Good Morning Buddies,

I tried to send my email address to all of you in a private message. I hope I got it right. Let me know. Today is my first golf clinic. I’m not very good, but decided that if I don’t start now, I might never do it. It’s a two-morning clinic, but the weather for tomorrow looks awful. Our LEAVEN Spring Fling was great. It was a beach theme. One of the members of my committee had several shirts that had a bikini clad figure on them, so we wore them. The volunteers are so wonderful, giving of many hours of their time for LEAVEN, which is a grass-roots community organization that helps people in need. There is a beginning of a website that explains our mission. It is www.leavenfoxcities.com. (http://www.leavenfoxcities.com.) THIS DOESN'T WORK FROM THE MESSAGE (thanks Steve), BUT WILL AT THE ADDRESS LEVEL OF YOUR PROGRAM. I have been on the board for 10 years and chair of special events for 7 of these years. Besides providing grants (about $500,000) last year, LEAVEN acts as a clearing house to provide other resources to clients as well as to prevent abuse of the non-profit circuit.

Dawna – I hope all is well, as you haven’t posted yet, so I decided to write off-line. I hope DH tooth is better. My laundry is in the basement. Not my favorite, but it’s an old house. The dryer wasn’t even vented when we bought the house. I bet that the next owners bring the laundry room to a small room on the second floor. I’ve thought about it, but since the kids are gone, I don’t have as much laundry these days.

Steve – The various ways that money was made at the ADA event included
1- Tables of 10 were $1500
2- Silent auction items (probably too many)
3- Live auction
4- Sold champagne for $50/glass that included raffle ticket for pair of diamond earrings
5- Announcement that there was a large matching grant for a pledge of $500 or more to send a child to camp
That’s about all I can remember. In the past they received large amounts of money from a couple of pharmaceutical companies, but that money has stopped for some legal reason.

Cathy – My thoughts were with you all day yesterday. Hope today goes well. I know Boris will be our last dog as we are traveling more and it’s not fair to a dog.

Tracey – I hope today isn’t too frantic. After my golf clinic, I’m going to review all that I’ve learned at Pilates. It’s pretty overwhelming, but I love it.

Amy – It must be hard having a DH traveling. Will he be able to take some time when your DD arrives? Do you have family living close to you to help? Our last DS was born after we moved from the Chicago area and we had no relatives here. My DM came for two weeks and was a major help with the baby and I was able to give the other kids attention, take them to school, lessons, etc. There was 5 years difference between my 2nd and 3rd.

I’d better sign off now. If Dawna hasn’t posted yet, I’ll start the thread.

Hugs,

Sue

P.S. Here is the reply that I posted last night.

I'll email this again tomorrow. Would you mind sending me your email addresses so if we have a major meltdown I could email you a message. I do rely on your messages and I do worry about sites such as ours. We are few, but very important.

Good morning buddies,

Been lurking more than posting lately. Lawn and garden season is kicking in and we're very busy with all prep work for the various beds and gardens.
Today I have a 20 pound turkey in the oven. Dh and others are going to our cottage in Northern WI this weekend to cut and split 5 cords of wood. Supposed to be chilly and chance of rain. Hot turkey and gravy sandwiches will go over well with the wood cutting bunch.

Dawna, Hope dh is feeling better. He's certainly had a stretch of health concerns lately.

Sue, How about this weather! It finally warms up for a couple days but the darn wind makes it difficult to get much done outdoors. Oh well, that is spring in Wisconsin.

Steve, Tracey, Cathy, Amy and other friends -
Hello and hope your week is going well. they sure do fly by. May already!(well almost)

Fond regards to one and all,
Sheryl

Sue... I got your PM. Thanks my email addy is in my profile please feel free to put it in your address book. That's why I put it there when I joined the bootcamp.

Steve... Thanks for starting our day today.

Dawna... Missing you this morning. Praying that things are ok in your world.

Sheryl... Good to see you. Your turkey sounds yummy.

Amy... Thank you buddy. I've never had to experience DH being away on business. Although I went a few times in the past when the kids were young and it was the pits. Hang in there buddy. I bet he misses you as much as you miss him being home. :D

Have a wonderful day buddies :D

Tracey... Thanks buddy. Did you ever get any of the emails that I sent?

Good morning goal buddies! Where's Dawna? Hope you're okay buddy!

Amy was right!! We've got tons of sunshine and clear blue skies this morning! graemlins/crazy.gif It would've been a perfect day to drive my car...DF and I got it out of storage last night and drove it home in the dark because it's out of inspection. I have an appt. Saturday morning for inspection, emission and oil change--then after that I can drive it again!! Yeah! Right now it's just sitting in my driveway waiting..... tongue.gif

Hey Mr. Sunshine! Thanks for sharing that sun with us--we appreciate it! Glad to hear that your trip went well and that you've arrived home safely. Enjoy this beautiful day today--I bet your run this morning was glorious!

Sue, good for you for taking the golf clinic. I still have my late father's golf clubs, but just can't bring myself to take lessons and use them....maybe someday. He absolutely loved golfing (second to my mother and myself. ;) ) He always said he wished he had started sooner too. Enjoy yourself and don't worry whether you're good or not--the fun is just doing it! BTW, great idea about the email addresses. I sent you mine--thanks for sharing yours. smile.gif

Morning Sheryl! You are so right--I have no idea where April went! Yikes--time really does fly when you get old.... er, older I meant to say! tongue.gif

Kathy, I'm so sorry that you are enduring another loss, albeit a furry friend, they're still part of the family. You've been on my mind since I read your post--please take care and know that we're praying for you. graemlins/kiss.gif

Amy, did you say that it's possible that DH will be traveling less by the time DD arrives? I hope so--you sound so much like me! I'm lost when DF is away on business. He was in Baltimore from Sunday until Tuesday evening and if you would've talked to me, you would've thought he was gone for a month! LOL It's nice when they come home, though, huh??? ;) Enjoy this glorious day!

Gotta go buddies! Make it a good one and take care! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Editing to answer your question Kathy--nope, never did get your emails...sorry!
