Good morning girls!

What glorious weather we're having here -- and no lightning in sight ;) Yesterday was beautiful as well. DH and I biked for miles along the Niagara River. It was great! I hope you all had nice weekends as well.

I think AF is on her way. She is due today, anyway. I have been nauseaus (sp?) this morning, my stomach hurts, and my lower back is KILLING me! (and yes, since I have a gazillion cheap HPTs, I tested, and it was as expected, a BFN). Oh well, I have that surgery next week anyway. I just hope she comes and gets out of here.

Well, I gotta keep it quick this morning. I worked all weekend and still have even more to do! Catch you girls later!

Have a great OP day!

Hi everyone

Well I am here but it is going to take me a while to write this as my eyes have gotten worse so it is back to the IV treatments. How many times can I go through this. Well I need to see right so I guess I have to keep on going. I have an appointment at 12:30 today and will find out more.

Just to follow up on one of the topics last friday - we didn't lose power last thrusday - well only for a couple of minutes and we thought it was beacuse Niagara Mohawk was working on the line. We didn't even know until my Dad called from Australia at 5:30pm and asked if we had power. Silliest thing - Ni Mo came and worked on the lines on Friday again and we lost power then for 25 minutes. And I agree with Elmira and Jenn it was a beautiful day here thursday and if there was a lightning strike we would have been getting that weather too but nope - there was no lightening strike.

I go in tomorrow and get the results of the biopsy. Don't know what they will say but I am sure that we will be pushing the issue about getting other treatments done. So hopefully that will go well.

Jenn: Sorry that the witch is on her way. She didn't hang around here long which all things considered was a good thing.

Shelly: Glad to here that you got your meds and you will O like clockwork. Are you back to temping?

Elmira: Hope your trip home thursday wasn't too bad. And have you tested yet?

Dune: Glad to hear that you had a good vacation.

Surfergirl: Did you get your horse yet?

Well I think I will stop now. Have a great day.

Hi ladies!
I'm back from my vacation. We had a wonderful time visiting family & friends, as well as playing tourist along the way. Over 3800 miles of driving, but worth it. :D

Fiona~I'm so sorry to hear about your eyes & the bfn. I just finished catching up on last weeks thread & had really hoped for you. Big hugs.

Elmirady~Any testing yet?

Surfergirl~Happy belated birthday!

Jenn~Sorry to hear about the bfn. I'm agree that once one of us is pg, the rest will follow like dominos.

Shellys~Good luck with the house hunt.

Dune~Is your name for the Sand dunes in Oregon? We visited them on our vacation. Also went through Portland on the Interstate, but didn't stop.

June & anyone else I've missed~Hope everything is going well.

Morning.

I am still without a horse. The owner was totally against taking off the shoes for the x-rays and the vet and, more importantly, I were adamant about getting the x-rays before I would purchase the horse. So the deal is off. I'm getting my deposit check back and she is getting the vetting results. I'm off on Wednesday to go look at another prospect. The funny thing is that I feel lighter by turning down the horse. Like deep down I knew there was something wrong with him and I shouldn't be buying this horse. My stomach was getting upset and I was popping tums like crazy. Now I feel so much better.

I made shrimp creole for dinner this week and I think I made it too spicy. DH, the hot sauce king, loves it. The spicy is keeping me from eating too much of it so I'm having to eat more rice to keep my points within range. We've got at least 2 or 3 more days of it left.

Aprilk - Welcome back! I'm glad you guys had fun on your vacation. I love vacation. What was your favorite part?

Jenn - Sorry about the BFN and the AF symptoms. But at least you can get this surgery out of the way and make yourself as healthy as you can be for the baby.

Elmirady - Did you test yet? Oh please be a BFP!

Fiona - Hugs to you. I hope this infection can be cleared up right soon and you can get back with TTC.

Dune - How's it going?

Hi friends, I've been MIA - I was away on holiday during my 2 week vacation. Enjoyed myself immensely - it's so nice to be able to get away from all the work-stuff for a while! Today was my first day back in work again. Busy as one might expect.

Guess what - I'm probably insane!! During the vacation I found a baby store having a 40%-off sale on AVENT products. Soo..... I purchased "just a few things": the Isis breast pump, 7 bottles, spare rings and domes, 14 teats diferent sizes, disposable feeding system with 80 spare disposable bags and several teats, a so-called milk storage kit, 4 milk containers (basically bottles with rings and sealing disks), pacifiers, spare sealing discs etc.....I also got two baby sleeping-bags. ;-D It was fun, and it's fun looking at the stuff! I figure even if I won't ever get pregnant at least I can enjoy this - and if we adopt, I'll still need bottles and stuff, and they're handy as baby-shower gifts. And I wish I'd bought the bottle heating appliance while I was at it!

BTW - I also just ordered 5 (yes five) child-care books from Amazon. I already have all the pregnancy books that look interesting, so I figure it's time to move on ahead in time!

Other than that, I'm expecting AF tomorrow (12 dpo today), and I think I'm starting to feel some slight cramping, so she's on her way :-( Well, I didn't expect much from this month, we were only able to BD on cd10 because of his travelling, and I O'd on cd 12. Not good timing.

Jenn - sorry to hear that AF is on her way to you too.

Fiona - I hope your appointment went well, and all the best wishes to you.

Emirady - have you tested?

Hi, babydust/o-dust to everyone!

Dune! Holy crap! I'm so sorry to hear about DH's broken wrist, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. When you started writing about the extended vacation I was thinking good things. If he didn't get pain pills at the hospital last night get him some today. He's going to be in pain for awhile. Poor thing!

My day was much less dramatic. I have been told that I will be "filling in" for (see also, doing all the work for) the website editor position until we hire someone new. This should be fun. Did I also mention that I don't get overtime? A friend of mine bought me the "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" for my birthday. It's really interesting. I had no idea that 50% of all unplanned pregnancies happen because the contraceptive failed. Plus I'm becoming excited about being able to listen to my body in a more educated manner. I can mostly tell the day of that AF is coming, but I have no clue about what is happening the other days of my cycle. DH is also "intrigued" by the book. I've left it on the coffee table just in case his curiousity gets the better of him. smile.gif

I hope y'all have a great day!

Good morning ladies. It was very busy at work yesterday so I didn't get a chance to post. I tested and got a BFN and I can feel the old witch sending me cramps today, so I am forwarding my baby dust off to anyone who may need some right now!

Dune - OMG that sounds like the trip back home from he**! I hope your husband's hand feels better soon and that the insurance gets straightened out!

Fiona - What did the Dr. have to say? I hope your eye starts to cooperate again like NOW!

Shellys- When we bought our current house (a year and half ago) we bought it without selling our 1st house and no contingency to sell it either. We qualified for our mortgage with the existing mortgage on the house we already owned. As it turns out we did sell it, as I knew we would, but it was a wee bit stressful there for a bit thinking about possibly making 2 mortgage payments. We planned on renting it out if we did not sell it. Good luck on your house hunting and selling your current one!

Jenn - I think I'm gonna have to break down and order some OPKs and HPTs from that website you posted!

June/April - graemlins/wave.gif How are you guys doing today?

Well, I gotta get back to work. So Hi to anyone I may have missed, and who need some baby dust cuz I've got some to spare now!!!!

I'm currently "working" overtime, so I guess I'd better pack up and leave for home.

Take care you all,

Hi all,
I'm currently swamped at work trying to get caught up from having been gone. I probably should've canceled my vacation, but when we planned it my schedule looked okay. I guess there's always something that will be added to my workload right before a vacation.

Dune~I'm sorry to hear about your dh's hand & your experience. I hope he's feeling better soon.

Elmirady~I had really thought this would be your month. Sorry to hear about the bfn.

Surfergirl & June~Sounds like you both have been working a lot.

Hello & babydust to everyone else. It's bound to happen for one of us very soon! :D

hey!!! im baaaaaaack!!! vacation was good...and extended an extra day. we drove home (my in laws gave my brother a car, and we had to drive it home), and about an hour and a half away from home, we had a blow-out. which was crappy enough on its own. here is where i wanna give a little background. im not superstitious at all. BUT on friday, my fil asked us if we wanted to stay in san jose with his niece on saturday night, so we could save money. we said sure. when my mil printed out driving directions, she prited them from thier house to san jose, then from san jose to our house. i looked at the mileage--354 for the first leg, and 666 for the second. i told her you know, maybe i DONT want to stay in san jose after all. she laughed and said, drive around a little before you go. well, maybe we shoulda....
our blowout was the front left tire, which put us right on the edge of the freeway to change it. oh, also let me tell you this car is a 1976 ford LTD station wagon, a huge, heavy old car. so we pulled the left two tires off onto the gravel, and left the right ones on the asphalt, so dh wouldnt be in the middle of the interstate while changing the tire. he pulled out the jack, which turned out to be old, skinny, and feeble. and jacked up the car. the higher the jack went, the more unstable the car got. finally, it was high enough to get the tire onto the wheel, and dh was trying to line it up right. as soon as he had it lined up, an 18-wheeler went by, and the air turbulence unbalanced the car on the jack, and it fell (the car) onto his hand, smashing it between the tire and the wheel well. neither one of us knew what to do, he was screaming at me his hand was gonna fall off, and call 911, i was screaming, i dont know what to do, and we were both trying to push the car off his hand. finally, he managed to push the car and get his hand out, i called my dad (who was an hour and a half away), and we had to wait. in the meantime, a very nice stranger came and changed our tire for us, my dh's hand kept swelling, dad showed up, we got home at 2, instead of 10, as planned, we went to emergency and found out dh broke his wrist in two places. soooo, i got to bed at the time i shoulda been getting up for work, and it was sooooo stressful. so my poor dh is stuck home for at least this week, his arm in a splint, and the insurance gave him the runaround today. he was supposed to call an ortho doc to get a real cast, and they were like, well, the er gave you the wrong number, call this one, and the other number had no idea why he was calling. so, we have to wait until tomorrow, and try again. graemlins/sobbing.gif i have to go unload my car and go to bed, cuz its late, and i DO have to go to work tomorrow. ill get you all on personals later....

Good morning everyone! Well the ole witch flew in yesterday right after I typed my post here! Hopefully she'll be gone soon! I am getting ready to be on vacation next week! We are not really doing much, maybe like I said before, going to Niagara Falls, but basically staying home to finish up some things around the house and to do some fun stuff with DD before school starts. Oh yeah, and closing on the refinancing of our home.

So off to work I go here, as I have a ton to do before I am off next week. Have a great day everyone. I'll try to get back for personals later today!

As you may have seen above I've been reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It is great! Very easy to read and understand. Now I'll get to use this information to figure out what my body is doing, exactly. And on top of that I think I ovulated yesterday - had an aching pain in my lower left ab. I guess we'll see in about 2 weeks, right? I've even caught my DH looking through the book and he's been asking me questions like, "Does your body really do this?"

DH is leaving on Friday see his folks. I will be remaining here with the cats. So, it's a chick weekend. There will be sad, romantic movies, pizza that can have ham and pineapple on it that I don't have to share, and meditation time. Me time! Me time! I'm toying with the idea of painting the bedroom while he's gone, but that seems like an awful lot of work to get done in 3 days. Maybe I can get my friend Alan to help. Hmmmm....

Elmirady - Sorry the witch showed up. I had some high hopes for you.

Dune - I hope your DH's hand is feeling better today.

Jenn- Our computer system has been going haywire as well. Maybe it's regional.

I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well. So who's next for the baby dust?

TCOYF is a great book- Kel(whos on the Preggie board due in Oct) told me to read it when we dirst all began this group and it was fascinating !! I temp and chart(not this month) and its the best most helpful thing that showed me something wasnt right in my body- if I hadnt begun the I would be thinking everything is fine and wondering why I wasnt pregnant!!! Good morning girls,

Sorry about being so MIA, but the new job, in combination with being off next week for my surgery, is really cutting into my internet surfing time ;)

With my surgery, TTC has not been my focus at all. It really is no big deal, but except for wisdom teeth I have never had anything done to me, so I had a little "breakdown" Wednesday night. I'm freaking about the actual surgery (I had my pre-surgical testing on Tuesday, I guess you need to do that because of the anesthetic) and they scare the crap out of you. You might have this side-effect, you might have that complication. Geesh! Now I know why I have been putting this off for 4 years! But then, I start to worry about WHY I am having the surgery in the first place -- to take out the enlarged lymph nodes. And I made the biggest mistake you could make: type in "enlarged lymph nodes" in google and see what you get. Lots and lots of cancer. That was the cause of my little Wednesday breakdown. But DH has been great -- he very calmly explained that if my doctor was so concerned about the nodes, he would have insisted that they be removed 4 years ago. And if I really wanted to, I could probably have bargained with him some more to not remove these again. Then, my crazy little head was telling me that maybe the reason we haven't been successful at TTC is that there IS something wrong and God/fate/whomever is not "letting" me get pg because of... well I think you can see, all sorts of crazy going on in this head!!! graemlins/crazy.gif But I have calmed myself down, because a) I might make my surgery go worse if I am too worked up and b) God forbid there was something wrong, leaving the nodes in there isn't going to make the problem go away, right? I would just have to deal with it. A lot of people have a lot worse things to deal with, so I just need to grow up and deal!!!

Sorry about that, I guess I just needed to get that off my chest. I feel especially bad complaining, Fiona, because I know just how much you've been through, and I'm just being a big ol' baby.

Now, enough about my crazy state-of-mind. Personals! It's been a while so I'm really behind!

shellys ~ Have you guys found a house yet? And did you get AF and on the meds yet???

Fiona ~ How are you doing? Has your eye stabilized? And what were the results of your biopsy? What's next?

april ~ Welcome back (belatedly) from your vacation! Sorry there are no BFP to report, though.

SurferGirl ~ Aw, I'm sorry the horse didn't work out, but if you didn't have a good feeling about it anyway, it's probably for the best. And, so, I keep hearing that "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is a good read. I think I'm going to pick it up this weekend so I have something to read during recovery. And, lastly, enjoy your "chick" freedom???? ;)

June ~ Isn't it always the way, you come back from vacation and it's like a nightmare of work awaits your return?? And i think it's great that you got all that baby stuff!!! I guess all those things are super expensive, so if you can get a good deal, all the more money to spend on the "cute stuff" later!!

Dune ~ WHOAAAAAA!!!! Is DH OK? And I know EXACTLY how big the LTD wagon must be, because my aunt just had the LTD 4-door sedan and OMG it was HUGE!!!!

elmirady ~ So sorry the witch showed. Mine seems like she's just about to make her grand exit (for me, for her to come on Monday w/no 4-day prior spotting and leave on a Friday is a QUICK visit!) And you gotta get those tests from that site -- super cheap!! Looks like a nice weekend here in the Falls, I hope you have a great time! Because I am such a worry wort, I decided to keep myself super busy this weekend. Tonight is dinner and a baseball game, tomorrow we're going on the whirlpool jetboat tour and Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Sunday is a Mass for DH's uncle who passed a year ago, a breakfast, and then we're coming to my work so we can start moving me into my new office. I really wanted to find time to get to meet you, but with my self-imposed schedule and you traveling with your family, I don't know if that will happen (unless you go on the jet boat tour, and it comes highly recommended, DHs friend took his brother from NYC on it a month ago and said it rocked. That's why we're going on it! The URL, if you're interested in checking it out, is http://www.whirlpooljet.com/index2.cfm).

OK, I hope I didn't miss anyone. Babydust to SurferGirl and all else who need it! I'll try to be on later today. I most likely won't be here Monday (I go to the hospital at 6am, the surgery is at 8 and should take under an hour, and then a couple hours of recovery before they send me home), but I'll be off of work on Tuesday as well, so I know I'll pop on from home. Take care everyone and have a great weekend!!

Hi everyone. Nothing new to report here. Just finally finding my way out of the piles of papers stacked up at the office.
On the TTC front, I don't really expect anything this month. With all of our time driving, the BD wasn't as frequent as it should have been. In a way though, it's been nice not to be stressing about it this month.

Jenn~Don't feel bad for expressing your fears. Surgery of any kind is scary. I also know how scary the big 'C' word can be. I've had two diffent types of early cancers and even though the doctors said I was fine after the biopsy & removal, just hearing the word was enough to cause me a lot of sleepless nights. Having said that, it sounds like your doc has not expressed any concerns, which is a good sign. You'll be in my thoughts & prayers on Monday. Before you know it, you'll be having a BFP and glad that you took care of this now. :D

Surfergirl~I've been meaning to take a look at that book. I really need to see if they have it at the library. How was your girl time?

Elmirady~Enjoy your vacation! Are you going anywhere fun?

Dune~Any news about DH's hand?

Shellys, June, and anyone else I missed~Hope you're all doing well.

Hello everyone! This is my 1st time posting here. DH and I have been ttc for a little over 3 months. I just have this "feeling" that I am prego and I felt the need to tell someone! I have felt a little dizzy this week and this morning I was VERY sick and ran to the bathroom a few times. My monthly "friend" was due yesterday ( as far as I can tell since I never quite know when she is about to arrive).I am going to wait until Sunday to take a test since as you know, it never fails that just as you are getting ready to test, that darn friend shows up

So I don't want to tell DH that something is up until I know for sure on Sunday. I'll keep you all informed.

Yeah!!!!! I just had to let you guys know. I called my doctor to ask about the anesthetic I was going to receive on my surgery. I don't have to do general, just local. Recovery time is GREATLY reduced!!! Yes, they have to administer the local with a needle, but he said that I will receive a sedative to relax me (can I get some of those to go, too??? ;) ) and claims that it will be no more painful than drawing blood. I feel SO much better!!!!! I had bad vibes about the general anesthetic. Plus, my doctor told me when to expect results of the biopsy, but he didn't really seemed concerned about there being anything wrong. So, I feel MUCH more relaxed about the whole thing.

Thanks buddies for letting me get this off my chest!!

Welcome Hbatc graemlins/wave.gif Hope your stay here is short!

hi guys! well, dj's hand is much better than we anticipated...he only needed one of those cuff thingies that look like the supports you wear when you have carpal tunnel syndrome. its gonna take a few months to heal though. his health insurance is giving us a runaround, that we are supposed to be going through our car insurance to get it fixed. isnt that why we pay for HEALTH insurance????????? gah!!!! we are gonna start trying something new...its called the body sculpting bible for women (and there is one for men too). hopefully, i will be able to work that and points, but if not, then i will still lurk to see what you all are up to! i will miss you all too much otherwise. its a lot of weight lifting, slight cardio, and 1200-1500 calories a day. its a 40-40-20, meaning you get 40 % of cals from protein and carbs, and 20% from fat. it should work out well, and i should be looking great really soon. i decided one sport i could REALLY get into was weightlifting/bodybuilding, and so we are going for it. maybe someday i will enter competitions! anyway, my ultimate goal is to get to 13-14% body fat, which is about 16% less than what i was a year ago. anyways, i missed you all this week! jenn, good luck on your surgery!!! baby dust!

Hi everyone

Its just a quick stop in to let you all know that I am finally on the mend again. My eyes got quite bad this time and are only just now (3 days after all the IV treatments) getting better. Hopefully will be a lot better next week.

My biopsy results were fine - we are being referred off to an RE. Tet more Doctors plus I am going into counselling to deal with all the other emotional stuff (this last round of stuff was the scariest and most depressing).

Pkus I juist got the best get better news ever. My Dad might be coming to visit in 3 weeks time. Does bounching off walls describe how I am feeling.

Jenn: If you see this before monday. I hope everything goes fine with your surgery. I am sure it will be all ok. And its cool top be a big baby about things you are scared off. I am learning that a lot these days. Everyone copes differently and you need to do what is best for you. Enjoy your rest ok.

I will write more monday.

Well, being unable to wait until today to test, I decided to take a hpt yesterday. Unfortunatly...the results were not a "clear" yes or no. There was a faint positive line and still no "friend". So I will wait a week and try again. I will be sure to let you all know.

BTW...I told DH that there is a chance. I didn't tell him about the test results, I'll do that after the next try.

Blessings to all....

Hbatc-

Well, not to get your hopes us, but let me just say this. I am just now expecting my first child (I have been keeping up with this thread for a friend who does not have a computer) and I generally do not post in here, but when I saw your post I HAD to. When my husband and I were trying for this baby, I took a test that had a line so faint that my husband took one look at it and told me that I was crazy. He said that the line was probably just a shadow and that I just wanted to be preggie so bad that I was imagining things. I just could not believe that. I went for a blood test the next day and found out that I was in fact pregnant. The doctor said (and I quote) "pink is pink, no matter how light it may be." If you think that there is a tint of pink there, then it probably is wise to have a blood test. I don't know how much they cost where you are from (here they range from $10 - $25 at the local health care center) but, as a military spouse, my test was free. They should be able to get you the results by the end of the day unless they are totally backed up and then it should not be more than 24 hours. I'm not sure if you want to do all of that or not, but it would be a quick way to find out - and you would not really have to tell your dh about it until you were sure. Just a thought. I will be sending you the best wishes and baby dust all the way! Let us know what happens!!!

Jessica
