Hi, If you have never tried Talapia (fish) you are missing a treat. It's a very light fish and cooks very well in the George Forman grill. I season with lemon pepper. There is never a fishy taste to this fish. It is wonderful. :D ;) tongue.gif

Talapia is our favorite fish! I pan fry it (with or without a touch of oil), sprinkeled with cajun spice! You're absolutely right..it's light and no fishy taste! You've all got to try it!!!

I went to a restaurnt and I ordered it after hearing so much about it. It was really really good.
Right, no fishy taste. Thank you for the reminder, I'll include it in my next grocery shopping trip.

Boy! Are you all right about this fish. It grills great in the George. We usually grill it with just lemon, pepper and parsley but I tried the new Grill Mates seasoning packets (not the jars but the packets). Throw the directions away (they call for a lot of oil and make a semi-liquid rub and way too many points  ). We used the Teriaki and just sprinkled it on the Tilapia fillets and it was great for a change of pace and added no points!!!! ;)

What's the texture like?
I tend to enjoy halibut, shark, and the rare bit of salmon. Have just purchased some Alaskan Cod, and going to try breading that sometime this week when it is my turn to cook...

Bill, I think talipia is light and reminds me of flounder a little. It doesn't taste fishy at all. From the sounds of it you are a real fish expert. I'm kinda wimpy when it comes to fish. I can't eat fishy fish :D but, I do love salmon. (with lots of lemon) If you try it let me know what you think.

I first tried Tilapia at Red Lobster on my B-day.. The BF found it at the store the other day in frozen fillets.. We baked it (1 lemon pepper, 1 cajun) and it was delicious... We have a little Foreman grill, maybe I should try that next time.. But yes, it is now officially my favorite fish.. Not "fishy" tasting at all.. I would recommend it to anyone.. smile.gif
