Howdy Preggo Buddies! graemlins/wave.gif

So far so good here. I am 21 weeks and feeling sporatic movement a few times per day. I am really looking forward to the kick counts starting in a few weeks.

We are having lots of fun trying to figure out a spanish or potuguese or basque name for our little boy. Any suggestions are welcome. So far our short list consists of the following:
Miguel
Diego
Rafael
Joaquin (pronounced "wah-keen")
Vicente
Duarte
We should have something settled by April. :D

Anyway, I hope everyone is well. Belly rubs to all.

Just found out that DH and I are expecting baby 2. I have to go get my first ultrasound on Christmas Eve. I will see when I will be due. Kind of scared. I lost 40 lbs after my daughter was born but only gained 16 lbs while pregnant with her. Any suggestions will be great. Any advice will help me ease my mind.

Thanks

Howdy Lori! graemlins/wave.gif

Congrats on your little one.

As far as weight goes, during the first trimester anything goes. Do what you can if you suffer from morning sickness. Otherwise go to maintenance point level by adding 4 points and see how it goes. You may gain more this time around since you are a lot closer to your goal weight. Don't freak.

What a great Christmas present! :D

What kind of exercise does everyone do while pregnant? I was running, doing Tae-bo, lifting weights all before I became pregnant. With my DD I even played volleyball until I was 7 months pregnant.

graemlins/bcbsalute.gif man your keyboards!!! its an invasion from ttc!!! graemlins/wave.gif howdy, i was lurking, and i wanted to say to tricia i like joaquin. actually, i love that name! and, though im not pg yet...everything i have read (and i have read a bit on it) says you can continue to do any kind of exercise you did before you got pg, just dont start a new program. of course, you would want to double or triple check with your dr or midwife (a shameless plug for midwives...im going to school to be one). i think my fit magazine this month said that high impact ones (swimming, running, etc...) were good...i will go scrounge up the magazine and let you know for sure....just me two cents!!! as you were.... graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Thanks to everyone! I actually pretty excited this is my second baby. I have a DD that is 15 months old. She will almost be 2 by the time the new baby arrives. If I calculated correctly I will be due the beginning of August but I will see what the doctor says. I am a busy mom and student. I attend school to become a medical assistant and also take classes at a community college to persue my dream of being a nurse. I want to be either a pediatric (teminally ill) or NICU nurse. Now with this new baby things are scrunched once again. I had a great pregnancy with my DD and hope the same for this one. I only gained 16 lbs and hope for the same this time. I am glad everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work!

hi guys...just being nosy to see if Jen or Fiona had joine dyou guys.
Tricia...I lovethe name Diego!
My baby Kaden is now just over 6 weeks old and is a delight. I really enjoy him. I think because I am so much more relaxed that with the my first or second. the one and only thing that isn't going as planned is having to get the other kids off to school and pre school when I have just gone back to bed from feeding baby an hour earlier...

this too is a phase and it will pass the same way it did with the other boys.

Kaden has a blocked tear duct and must have drops with polysporin to try to clear it up.

Other than that I am doing fine...I had gained over 52 pounds while prego and have another 30 to lose still!!!1 arghhh.
It seems to be harder to get strictly back on WW !

Will chat later

Hi everyone-

I haven't posted in looong time -- I kind of said hello and then didn't make it back for a while.

Glad everyone is doing fine -- congratulations, Lori! I'm also pregnant with my second -- I have a DD who will be four when the baby arrives. Maybe exactly four -- I'm due one day after her birthday!

I'm feeling much better -- had a pretty rough first trimester. I've gained about 7 pounds, which I'm pretty happy with for 14 weeks. I had the "must eat every hour" kind of nausea, so for a while I was worried I'd put on more... But I'm right about where my midwife wants me to be, so I'm not going to stress about it.

Regarding exercise, I'm doing exactly what I was doing before getting pregnant, just less of it and with less intensity. Weight training 1-2x/week, kickboxing and martial arts 2-3x/week. Nothing too high-impact of course -- no sparring. And the kickboxing class is really an aerobics class that I can tone down or up depending on how I feel. I just bought Leisa Hart's FitMama DVD and a prenatal yoga DVD, so I'm thinking I'll probably transition to those when the other things get too intense.

In prenatal news, I had the nuchal translucency screening for Downs Syndrome last week, and the numbers were very good. Whew! And I got an ultrasound as part of it, which is always fun. Too early to see the sex -- we'll find that out at our regular 19-week ultrasound in January.

Wow, I'm babbling now. Hope everyone has a great week.

Angela
