I just discovered a Trader Joe's store in my area.

Are any of you BCB a Trader Joe's shopper? What are some of your favorite items to buy? Any low point finds?

Congratulations on joining the ranks of happy Trader Joe's shoppers!

I second what was said above, and I'll also recommend that you look for their "Fearless Flyer" handout -- it's printed on newsprint, and it highlights products in each issue -- it's a great thing to browse between trips to learn about things you might not have otherwise noticed!

Enjoy!

Just want to post a caveat about the blueberry bran muffins. They're great but the nutritional info is for only half a muffin. I didn't notice this until I scarfed down an entire muffin in my car...

Jessica,

On another board someone mentioned the same thing to me regarding the blueberry muffins. There must be different selections available since I ran to my freezer & pulled mine out & redid the info. The ones I get from my TJ's are 6 small muffins per container. The other ones mentioned came 4 to a pack. Mine are called something like 99% Fat Free Blueberry Bran Muffins. These, that come 6 to a pack, are definitely only 1 pt. each.

The Fearless Flyer can be read online at the TJs website. And, yes, the stores stock different items in different parts of the country.

That's right, Judy. My store carries both but I got the four-pack! Whoops. smile.gif It was a good lesson in reading labels more carefully.

I just went there about two weeks ago and they had these awesome bean rollups for sample.

They are made with the Chili tortillas which are 3 pts a peice or 5 pts for 2 of them.

This awesome spicy black bean dip that tastes really good, some guacamole (only use a little) a sprinkle of fat free cheese and dip in salsa. I got about 8 points for 2 and they are very filling.

I also love their chinese rice crackers, their flavored granola and their gyozas or pot stickers you can have:

8 veggie for 4 points
8 shrimp for 5 points
8 chicken for 5 points

And a great dipping sauce for them is I think called red dragon. It is excellent! :D

No one's mentioned the shrimp, chicken and salmon fahitas. A great deal for only about 5 points each.
Also the Heaven's Bistro pizza. YUM!
