonous behavior are very similar to infantile behavior hence my use of the word mature.
My God remind us to say NO!

Ahmen Ladies. I think the tough part for me is the realization that this "sin" is visible to everyone, so why would I continue? A question I can not answer right now, except to pray "Lord, help me to make wise food choices, and to say no when there are non available."

Gluttony has special challenges that other *sins* against the temple do not:
We have to fuel our bodies - food is something we cannot walk away from - very different than addictions to tobacco, alcohol, sex...all the things humans tend to overindulge in. And while gluttony puts us at war with an essential part of our life, it also is more obvious to others - and brings about unecessary judgement.
I can only hope that this testing is preparing me for something wonderful in the future tongue.gif
