Applesauce

Step 1. Pick the apples. I know this sounds like a joke, but really,
the applesauce is better with fresh picked apples. . For those
not near an orchard, you will have to do your picking at the local
supermarket. . You will burn less calories than those who are
out in the fields. Different types of apples will give different
flavors of applesauce. Experiment with them.

Step 2. Wash apples, peel, and core.

Step 3. Cut into quarters or eigths or whatever.

Step 4. Bring a pot of water to a boil (this is the tricky part for
me, involves hearing the smoke detector etc.). Add small quantity
of brown sugar to the water. (I always cook by pinches etc, sorry,
I cannot be more specific.) Add the apples, and turn down to a
simmer.

Step 5. When apples are mushy, fish out of pot with slotted
spoon and put them in a food processor/blender type of appliance.
(I have a wonderful machine called a vitamix. It does the job of
all those things and more. It is pricy, but I get a lot of use out of
it, and get more space on the counters.). Run on low till you have
applesauce. Do not run on high, or for too long, or you will have
applejuice.

Step 6. Serve hot or cold.
