I bought a bread maker a couple of years ago, but then went down the weight loss road & have only used it for my family since. I'd love to make some lowpoint breads in it, something I could freeze in individual servings & take out when I need something for myself. Hope someone out there has an idea or two. I don't have enough experience to mess with the recipes that came with the machine, I'd be afraid how it would come out!

Try this website for some good recipes and points. (I'm not sure if they've been updated to the new program).

Am checking out this site too -- I'll figure out some of the points and post them if you don't have Mastercook. http://www.healthdiscovery.net/ubb/smile.gif

When I joined WW, I had just received a bread machine for Xmas. I was determined to use it. I sat down and calculated all the points for the whole grain recipes that I had and they turned out to be 1 pt per ounce.
I just weigh and count.
I also make grain pizza dough recipes in it.
Good Luck.

I understand there's a low-fat, no sugar bread machine book out. Anyone seen this? I'm going to check out Amazon and see what might be out there for bread machine low-fat books. I too am looking.

In most recipes for the bread machine you can substitute whole wheat flour for the white flour to make it high fiber. I add 1 egg and the liquid required to make the 1 1/4 cup or whatever amt. is called for, just to let the bread rise a bit more. Suzanne is right, they usually work out to 1 pt per oz. Really high fiber, low fat and very nutritious. Use the recipes from the Bread Machine first so you know what to expect. Then try other recipes. I have a Black & Decker and they have excellent recipes.

Great topic! Thanks for the links fellow BCB'rs. I have a machine too but have been scared to use it for a while as I was not sure how to calculate the points for the recipes I have.
