Good morning, buddies, I am SOOOOO happy it's Friday. I am taking today off to catch up on some things. Even though I have a lot to do (pug washing day also), it will be great to just not have to go into the office.

Sue: Your parents sound amazing, as do you & your husband. Do you play Bridge everyday? or are you just speaking about when you are at your parents? I'm glad you will be able to post while you are away. I always look forward to reading your daily posts.

Sheryl: I hope the Dr.'s tests turn out OK. Please let us know. Re: the exercise ~it is really helping me right now with the stress.

Amy: I will be praying for your Niece. Please keep us posted. I will pray for your dear sister also.

Tracey: Is there ever a day when you are not out straight in work? I know I never seem to have a day like that. Thank you for your prayers for DS. Please keep them coming.

Kathy: Your trip sounds fabulous. How long will you be gone?

Steve: Does anyone know when he will be back from FLA?

DS called several nights ago. He said he paid for the room for next year, but only to please us. He still doesn't know if he will be going back. I asked him to come home for the weekend, but he says he is too busy. He will be home for Easter weekend, and I might be able to get a better handle on what is going on then. Until then, DH & I are doing a lot of praying.

I made a fab. dinner last evening, using my new Cuisinart. The convection feature took frozen chicken from the freezer to the table in one hour, cooking @ 325. It was moist, perfectly cooked and simply unbelivable! This appliance & my Vita-Mix 5000 are my favs, & I didn't think anything could ever come close in personal value to my beloved Vita-Mix.

Hugs & hello's to all,
Dawna

Good Morning Buddies,

It's a dreary day today, but I have aerobics inside and grocery shopping to do for the weekend and for our responsibility to be host and hostess for tonight's Oneg Shabbat (refreshments after Friday night services). Our synagague has recently hired a new spiritual leader (not a Rabbi) and I've heard mixed reviews. Our community has had the most awful luck hiring Rabbis. I won't go into detail, but two rabbis' ago, we hired someone who was a fraud..he wasn't ordained. The sad part is that he was very knowlegable and the congregants like his adult education, services, etc. If he had said that he wasn't a rabbi we might have hired him anyway. Our luck with rabbis is a very long story and a play could be written about the past 6 or 7. (the play would be like a Greek Tragedy).

Our fair city is in the news today as our local museum is in the hot seat for getting rid of a Houdini exhiit and planning to show how his famous metamorphis trick is done. Talking about rabbis, Houdini' father was the first Rabbi in Appleton. If you get the Wall Street JOurnal, you can see the article in the center column on the first page. I have worked with the director of the museum when she was president of the League of Women Voters and she wasn't terribly organized or effective. The rumors are that she (Terry Bergen) isn't doing a great job as director of the museum. I hope I can see the segment on the today show before I leave for aerobics.

Also, the prez (Bush) is flying into our local aiport Tues, when I leave for FL. I hope my flight leaves on time.

Dawna - DH and I used to play bridge almost every week with a couple in town, but the past couple of years, we haven't played much. We do play with my folks every day, although I play with my DM and DH plays with DD as my DM criticizes her DH too much. Hope you enjoy your day off. Our DS took the LSAT to please his dad, and he was glad that he did. At least DS is keeping his options open. I'll say a special prayer at services tonight. Your dinner sounded wonderful.

Sheryl - Hope your numbers were good. I bet they were. DH has been avoiding cholestorel medicine and his numbers have dropped quite a bit.

Kathy - I'd love to just get in the car without reservations. We tend to be over programmed when we travel.

Amy - Hope your neice is doing well. I say a special prayed for her too.

Tracey - I spent lots of time in the car on Wednesday practicing my breathing. I'm able to do more ball rolls when I breath correctly. I think this will be a great addition to my normal exercise.

Yes, Steve, where are you?

Have a great day buddies,

Hugs,
Sue

Happy Friday buddies! DS and I are happy today because we got a good night's sleep and also because DH is coming home today at about 4:00 from the west coast. :D Uh-oh, I can smell DS's diaper so it looks like this will have to be a short one...

Thank you for all your prayers for my niece. My sister was able to take her home and she's feeling much better -- no more seizures. She had a blood culture taken to make sure she has no infection in her blood and we haven't heard the results on that, but the dr is pretty confident that she doesn't have one. What a scare.

Dawna, enjoy your day off! I hope you and DH are able to get some peace of mind once you talk to DS. I'm sure this has been very stressful for you.

Sue, I heard about the Houdini controversy. I'm not sure I understand all the hoopla...I guess magicians don't want their secrets exposed, right?

I better go change this diaper graemlins/ugh.gif It's a fairly pungent one. That ought to bring back some memories for you veteran mommies. ;)

Good morning goal friends! graemlins/wave.gif

We had some pretty good downpours over night, but this morning is absolutely beautiful--you know that smell of spring? Well, that's what it smells like out there this morning--warm, sunny with the rain on the grass--everything looking like it's ready to start to bloom--love it!!! :D

We're suppose to have a beautiful weekend with highs in the 70's so I think I'll take my DM shopping (probably Grove City, Amy!) and then out to dinner tomorrow. I'm still debating on whether to get my car out of storage next weekend or not--we still have quite a bit of salt and cinders on our roads, not to mention the potholes-- We've got lots of them. Maybe I'll wait just another week.....DF wants me to wait until May 1st! Don't know if I can wait that long.....

Dawna, I agree with Amy, maybe after you see your DS in person and talk to him it'll give you some peace of mind. Sounds like he tries to please you guys (another "only child" trait! LOL) by paying for the room for next year. Hang in there and enjoy your day off today!

Sue, those pilates moves are quite challenging, aren't they?! I love "rolling like a ball" so much so that I'll just do it after a really intense workout of kickboxing or interval work to massage my spine--works wonderfully. It doesn't take long to start seeing improvement in your core strength with pilates--you'll start noticing it after about 10 workouts. Let me know how it goes!

Amy, sounds like your niece is recovering, thank goodness. I'll continue to pray for her, your sister and your family, but I'm sure everything will work out fine now. Enjoy having your DH home this weekend--it sounds like it's going to be a nice one in the 'burg!!

Hey Steve, if you sent us this nice weather from Florida--THANK YOU!!!

Kathy, if I don't get a chance to email you before you guys leave, I want you to know that I'll be praying for your safe travel--enjoy yourselves, get some rest and stay safe buddy! graemlins/kiss.gif

Hello's, hugs and prayers to everyone I didn't personally mention--you know who you are--I didn't forget you!! Have a great weekend everyone! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good morning friends graemlins/wave.gif

Had the bloodwork yesterday am and received the results that very afternoon! Everything is within the norms and last weeks pap was normal as well smile.gif . I couldn't believe how quickly the results came back, although I must say the drawing of blood was much like an assembly line, in and out in two minues - I took a bit longer because the gal couldn't get blood from my left arm so had to poke the right as well  .
She said she draws blood all day, every day.

Dawna, I too am glad it's Friday(usually am smile.gif )
Perhaps it's good ds is leaving his options open for the fall semester, much can change between now and then. I agree, exercise is a great stress reliever.

Sue, I hope your new Spriitual Leader is a good fit for your synagogue(congregation?). I read a bit about the Houdini scheme in the Milwaukee paper this AM, sounds like a gimmic to me?

Amy, So glad your niece is doing much better. Oh, do I remember the dirty diaper days, and I can't say I miss them a bit! Although I do miss having little ones around now and then.

Tracey, I'm a bit jealous of your beautiful weather. Pretty gloomy here in Wisconsin today. Cold front coming in this afternoon.

Hope one and all have a relaxing op weekend. Last bowling tournament of the year(I hope) this weekend. We are heading to Racine early Saturday. We bowl 6 games Sat and 3 games Sun. Stay in a nice hotel, and have a good time with our friends - which is probably the main reason we go to these things :D

Fond Regards, Sheryl

Hi Buddies, graemlins/wave.gif

I'm here late today because I slept in then went to get my nails done. DH and I are going to spend the day getting the house ready for our trip. I guess we ladies know what that means. DH doesn't want me to work today because it's my BD but I want to get it done. I'm not going to take time for personals today because I'm here so late. I'll be back here for sure Monday morning before we leave that afternoon. We will be gone most of the week if not all of it. Loren has to be back at work Monday the 5th so we will be home by then.

Have a wonderful weekend buddies. :D
