Good Morning Ladies,

I cannot believe that I am the first one here this morning. My boys are still sleeping so I thought I would hop on here quick. I guess I will get us started.

I hope that all of you had a good weekend. It was a nice one here. We got a lot of stuff accomplished around the house, but are still trying to catch up on sleep due to daylight savings time and the NCAA Basketball games. ;) I guess I will just have to keep the coffee brewing.

Tonight is WI again. It always seems to come up so fast. I had apretty good OP week, but the scale is not showing that.

Raidermom It sounds like your dinner went very well. The dessert looked absolutely wonderful. My weight has not budged since I looked at it. :D My guests ended up cancelling due to ill health. We are going to try again in a couple weeks.

Well that is all for now, I need to get a couple of my DS's up for school.

Have a great OP day to all of you.

Hi, ladies,

I'm just crashing this board for a minute to post a message to Raidermom - Sudafed has "psuedoephedrine," which I think is contra-indicated with most heart medications. Definitely stay the heck away from that until you see your dr. again. In fact, stay away from ALL medications until you see your dr. again. You never know what the side effects will be.

And that dessert looked GREAT! Any chance you could PM me with the recipe or an internet link to it?

Good morning ladies!

I'm in a chipper mood this morning despite it SNOWING all day yesterday!!! But it was hovering just under freezing and the ground is warm (since last Sunday it was 70!!) so we only got an inch or two at home, and less here at work. This morning it is SUNNY (and freezing!!), not a cloud in the sky. I totally didn't expect that, since the weather people here have been forecasting nothing but doom and gloom for this week, maybe that's what's workin' on my mood!

I'm looking forward to this week.. Tuesday I'm buggin' out of work a couple of hours early to go the Broadway Market (like an outdoor farmer's market, but indoors) with my mom and aunt (a family tradition at Easter) to buy all the traditional Polish foods I shouldn't eat (I'm a little bit Polish, but who isn't in Buffalo?), Thursday my mom and I are going the see "The Passion," and Saturday my mom and aunt and I are going to get our easter baskets (with food for easter breakfast/dinner) blessed at church. Easter is a big deal for my mom and aunt, and I love keeping the tradition alive. I can't wait to pass that tradition on to my child one day!! And then Easter Monday (day after Easter) I'm taking a vacation day and going to IKEA with (you guessed it) my mom and my aunt (and my mom's friend, too). Maybe that's why I'm in great mood!

Wendy ~ Ah, yes, the NCAA Tourney. I started to learn basketball so I wouldn't lose my husband the entire month of March. In fact, DH and his brother and their dad has tickets to the 1st and 2nd rounds here in Buffalo. They got to see UConn play.

I need to read the end of last week's thread to catch up, but I'll end here now. graemlins/wave.gif to everyone, and have a great OP day and week!!

Hi All,
Today is another day, all my flex are gone, YAY!! this is a good thing. (I think) Dh went to the local Canadian Tire yesterday and came home with a toy rack with 6 different colored baskets so this morning the boys and I have been sorting toys, Cars in this box, cars in this box, cars in this box, Seasame street in this box but I'm still being overloaded by toys. My SIL is expecting in August 4days before my Due date 5yrs ago with mr4 and so I'm collecting some "things" to bring down for Easter weekend. That is helping the "sort" since the boys are finished with some of the baby toys and i'm lookign for parts to other toys, I found almost all the parts to a mobile, when we moved last August a lot of the things got thrown in any old box for the move. So today is Monday weighin is Wednesday there are veggies in the house, I've used 5/22 points fpr the day and so far so good, I feel good about the day. Theboys finally got their hair cuts Saturday and they look so cute!! And their grandmothers wont think we are neglecting them when we visit. dh is very into long hair on boys and girls but grandmas like short neat hair cuts. tongue.gif Mine gets done tongiht, I had my name on the list for Sat but I figured it was too much for dh to take both boys walking the mall while I was in getting mine done so I'm going tonight after supper, (remembe that ham I mentioned? I skipped it and had leftover chili sooooo tonight is ham)
CherylR love that cake picture, it looks soooo pretty, how many points does it work out to when you make it?
Cheryl39 I love your posts about me, It makes me think again about what i've said, what I'm doing and how I'm following through, Thanks!!
Calgal, I'm not Cheryl but thanks for posting that here, I may need to know that for dh.
And Wendyj thanks for posting first!! How manyboys did you say you had? 3? I know I've said thsi before but I have not clue how I'm going to manage School here in September, And would love to have 1-2 more kids I don't know though if I can do it in practice, theory I'm even scared? I wonder if I should have started this idea earlier? like when mr2 was say 1? no that sounds crazier than all the other previous plans, OK well as usual I've rambled on and on.
Nancy YAY!! on the vanishing Rolls, that is so great all the things you do for everyone, I hope you are doing something for you too, smile.gif
Carol I was thinking about you this morning and your talk of shorts, wehn I saw the 2cm of "new" snow on my front and back lawn, will someone please tell the "snow" fairy I'm DONE, I really think she/he is ignoring my needs to get out of the house!! and play in the drive way without being up to my eyeballs in white stuff or brown icky mud!! April showers better bring some VERY VERY VERY pretty flowers, and stop coming down white.
OK finally done rambling HAPPY MONDAY!!!!!

Hi Jen, I hear you on the snow, and easter, i'm trying really hard to figure out how mr E Bunny is getting to my mom's next weekend. smile.gif Are you taking Friday off? We have it off completely here in Canada, smile.gif YAY!!! My dh is Polish, his mom's Sister was born in Poland but came to Canada when she was 9 and then I think Darren's mom was born in Canada. If it makes you feel better read my last post, more white stuff here too, can you talk to the snow fairy? Well time to go and excerise,

Good morning buddies,

We have Jenn's snow! We got a couple inches as well, and it's icy enough that school is delayed an hour. It's sunny and cold (18F/-8C). I'm working from home this morning while the roads get a chance to thaw. It's hard to believe that I played golf a week ago. With no jacket.

I still have my cold, but I feel a lot better now that the "cycle" stuff has subsided. The sunshine helps too! I'm working on catching up on my sleep. 3, maybe 4 days of work this week, and I'm off for a week.

Wendy, my dd is learning basketball and hockey so she can watch with dh. I will sometimes watch too.

Easter is big here, and I have finally gotten it to be at home rather than a travel holiday. Our church has an egg hunt and we'll have a nice ham dinner. We will have Easter baskets but not a whole lot of candy. My dd will be an acolyte with yet another new job so she is excited. We'll leave for our ski vacation on Monday.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Kyoot, we crossed in cyberspace!

Mr. E Bunny can find you wherever you are. He's almost as smart as Santa! ;) I used to have caving friends in Canada and I was always jealous of their 4-day Easter weekend. I had to take vacation to go on their trips then. 3 boxes of cars?!? My dd is overloaded with toys too. You will manage school somehow. It will be exciting for mr4.

We are not Polish but there are enough Polish around here that you can get all the goodies. The churches do major fund-raisers during Lent making stuff and selling it.

Kyoot, one Easter we went to my Mom's and of course I took Easter bunny stuff. And my Mom also got Easter bunny stuff. And my sister, who was also visiting, ALSO got Easter bunny stuff. Everyone got plenty, in case no one else did ... we had piles of stuff!! Plus Easter was my mom's 70th birthday, so we had to have cake -- I made a bunny cake and put 35 candles on each ear. Mom has a photo of it she calls "call 911". Fair warning! You might want to coordinate with your mom on what to get for the boys.

Kyoot ~ Luckily I work at a CATHOLIC college and have Good Friday off. My MIL works at another Catholic university and she ALSO gets Holy Thursday off. No fair!! Like I said, I'm a little Polish (my grandfather on my mother's side, his mother came from Poland) but I grew up in a very, VERY Polish neighborhood. So I can swear in Polish and everything ;)

You have 2 kids and you want 1-2 more!?!?! WOW. You ARE a supermom! I'm just pluggin away at TRYING to conceive just one, and my bargain with God is just the one, that's all I ask for!! (I'm an only child and I like it -- I only want one).

Yes, the snow fairy was really worn out her welcome! At least most of the snow is melting in the sunny spots.

Nancy ~ I was hoping CNY wasn't going to get the snow. Ours ended in the late afternoon Sunday, so it must have ended for you later, leading to delays for you this morning. We were delay-free.

Well, I'm a rumbly-in-my-tumbly, so I've got to get me some lunch!

GOOD Morning, GBTG-Friends!

Well, I'm in LONG pants today... ;) It's cool and overcast.

I've already made Pineapple/Craisin/Hazelnut Oat Bran muffins. Charski's recipe says "2 pts.", but with a few additions, I'm calling them "3 pts.". These guys are gut-bombs! I get so FULL from just ONE! And the feeling lasts for HOURS. graemlins/thumbup.gif

Kyoot~ Opaque. smile.gif

Nancy~ I'm just getting the big "M" figured out, since I'm almost through it. It's like childbirth. No one wants to tell you the truth. But I'm thinking, start-to-finish, dealing with irritability graemlins/crazy.gif etc., 5-7 years. (And I'm still taking HRT to level-out; it's been 2 years now~)

Raidermom~ I can SEE all the levels in my picture! WHEW! I was going to tell you: Don't take anything with " p-something" in it, but Calgal got it right! I can't take that. I have Panic Disorder, and get a racing heart from that, anything with caffeine, and there is a "new novacaine" that works fast...it also will race your heart. I have to ask for the s-l-o-w novacaine.

Well, Buddies. I said I was going to a meeting, but I missed it. My intent is to have a GREAT OP week, and PLAN-AHEAD so I do not miss it next time! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

It's good to see EVERY BUDDY! I'm going to exercise now. I sent DH to work, wearing a pedometer! It's 9 AM and he's at 2,000 steps. I bet he makes 10,000 by this evening! graemlins/thumbup.gif

Today is Cleaning Fairy Day, and it's EASY to clean a clean house! I'll make Vegetarian Chili for dinner (got great Braeburn apples, a BIG bag of spinach leaves, tomatoes on the vine, and VATS of cottage cheese from Costco yesterday). I'm READY for a GOOD WEEK!

Hi all,
Just checking back in. We are going to be home for Easter much to both sets of parents dismay. Gas prices are getting so high that it just does not pay to go for only two days.

Kyoot I have three boys (12,4,and
10-months). We would like to have one-two more children, but will just have to see what the good Lord wants ;) I am plenty busy now with our three.

Jenn I am 1/4 Polish and 3/4 Norwegian--What a combo. One of my grandfathers was 100%Polish my other three grandparents were all 100% Norwegian. I received the shorter Polish frame with the lovely thicker thighs  My 2-DB are both 6'1" and 6'2" respectively. Long thin legs graemlins/sobbing.gif .

Raidermom Have you been to your doctor yet? You may want to steer clear of Advil as well. Maybe you have taken it before and not had a problem, but that tends to do the same thing.
Hope that you are doing better tongue.gif

Gotta go, the little darlings want lunch.
Have a great afternoon,

Wendyj

Hi again, Carol, that's a relief, I've been told 10 years! I think I'm in the 3rd year - I'd have to go back and check for sure. They tried to even it out with the Pill and it didn't work (drove my normally low BP through the roof). My dr. doesn't put people on HRT now just for "discomfort," they prefer to have people just go through it and deal with the symptoms (I have some really good painkillers for my cramps).

My family is mostly German on both sides, and I have the short stocky build from my mom. No matter how thin I get, I have big thighs and hips. My pants size is one larger than my dress size and I can't wear off the rack skirts and dresses with fitted skirts. Yes even 20 below my current goal weight (I've been there, I know).

Hi all, happy Monday. How about this, I went in to work this AM to ward off munchies. Whatever it takes even going to work on off day lol. I just had chocolate munchies and thought I better get out of here. I did walk hour+ so thats all good, burned off 500+ calories.
Jen, I remember going with mom to bless the breads, the stations of the cross, Easter dresses, easter egg hunts. They are all good things.
Nothing special planned for us on this holiday. Everyone elses sounds great.

Maybe I remembered wrong, Nancy?! Maybe it was 7-10 years?! ;) I'm at 6 1/2 and still not out-of-the-woods.

For me, HRT is a quality of life issue.

I don't want to feel like biting everybody's heads off every day...! ;) tongue.gif

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
Cake:
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips -- divided
1/2 cup butter -- softened
3/4 cup sugar -- divided
1 teaspoon vanilla
7 large eggs -- separated
2/3 cup cake flour
3 tablespoons cornstarch

Sour Cream Layer:
2/3 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Frosting:
2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips* -- reserved from 6 oz package
3 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup sour cream
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar – sifted

Garnish:
8 ounces fresh strawberries -- halved

Cake: Preheat broiler. Melt 1/3 cup morsels over hot (not boiling) water; cool. Beat together butter, 1/2 cup of the sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Comflour and cornstarch; stir into butter mixture. Stir melted morsels into half the batter; set aside. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup sugar; beat until stiff peaks form. Fold half the beaten whites into EACH portion of batter (batter may appear curdled). Spread scant 1/2 cup chocolate batter in bottom of 9-inch springform pan. (Batter is very thin.) Place pan under broiler so that batter is 5 inches from heat. Broil 1-2 minutes or until baked. Spread scant 1/2 cup plain batter over chocolate layer. Broil 1-2 minutes. Repeat, alternating chocolate and plain layers, making 10 layers in all. Spread top layer with the Sour Cream Layer. Broil 1 minute. Cool 15 minutes. Remove sides from pan; cool completely. Frost sides of cake with 2/3 of the frosting. Arrange strawberries around the edge of cake and in center. Pipe remaining frosting between strawberries.

SOUR CREAM LAYER: Combine sour cream, sugar and lemon juice.

CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM FROSTING: Combine over hot (not boiling) water, the 2/3 cup morsels and butter; stir until smooth. Transfer to small bowl; cool 10 minutes. Stir in sour cream and vanilla. Gradually add confectioner's sugar, beating until frosting is smooth and of spreading consistency.

Hey buddies! graemlins/wave.gif

We had a field trip out in Ann Arbor today. It's called a "hands on museum". The kids get to touch everything! LOL Then it was out to lunch and to the mall to get Sarah some spring clothes. I am now sitting here listening to my 17 year old (with no job) complain about all the clothes I buy Sarah and what I DON'T buy for her. Hmmmmm, I spend the same on each? LOL GET A JOB!!!!!!! :D

I called the doctor today and she of course said absolutely NO sudafed. I didn't even think to ask about Advil...wassup with Advil?
My appointment to go over all tests is not until April 19th. It can't come soon enough...I'll be anxious until then.

WendyJ - **********{skinny vibes!}}}}}}}}} Good luck on your WI tonight!

Kyoot - Snow...CA CA! We were supposed to get an inch on Saturday night and it bypassed us. Whew! I am sick to death of all that white stuff....bring on spring!

Nancy - And YOU are a glutton for punishment actually traveling to MORE SNOW!!

Carol - My intent is the same as yours, I'm gonna have a GREAT OP week. You have been a cleaning machine lately......how'd ya like to come help a girl out? :D The doc says I shouldn't be exercising ya know........... ;) tongue.gif

Have a great day everyone! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good morning everyone!

Beautiful sunny day here (I'm ignoring the fact that it is 27 degrees!). I'll be leaving work early today too, to do the easter shopping, so that's a bonus too. I also have to fit in getting bloodwork done, for my infertility testing. day 21 and more thyroid testing (this is my 2nd thyroid blood test, they are now checking to make sure I don't have an underactive thyroid). DH has one, so if I do prove to have it, it will suck because it delays us some, but I know it's no big deal to control it -- I've been watching DH control his for nearly 10 years with synthroid.

I'm just plugging along. No mjor food catastropies, but I can't seem to make myself eat in the losing range. But I've been eating in maintenance and not gaining, and have been eating TONS of veggies, so that's good. I'm trying to get all my water in early today and try to get a little bit of exercise this week. And I'm still keeping my 169.9 goal in mind too -- I can do it!

Carol ~ Sorry that your beautiful weather turned. But it could be worse, I could have conceivably worn BOOTS yesterday with the snow! But we have to get one last snow in April before we can move on with SPRING!

Wendy ~ Can the parents come to you for easter? Even though we don't have kids yet, I make our families come to US on Christmas. Unfortunately my mom works on easter so we do our thing on Saturday, but it does make it easier in that I just go to the inlaws without a squabble. Hope the parents get over it!! Oh, I'm 1/4 Polish, 1/4 Irish/Welsh and 1/2 German. I look like a poster child for Germany too (tall, solid build, super fair, ble eyes -- the blonde part is "fake" tongue.gif ). But I did get the Polish thick thighs. And somehow with this descent, I DO NOT DRINK. Don't like the taste of alcohol. Must be a genetic malfunction!!!

nancy ~ Yep. Big German thighs and hips here too. Being thinner helps, but not completely. Sorry you got the shorter German build. I'm tall, but I think still stocky!!!

Cheryl ~ You went to work NOT to eat!!! graemlins/thumbup.gif That would never work for me, as there is always a TON more food that I could do damage on at work then is EVER in my house!! And a big graemlins/bcbsalute.gif on all those calories burned!!!

Raidermom ~ MMMM that recipe looks divine!! Good thing I am a lazy cook though and will probably never make it, because I LOVE chocolate and could probably polish this baby off by myself!! The museum sounded fabulous! Once you 17yo DD gets a job, she'll appreciate what she does get from you a heck of a lot more, understanding how long she'd have to work for that perfect $40 tShirt from Abercombie!! And, no more sudafed from you!! (And hope the 19th comes fast for you!)

WOW, I'm sure that's a novel and I probably missed people!!! Well, a big graemlins/wave.gif to anyone I missed!! Have a great OP day everyone!!

Good afternoon buddies,

I have just a few minutes to drop by before I have to get back to work.

The sun is out today, but it's still cold. Most of the snow from yesterday is gone though.

I did my weekly WI this morning and I am down 1.5 from last week. Still 1 above my low point for the year (4 weeks ago) though, so no applause from me yet. I have no chance of making goal by Easter. Maybe by my birthday (Memorial Day). I was so close (can you tell I'm STILL frustrated - but it keeps me OP). I still have my head cold but I'm getting better.

Carol (or whoever it was), I returned the trackball yesterday. I had to rotate my wrist to use it, and the effect was the pain didn't go away. It did move - from my wrist to my upper arm. The good news is my IT guy had an old keyboard with a TrackPoint on it. I'm using that now with no pain. If it keeps working I'm going to buy a newer one (bigger buttons and a built in wrist rest). (TrackPoint is the button between b, g, and h on IBM laptops -- you push it and the mouse pointer moves. The buttons are under your thumbs. Your hands never have to leave the keyboard.)

I hope I can stop by later and do proper notes to everyone.

Have a great afternoon!

GOOD Evening, GBTG-ies!

Busy, busy day. Roasted cauliflower, brocolli, onions, cabbage. Cooked eggplant for "meatballs" made with eggplant?! I'll let you know how they turn out. Made "My Leader, Nancy's, Vegetable Soup"...It was delicious! And I've got vegetables left-over that should last for days! graemlins/thumbup.gif Made my soynut/peanut butter in the VM. STILL need to cut the asparagus and roast it!

The BAD thing about cooking-all-day? It doesn't use very many "steps"... tongue.gif I'm under 2,000 for the day.

Lotsa' laundry, and some errands. Tomorrow is shopping with DD, along with paying bills.

This really was no FUN today! tongue.gif

Well, I DID see the first bird drink from my new aggregate concrete 1 foot tall bird bath! It sits across a walk, in a planting area at eye-level while I'm at my sink. A robin got there first and guzzled! Then 6 little birds sat around the outside rim and took their little drinks...It was soooooo neat!! :D

I'm soooo tired. Didn't sleep well at all last night. The moon's getting full, I know. It seems like this week is going to ZOOM by? graemlins/wave.gif

OK, it happened again. I typed and stuck the little waving guy at the end of my post and that's all that was left...the little waving guy. So in a nutshell, I'm crabby today..hopefully I'll be more chatty tomorrow.

And Carol, birds LOVE water! DH and I love to watch the birds, in fact I think after a 3 year haitus we might head to Point Pelee in Canada...the place is a bird watcher's paradise.

Goodnight all! graemlins/wave.gif

Good morning sleepy heads graemlins/sleep.gif . In Ohio, we can do our state taxes over the phone so I got up early for that. My latest morning food (which I LOVE) is oatmeal with 1 tsp PB and a few squirts davinci's caramel flavor. I mix half water and half lite vanilla soymilk. Its so good. I also had half grapefruit.

Cheryl, don't your feet kill after on them all day? Mine do, and that is a lot of cleaning/roasting so graemlins/thumbup.gif to you. I had a califlower head but made soup out of it. I just really like that too, and its also 0 pts.

I walked for 40 on the t-mill watching Antoinne Fisher. I'll watch the rest later. I need to hit discount store bf it gets crowded. I'll walk again later outside.
Hey I hope everyone is just busy and not stumbling. Or if you are, keep it to the the flex point limit. I manage to be over 22 points each day but I use my AP and some FP. I think its what I use the points on. I try hard to keep the carb choices to the recommended by WW but I do love my carbs. I'm making a real effort to keep the breads at mealtimes and eat cheese, frozen grapes, crudites as snacks.
I really want to see another loss this Saturday. Thats my goal.

Talk later, take care buds

Good morning buddies,

The sun is out, we're back to spring jackets, what more could I want? OK, OK, a vacation. Tomorrow, or maybe Friday. I may work an extra day if it'll make a difference here.

I think I have turned the corner on this cold. I'm doing much better than yesterday. I may even take the stairs tomorrow (have to be able to breathe without coughing).

We went to the school open house last night and talked to all the teachers. Dd and her band buddies played their contest solos for the crowd.

Cheryl (raidermom), hang in there.

Carol, That's a lot of veggies!

Cheryl(39), I like oatmeal for breakfast too, but with different stuff on it. I also use more than my target points. That's what the Flex points are for!

Jenn, I hope you enjoyed your shopping. Good luck with the blood work.

Wendyj, have a safe and happy trip. It has taken me a while but I like to spend Easter at home now. I do the family tours at other times.

GOOD Morning, GBTG-ies!

I'm up early today. Woke up laughing last night. Dreamt my family was eating underpants for dinner...! Each of us had a nice little pair of balled-up white Jockeys on our plate. Guess what? The waistbands were chewy! tongue.gif ;) LOL!

DO NOT LOOK FOR SYMBOLS IN MY DREAM!! ;)

I have been a Major Grouch lately. Major. graemlins/bcbsalute.gif I try to turn it around, and then, voila, I'm Grouchy again?!

So. What do you EXPERIENCED Lifetime members TELL yourself when the going-gets-rough? Me?

Hi to all graemlins/wave.gif

It is only Wednesday and it seems like it has been a very long week already. graemlins/ugh.gif

I did not get to go to my WI on Monday night as my friend was not able to pick up her children until later than usual, thus it kinda set me on a little bit of a roller coaster ride. Yesterday while babysitting I ate two hotdogs and macaroni and cheese---I do not even like hotdogs and they were 3 points a piece. Then I just threw caution to the wind and snacked the rest of the day. I tracked almost everything, but YIKES!!! I am way over on points, however, I am back on track today and still very nauseous. My DH said that I should get on the scale after being sick yesterday he thinks I will have a loss (little does he know :( ) I hate to even think of knowing my number today. I have had a terrible headache since Sunday night---Could it be from a new medication??HMM! I am going to call the doc today and I see her tomorrow. I went to bed early last night and had my DH take care of getting all of the boys rounded up and ready for bed. Don't you think that is good once in awhile? I do.

Jenn~ I am pretty sure that our parents are going to stay put where they are at as they have their own church events to do etc... That is okay though we will see each other in May sometime. Yes i would say with your heritage that non-drinking could definitely be a genetic malfunction, but in a good way ;) We live in a very Polish community too. There are some Norwegians, too, it just depends which side of the highway you are :D

Raidermom~ Keeping you in my thoughts today. I know that your ultrasound will go well. It is great that we live in a day and age where technology is on our side. graemlins/thumbup.gif

Kyoot~ Where are you?? How many children do you have anyway?? Have you been outside much in the last couple of days? We have been spending a lot of time in the driveway riding bikes, throwing the frisbee in the yard, swingset, sandbox, etc...Love those sleepy little ones.

To everyone else have a great day, I am in need of some coffee!! Then I will come back with a better attitude. graemlins/crazy.gif

Hi everyone; its a semisunny day here in Ca. I had a food victory yesterday I wanted to share with you. One of the guys I work with had some french frys sitting at his. I walked by and the smell caught and I said aloud "those smell good"; then another co worker said "do they really?" and I paused and realized they really didnt. And I remembered the last time I had them and how nauseous I felt the rest of the day. It was almost an automatic response..mmmm. french frys...good. but things have changed. I have changed. So actually at second smell not so good. In fact kinda stinky and greasy and I just didnt even want one of them. After 2+ years my body just wont accept the greasy stuff and my mind is finally catching up. Have you all found this to be true in some fashion for you? For you oatmeal eaters have you tried the baked oatmeal? I love these and can take to work for breakfast (I start at 7) or for afternoon snack. Filling and good for you. Have a great day everyone.

Hey gals, didn't want you to think I feel off the face of the earth. Just have been busy, REALLY busy today. Tomorrow doesn't look promising either. I'm doing OK and I'm working hard to stay OP (againn, not always easy but I am not mindlessly eating, a good thing!) And the bloodtests went well, just waiting for results. I gotta go, poor DH had a bad day, I was going to return some pants at the mall (didn't like how they fit, too BIG in the waist, but a little too snug in the hips  ) but he wanted me to come home early. I'm a good wife, I'll oblige!

No time for personals (plus I don't want to touch Carol's dream with a ten-foot pole!!! tongue.gif ) so I'll end here. Have a great OP night everyone (and really, isn't it more difficult to stay OP at night???)

Hey everyone, graemlins/wave.gif

I have been on program all day and still nauseous. I hate to start on crackers I find it very hard to stop.

SandyLee~ What is the baked oatmeal that you mentioned? I have not heard of it.

WWCarol~ What a dream.LOL :D Hope you are having a great Wednesday and that your future dreams have other low point options ;) Some plans say to stay away from white things including Jockey unders ;)

Jenn~ Ah Yes, it is harder at night especially if you have few points left. It seems at those times that we are more hungry.(At least I am)
Glad that your blood tests went well. It should not be long now smile.gif

Sandylee, I had that happen with pizza. Pre-WW I would have 2 slices of sheet pizza at work (small slices, I count them 6 pt. unless they have more than one meat topping). I was pretty shocked the first time the 2nd slice tasted greasy. I figured my body was trying to tell me something, so I threw the rest away. One slice was enough!

The only time since then that the 2nd slice tasted good was the day of the office move -- I had just spent 4 hours hauling boxes up and down stairs. 6 AP, easy. But I still thought for a long time before I took a 2nd slice, because I didn't want it to be wasted if I didn't want it after all. I pretty much plan on one slice, with a side of veggies or something. 6 pt. or so is a good lunch for me.

I also noticed that I physically cannot eat as much as I used to.

It is strange and wondrous how our bodies adapt to our new way of life.

Hi Everyone graemlins/wave.gif

I hope that this finds everyone waking up to the smell of great coffee and sunny skies.
How is everyone doing? My headache is finally gone. Hoorah!! I must have just had a bug of some kind. I am still pretty tired yet today, but I feel like exercising today-have not felt this good since last Saturday. Thank goodness I will be able to get in my weekly workouts as I have four days left this week. :D I finally went into town and picked up Easter goodies for the little darlings last night. Didn't Easter come up fast this year?? It looks as if it is going to be a cold wet/snow weekend. Yuck!! When I was a little kid(as opposed to being a big kid now ;) ) I remember Easter being warm and sunny. I cannot remember the last time that Easter was warm here.

Raidermom ~ How did everything turn out? Hope that you are doing well. Had any caffeine yet?

Sandylee ~ Thank you for the Baked Oatmeal advice. I am planning on trying it today. I like trying new recipes.

WWCarol ~ Sweet Dreams or Chewy Dreams last night? Still LOL :D

Good morning everyone,

I'm on vacation!! I'm off work now until the 18th. I had thought I'd have to work today, but I managed to get everything on my list done yesterday. School is also out for a week. We have our spring break really late.

Today I'm lazing around, and then I'm going to work out and shower, and then go to the movies.

I think we're going to have wet and snow too. Sometimes it's warm and sunny, but not every year.

Have a great Thursday!

GOOD Morning, GBTG-friends!

SWEET DREAMS! I had SWEET DREAMS last night! smile.gif

In the evening, DH said to me (rather suspiciously), "I only have one pair of underpants in my drawer..." Me: "And I'M doing laundry!" (We looked at each other and said no more; who knew what the other was thinking?) ;)

Yesterday was a v-e-r-y difficult day. Felt like graemlins/sobbing.gif in the grocery store! Finally called the day short. DD said, "Go watch Beaches!" Then she reminded me that when DS was about 4, he sang along with "Wind Beneath My Wings":

" I can fly high-er than a meat-ball!" :D

Watched Oprah and graemlins/sobbing.gif . At least those soccer-mom-drug-addicts had a reason for feeling miserable! tongue.gif DH gave me a backrub, and I had a GREAT night's sleep and feel FINE today. (So much for the wild hormone-ride~ )

What I'm Doing: Just started writing in my weight, exercise, and pedometer count on the calendar in my closet. That's helping me, really. I might even start a "sticker" system with smiley-faces for the days I exercise! The visuals are GREAT. (I THINK I just exercised, but actually I have SKIPPED 2 days!) graemlins/wave.gif

Hi all graemlins/wave.gif ,
I am still trying to get my workout in and it is 1:05pm already.

WWCarol ~ I have been using the sticker system on my calendar since August. It really helps me to stay on track and is a very good quick visual for if I have exercised or not. I use a pedometer too. It is pretty fun to see those steps racking up.

Glad those dreams were SWEET!

Have a great day all graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good evening GBTG Buds! :D

It was another long day but I'm done, the tests are complete! At least I hope they are... A positive sounding word from the doctor on duty who looked at the 2 echos that I had today....he said "don't worry, everything looks good". So I breathed a huge sigh of relief and hopefully when I return to my doctor on the 19th I'll get the go-ahead to start back exercising. The nurse was impressed at how I handled the "stress" portion of the test. The funny thing that I noticed was my resting heart rate.....it was between 55 and 60. Isn't that REALLY low? There I go.....starting to add another worry! ;)

After my test I ran to the grocery store and then I had to take DS in for his sport's physical. I am just now finishing with supper and the kitchen cleanup at 7:45 PM, which is LATE for us!

Sandylee - I LOVE the baked oatmeal! Sounds like a plan for this weekend. I like to add some diced peaches or pears to it....

Wendyj - No...I didn't wake up to the great smell of coffee. :( And today after my test I decided it was too late in the day for coffee ( I only drink it in the morning), so I got a diet cola. I should've got the coffee because I now have that caffeine headache. I also have all the Easter goodies bought and ready for Sunday. I remembered how much candy my MIL brings the kids and put most of the junk back. Sarah and I will be coloring our eggs on Saturday.... I'm gonna be so bummed when she's grown, and THIS time there's no begging for another one! LOL

Nancy - wet and snow, YUCK! But you're right, it's the same here in MI, it can be snowy and cold or sunny and warm. In fact, some of the biggest snow storms have been in April. Enjoy your vacation...I'm sure it will go by rather quickly for you.

Kyoot - 3.4 pounds!!!! THAT IS AWESOME! graemlins/thumbup.gif Happy OP Easter to you too, and this latest accomplishment should help to keep you on track Sunday.

Carol - Awwwww, DH gave you a backrub. See....even if you've marinated and broiled his shorts, he still wants to make you feel good. Well, either that or he was thinking about getting even and having clam chowder in a "D" cup! :D tongue.gif

Jenn- Have a great Easter!

Hi! graemlins/wave.gif to everyone else!

Good Morning Ladies graemlins/wave.gif ,

I am sitting here sipping my flavored de-caf coffee(in empathy for you Cheryl), and it isn't half bad. I just thought that I would pop in to wish everyone a Happy Easter before the day and weekend gets too hectic. graemlins/crazy.gif

I have to get a workout in today. I never did end up getting to the basement to WATP yesterday. Our little neighbor girl came over to play and that was all she wrote. If I buckle down today though I can still get 3-workouts in before Monday :D and hopefully have a good WI on Monday night. I am going to my meeting at all costs. Today's agenda is a trip to town, run to the bank, Shopko, Walmart or Target(if Shopko doesn't have what I need), pay bills graemlins/ugh.gif (Hate that)and clean the house. I am trying to plan a good low-point Sunday breakfast, as well as dinner, that also may be lower in carbs (I know, I know) for my DH who will not touch mashed potatoes.

I only have 8-1/2 weeks to lose 26 pounds. (My goal anyway) I am a little frustrated with myself as I had plenty of time when I re-joined WW at the end of October. The first 12 weeks were a breeze. The second twelve had a lot of rocky patches, and now that I am towards the end of the first week of the final 12 weeks and things are slowing down to a snails pace (partly of my own doing), but very frustrating no less. Today I am making another gallant effort to stay OP and exercise is the big key for me. If I do not get in at least 3-4 times/week, I just will not lose. Sorry for going on and on and on.....

WWCarol ~ I love the "I can fly higher than a Meat-ball" Can't you just hear Bette singing that~LOL :D Hope that you are having a terrific Friday

Kyoot ~ 3.4 pounds Holy Cow!!! That is TERRIFIC What a great week. You go girl!! :D

Hi to all of my buddies and thank you for inspiring me while making this journey back to goal. You are all FANTASTIC graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Have a great OP day,

Hello everyone!

I just got back from Costco...they were having a demo on cookware. All I wanted to know was the price..."after the demo is complete we'll discuss the price." Stupid me stuck around. He didn't like me too much....I questioned certain things during his demo and he grew annoyed with me. Hey....I know about cookware and I am not going to sit silent while he tries to sell cookware for $400 that is on par with cookware you can get for $150-200!! For the price I was definitely not impressed.......

WendyJ - Shopko........ahhhh memories! We don't have them around here but I grew up in the UP and vividly remember heading to the Marquette Shopko frequently. It's where I blew all of my babysitting money! ;)
And I got to have my coffee this morning!! Ahhhh, love that morning coffee...... I even had a latte freeze at Costco..Mmmmmm.

I realize that everyone is going to be a little busy this weekend so I will say HAPPY EASTER to all! graemlins/wave.gif

Good afternoon buddies,

I decided I couldn't post today until after I worked out. Yes I've had a cold, and so I've taken some time off, but I feel enough better that it's time to get back to work. So, I have worked out. And done a couple loads of laundry (working ahead, so we can start packing), and the taxes are ready to be filed. Hooray!

Dh also took me out to get my Easter plant. I got a nice pink Asiatic lily.

Yesterday I finally took myself to see the Passion of the Christ. What an intense movie. One of the best I've ever seen. (Dh doesn't think he could handle it, and it's definitely not for my dd even though several of her classmates have seen it.)

Kyoot, what a great loss! Persistence pays off!

Cheryl(raidermom), I can bet the demo guy didn't like you much. They make their money off people who don't ask so many questions.

Wendy, focus on where you've come, not where you didn't go. The rest will come off eventually. Don't worry about your "deadline", this is for life! Stay OP and go for whatever you can get. There's not a lot of point (and no APs) in beating yourself up about what you didn't do yesterday.

Carol, that backrub sounds good to me too. Keeping a log somewhere where you will see it is good too. Even with stickers!

Jenn, Cheryl, whoever else I missed, have a great Friday!

Good evening all, just want to say hi . I don't think I'll be around much till after Easter but you never know.
I don't drink coffee anymore. Tea for me. Well if I could make a decent cup I would. First few days were pretty intense but 'sall good now.

Nancy, you are brave to watch the Passion. I wish is wasn't so horrific; I didn't watch
Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan either. I just can't. I hope you have a really nice vacation.

Kyoot, you go girl that is so  . You must be proud of your efforts.

Cheryl, you did a good thing speaking up and I bet it gave some less informed people something to think about. Thats alot of $$ to just dole out.

Wendy, I wish I know what to say except to hang in there and put out alittle more effort like in the beginning. Words for me to live by too.

well, better sign off and moisturize my face. I had another coposcopy yesterday so I'm crampy and blah. DH had flowers at work for me and when I came home for lunch, what a doll.

take care

Come out, come out wherever you are! ;)

Where is everyone hiding on this beautiful spring day? And don't use the ol' "I'm busy cleaning and cooking for my Easter dinner tomorrow"...excuses, excuses! tongue.gif

I am cooking dinner for tomorrow and I told DH it is going to be completely OP. I will make his potato salad and have ONE serving.....but the rest of my plate will be a little ham, baked beans, corn on the cob, and SF jello. I've already made the baked beans, jello and the potato salad today...so tomorrow will be EASY SNEEZY! As far as Easter candy.....I am going to allow myself 3 points worth a day until it's gone...that's IF it tempts me in any way, which it may not. But when I start to deny, I get rebellious and I don't want that!

I have been having much trouble remaining OP since I've been told I can't exercise. Why? Feeling sorry for myself I suppose. No excuse. I took off my "comfortable" pair of jeans today and put on those "tight" ones. That way I am aware all day instead of living in denial.

My journal is out and I'm using it. This has been another area in my denial and I need to start back fresh like the first day I walked thru the doors of WW. One day at a time, recording every BLT.

Here's wishing that ALL OF US have a wonderful and OP Easter!

Best wishes.... graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

nancyny
04-10-2004, 11:11 AM
Where do you think we're hiding? OUTSIDE!! graemlins/crazy.gif It's dry, and in the 50s, and sometimes the sun is out. It's windy too but we can cope. Tomorrows forecast is rain mixed with snow -- I hope it holds off until after our Easter services and the egg hunt.

We all went to the park for a while after lunch. I rode my bike, dd rode her bike and played on the playground, dh took his walk.

It's still too mushy to do much with the yard, but we did put up a deer fence and I've been pumping the water on the pool cover into the pool under the cover.

And, I canned my maple syrup (6 qt.) so that's done. (Last year I put this chore off until October! )

And the taxes are filed.

So tomorrow all we have to do is pack for our trip!

Easter dinner will be ham, sweet potatoes (mashed for dd), and veggies. Simple and OP. Yes there will be candy, but not much.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday, and Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

Hi ladies, graemlins/wave.gif

It is a little cold around these parts, but the sun is peeking through those clouds so we are all  around here.

To all of you BCB's ~ Sorry about my little Pity Party yesterday. :( I just was not myself.

I have our ham in the oven and am making the other Pistachio dessert, SF jello/fruit. I am also going to make Fauxtatoes ~ a cauliflower recipe that tastes like mashed potatoes. It is really great. The mashed potatoes I can do in the morning then everything will be ready to heat up or maybe I will have it in the buffet roaster while we are at church so that we can all sit down in a timely manner when we get home.

Raidermom ~ I am so-o-o glad that you got to have your morning coffee, and a LATTE at Costko.MMM!MMM!! I have heard a lot of good things about Costko--we do not have any around here. I am glad that you spoke up and tested the demo-guy graemlins/thumbup.gif

Nancy ~ I am doing just what you said. I am going to focus on how far I have come. There is no way that I am going "To Goal and Beyond" Yes my little guy really likes Toy Story.

Cheryl39 ~ Yes I am going to follow your advice to and get back to the drive that got me headed back in the right direction in the first place.

To everyone else that I missed in the personals,
Have a great holiday.

Hi there, Buddies!

I love to hear the FIRE in your post, Raidermom! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif Dr. Phil totally believes in wearing your tight pants...no "loosening", no "elastic", and no "bigger sizes"! tongue.gif

Today we had Easter Egg Hunt weather: sunny, blue sky and 80 degree weather?! More of the same tomorrow! :D

I'm not getting excited about an Easter dinner, 'cause we're having a b'day dinner on Monday for DS, 21. His favorites: prime rib and mashed potato casserole. I now include MY favorites at all these "special" meals: bulgar and roasted veggies! graemlins/thumbup.gif Then I can't go wrong~
