HI, just wondering if anyone else has polycystic ovarian syndrome? I would love to chat and find out what dietary changes have been helpful.
Thanks! smile.gif

One of my best friends has PCOS. She has definitely got good results from altering the way she eats. She feels best when she eats 5 mini meals each day, instead of 3 big meals. But the big thing is that those meals need to be a combination of protein and complex carbs. No sugary stuff, no refined flours.

She eats whole grains, and generally tries to get her carbs from things like brown rice, multi-grain cereals, veggies and fruits rather than eating squishy bread, processed cereal or sugary baked goods. An example of her daily menu would be:
7 am Cottage cheese or yogourt with fruit or cereal
10am Whole wheat crackers with cream cheese, tuna or peanut butter
1 pm Big salad with lots of veggies and some protein (fish, chicken, nuts or cheese), or small whole grain and lean meat sandwhich, or stirfry veggies with lean meat or tofu
3pm Fruit and nuts or cheese, or yogourt
6pm Big plate of veggies with a serving of protein and a small serving of brown rice, potato or whole wheat pasta

She also found that regular cardiovascular exercise was very important in regulating her blood sugar level. She did running, biking or swimming every day for at least 30 minutes.

I've got PCOS too! Great tips on eating... smile.gif thanks!

It just seems so hard to eat this way but I'll try it.
