hi all you guys. I will start by saying that I have a cracked sacrum and thatis why I have not been able to make my post up untiln ow. I had d/h type a few private e-mails a few days ago as I dictated but that was it.
On the 14th of Oct I went in to the dr for my regular visit and my temp and b/p were WAY TOO HIGH. I gained 8 pounds of fluid in 7 days as well.

I then went for a stress test. I was 6 days over at this point. Baby was fine inside though.
Showing no signs of labour they were going to induce. then they decided to just have me arrive back in the AM and decide after a long sleep if the bp is still too high....not good as baby can get lack of oxygen and be stressed.
I arrived with hubby & mom at 8am and was induced and ready to go home at about 10. We took it easy and I had back labour every 5 min for most of the day but nothing to complain about in the least and we just carried on as in a regular day.. nothing labourish at all. I was to return to the hospital at 3:30 for a second induction....BUT at 2pm I was in the bath and they started to come faster and last longer. DH dressed me after helping me out oft he tub. We got ready and were on the way to the hospital as we drive so slow though the school zones ( 4 of them) and a huge funeral mass! By the time we got to the hospital is was 3:15. Admitted by 3:30
DH parks in the no parking handicap parking with the truck while mom lets me out of her car. we took 2 vehivcles as there were lots of picking up and dropping off going on....dh takes me in the hospital and my mom takes off. She needed to go get my middle son from the ferry ( spent the night with papa) and then she had to meet the bus as dh's mom arrived in town at he same time...
Mom gets the other child from the neighbours home and dh's mom then takes them all back to our house...and leaves for the hospital again. Poor MIL- instant baby sitter! lol.
Mom arrives back at the hospital about 4pm as I go into very active labour and the bag of waters and my show erupts all atthe same time!. Hubby keeps saying don't look and mom nearly faints!
I was begging for drugs and was "apparently ony 4cm" according to the nurse. the dr. arrives about 3 minutes later, checks and I am 8-9 cm. Still begging for drugs I am told it was too late. I scream evern louder for ANY type drugs!!
Remember that the first baby was 18 hours and the 2nd was 26.......so when they say I still have 1cm to go I am thinking that means another at least 10 hours! lol
the dr asks me to speak to him and I say no I am busy and can't he see I am in labour! heheh
I am on my side like a wild boar at this point.
As he turns me over to see if I am yet at 10cm (just2 min had passed since last checked) and the baby is crowning. 1 push for the head, one for the shoulders/body and one for the placenta...
his head was like a c-section baby. No crowning at all since it happened so fast.no drugs except nitrous oxide( sp)- laughing gas.........
I will say though that having something to compare it to that I would have taken the longer labour and the epidural than the shorter one with non. ThatI am very serious about.
So- we got there at about 3:30 and he was born at 5:34 pmon October 15th 2003@!

Now for the hard past..trying to post pictures. anyoneknow how??? I will try to get it into my signature for you all.

YOU GUYS...I CAN'T SEEM TO GETTHE PICTURES IN IT...CAN SOMEONE HELPME. I HAVE LIKE 12 PICS I WANNA SEND AT LEAST ONE TO YOU GUYS!

Congratulations Lisa!! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

My second was born 2hrs after arriving at the hospital and my third was born 30 MINUTES after I got into a labour room. Thank goodness for the laughing gas as I was too late for drugs too!! graemlins/thumbup.gif (Didn't have the gas option with #2 since they don't have it in the US). My first was over 20hrs long and I agree with you that a longer labour is easier than having 20hrs of pain condensed into 2hrs!

I hope that you are feeling better soon and everything is going well. Did you decide to try nursing and, if so, how is it going?
Sorry about the pictures, I only know how to load them online and post the link. I have never been able to post pictures here at BCB.

hi- well thanks you guys for trying but I really want to get somepics on here for you all to see. I just don't know how to do it. Would tere be some sort of site I can download them to and then post thelink to that site?

YES- I am trying the nursing thing. It is working to a point. He just won't wake when my breasts are full. I even go as far as having him naked, tickling toes etc...
so then I end up pumping it.
Sometimes he sleeps through an enire feeding and I am so engorged that it gets frustrating. By the time he wakes I have replenished the milk again.
I HATE the feeling or sore tender breats all the time and may end up abandoning the whole idea. I am not a person who is comfy with it and can just whip it out anywhere to do it either. So far the 7 days he has been in the world have all been inside my home...what would I do in public? no idea!!!

hey - I made a quickie little webpage with Kaden's pictures that is linked to my page. I don't mind leaving it up for a few days for everyone to see his pictures (if you don't mind Lisa - let me know if you want me to take it down)

I didn't include all of the pictures that you emailed me - because technically this is my dhs website and I am already stealing some of his space for my stuff! lol

Anyway - you can see the pictures at:
Pictures of Kaden (http://www.latelydavid.net/lisa.htm)
click on each picture to see a bigger one and then use back button on the browser to return to the original page.

Oh my goodness, he is just gorgeous! You have a beautiful family. Don't quit just yet on the BF, it'll take a few weeks for the both of you to get it down. Congratulations to you, what a blessing smile.gif .

Lisa,

What beautiful baby!!!! And a beautiful family!!! You are truly blessed!!

Thank you for sharing your photos and your birth story. Good inspiration for those yet-to-graduate TTCers!!

I am so happy for you and your family. Kaden is beautiful, you must be so proud.

Thanks again for sharing (and thanks Stephanie for posting the photos!!)

p.s. Lisa, you might want to try shutterfly.com to post your photos. I have my weight loss pics there, but i know people who have put their baby pics there. You can also buy prints taken from those digital pics from that site (that's ideally what they want, but I just use it to host photos). My friend uses photoworks.com, too. Hope that info is useful!

What a gorgeous baby!! smile.gif

I'm so glad (and jealous! ;) ) that the sleep is going so well!! How wonderful! smile.gif

I am not comfortable nursing in public myself but it's not that hard to nurse before you go somewhere and most of the time you're back home before it's time to nurse again. After the first few weeks, you'll find that the baby will wake up more and it's easier to get him to stay awake for feedings. The lactation consultant had me get the baby attached to the breast and if s/he was sleeping, just pump the arm which somehow lets them know to start moving the jaw bone. I don't know why it works, I just know it does! smile.gif

LOL! See, nursing in public isn't so bad. You just bestest the best of them. I would have run out of the store and nursed the baby in the car. Even with my third child, I could never get the angles quite right unless I was sitting down with a pillow under baby's head! graemlins/crazy.gif

I'm glad you were able to get out and have a good time! smile.gif

I spent a lot of time nursing in bathrooms! So many women's bathrooms have chairs or couches and some privacy. Half the time I'd drag a chair into the handicapped stall and put my feet up while he nursed. It was quite relaxing and at some point I'd do almost ANYTHING to relieve the pressure! :D

I'm glad to hear you're getting the logistics worked out! Congrats. It took me almost a month...

Lisa,

Your pictures are fantastic! What a handsome little guy. You must be so in love with him already. smile.gif

And, it sounds like you're doing a great job adjusting to nursing too. It's tricky sometimes to BF in public, but it sounds like you handled it like a pro. graemlins/bcbsalute.gif
