View Full Version : GETTING BACK TO GOAL: Week of March 8

Hello
Here it is a new week. I am determined to get remotivated!!!
I am a bit frustrated. When I stepped on that little box I expected it to be down, but regretfully it looks like I haven't really gone down at all. I know I need to look at other factors like I did keep up with my journalling, I got my water in each day, and twice when all I wanted to do was rest, I went and exercised. I know part of it is that my weigh-in is on Monday and notoriously weekends are my higher days -- especially when we go up to my parents place on the St. John's River. Even though my Mom is now having to fix low fat/cholesterol stuff, I still go overboard (and not off the boat either ;) )
Well, today starts a new week! I am getting back to goal and getting refocused. My DF has to work evening so I will try to cook healthy meals and not just pick at everything!! graemlins/thumbup.gif
Although I don't post often, I check this thread every day. Everyone's postings help.
Thanks
Linda

Can't believe it's snowing this morning. Will Spring never come!!
Carol: I'm with Kyoot on graduations....we all know that getting to goal and staying there are two different animals.
If I can maintain this for 6 weeks then maybe I'm ready.
Linda, good for you on the exercising. This is my biggest downfall. I'm into my 4th week of exercsing every other day and it's a battle to push myself.

Good morning all. Sorry I can't talk long (again). I'm off to work. Yesterday, DH started taxes so computer was off limits. Earlier, we went to Chardon where they were tapping maple trees.
Nancy, we bought 4 taps and are trying it. I just know you have the evaporator and all the other stuff. It sounds like you make alot of Maple syrup.
Did you know, 20 minutes on the bike = 2points?
20 minutes walking =1. I have to walk 30 for 2.
I gonna try biking more ;)

Good morning all,
Well after all the chaos and stress of the last week and weekend, I stepped on the scale with no idea what to expect. To my surprise I am down 2 pounds!! I'll take it! Now to keep the complacency-vibes away. I still have 4 more to goal and 10 more to PG. This week I intend to start working the activity back in (as if working with 7 4th and 5th graders wasn't activity. I think elementary teachers should get APs for doing their jobs!!).
Linda, chin up. You are doing the right things. If you have a high points day the day before WI, this can happen. Just keep OP for the week, and your results will show up.
Cheryl, we have 5 taps in 4 trees and my "evaporator" is my kitchen stove and a collection of pots from 20 qt. down to about 3 qt. I make 1-2 gallons most years, a quart or so at a time. This year is starting to look iffy.
Tonight I am going back to the community band, which I've missed due to Odyssey.
Kyoot, Carol, Raidermom, thanks for the chuckles last night when we drove the thread to 5 pages!
Anyone I missed, graemlins/wave.gif

Happy Monday morning everyone! We had beautiful weather this weekend. I can feel spring coming in the air. I was able to spend lots of time outside. With the daylight staying longer I have been able to walk again after work so my exercise is alot more consistant. Also water is going down more easily this last week. I went back to my old journals last week to see what I used to do differently. I noticed I ate alot more cereal then and hardly none lately. Also more turkey and chicken. So I am bringing those back into my diet. I feel thinner already! So we will see come Thursday if I can break this darn plateau. Nancy congrats on your loss. Nice to see the scale move down isnt it? Have a great day everyone.

Good morning,
Just ran over to check out my 5pages/5lb reference. LOL thanks ladies!! I feel like I'm belonging here. I've also started posting in the 30's for my excerise, I've pledged 6days, so far well on day is off already! must go all week now!! no excuses. BTW who left the showmachine on? I woke up to more white "stuff"!! I'm still going with that wagon today and my walking partner is back from her vacation she left me a voice mail to go for 730pm tonight, so maybe between walkign with the boys and the wlak tonight I'll make up for yesterday. smile.gif I put mr 4 in charge of filling my water glass today so far we have worked on 4 12oz glasses. mr2 just came in spitting out glue stick! ewwwwww the diet of toddlers!!
Nancy!!! that is so awsome about your 2lbs loss, that must feel great!! must have been that dancing with your Odyssey group.
SewCrazy, if you go overboard remember you can try to swim back to the boat. :D
And Kicking for graemlins/bcbkick.gif can be great activity, ever tried to reach your own butt!!
Cheryl Woooohoo on the 2 points for 20minutes you must have really been going! my walking is recorded to moderate when taking into account getting 2.7miles in 33minutes and pulling that 80lbs of children. LOL of course if I jump in the wagon for the down hills I'll have to dock myself a bit!Don't cheat yourself on your walking, of course if your running race on that bike GOOOOOO Cheryl!!!
Grainne, this maintenance will get easier right?
OK sorry break in the posting for some mr2 lifting and wrestling.
Sandylee, could you send the person with the off switch for the snow more north east please? Thank you

GOOD Morning, GBTG-Friends!
Thanks for starting the thread, SewCrazy!
Yes. It was fun being "silly", wasn't it! ;)
Well, I'm moving around s-l-o-w-ly this morning; testing my limits. I'll have to see how much I can easily move my neck. tongue.gif
My home scale is up. I ate what they brought me, and I wasn't moving for several days. I am ab-so-lutely not worried. I just want to be able to MOVE normally again! graemlins/crazy.gif
Grainne~ I think that's a great idea! graemlins/thumbup.gif Just like getting "Lifetime" at WWs. smile.gif Well, good luck. I'm PROUD of you.
Yesterday DH grilled: a turkey breast, lotsa' chicken breasts, and chicken habanero sausages. So we're doing great on "protein". I'm putting most of it in the freezer, to pull as needed.
Today's my morning meeting. I guess I'd better start moving around and make my decisions about how I'm doing today~ graemlins/wave.gif MAKE IT GREAT, Buddies!

Good afternoon GBTG Buddies:
Sew Crazy, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you before, but sorry to hear about your frustration. I hope that I see you more often and that you'll post so the group can help and get to know you. Well, at least me, others may already know you smile.gif .
Sandylee, great for you feeling thinner already. The weather was beautiful in Atlanta over the weekend as well. It's still beautiful today, a tad windy, but gorgeous nonetheless.
I had a 1.8 gain this weekend, but you know it's funny, since I know that I'm doing what's right and best for me health-wise, it hasn't gotten to me like usual. I didn't even fell like jumping up and leaving my meeting in the middle of it out of frustration and disappointment.
Besides, it's the same 1.8lbs that I've been gaining and losing for the last few weeks. I'll just look forward to when it's gone for good and working toward that happening in the meantime.
I hope that you're back to normal soon, WWCarol.
Hello, Grannie, cheryl39, nancy, kyoot & raidermom.
WWLoser, hope you're doing well.

Hello ladies~
Lots of work to do, not enough hours to do it! I'm having a hard time these past couple days, which usually happens when I get busy. My choices are better, like when my DH and our friends went out after the movie (saw Starsky & Hutch and laughed my tail off -- I think it's ahuge spoof but am not old enough to really remember the show!). Anyway, they ordered desserts, and I felt like an apple salad, so that is what I had! But alas, that has been my best achievement yet. But, the day is young and I have plenty of time to make today a good day!
Linda ~ I'm sorry the scale is not cooperating, but YOU CAN DO IT!! And you have done so great so far!!
Grainne ~ You are so right that maintenance is tougher. But we will overcome!
Cheryl ~ I actually do love biking, and I love it even more now that I see how many APs it earns! I've got to get DH to get my bike out of the basement for me (of course it's snowing right now here, so he might not have to get right on that!)
nancy ~ WOOHOO on losing 2lbs!! That's awesome!!
Sandylee ~ Wanna send some of that springtime weather here??? It was 70 on Friday, and today it is snowing!!
Kyoot ~ Yeah, I'm getting sick of this white "stuff" too. But graemlins/thumbup.gif on keeping with the exercise despite the weather!!
WWCarol ~ Looks like I missed a page, or two or three ;) last week! You gals sure have fun here! But seriously, I'm hoping your neck is better!
GotThatFire ~ Bummer about the gain, I'm sure it will finally get that it is NOT WANTED and go away soon!
Well, got to get back to my mountain of work!
Have a great day everyone!! jenn smile.gif

Okay this is getting real annoying...I just typed a bunch of stuff and when I clicked on an emoticon it all disappeared!!!! And it happened TWICE!
So I'm refraining from the emoticons but I have to now leave for the gym. I'll be back in a couple of hours to type that stuff all over again. (insert rolling eye emoticon HERE...LOL)
raidermom
03-08-2004, 12:18 PM
Ok, I'm back! graemlins/wave.gif
A bit scared to use the emoticons though! graemlins/ugh.gif
I'm in a little better mood now that I've exercised and I'm home for good. I woke up late this morning and had to volunteer at preschool with nothing on my stomach. I came home around 2 PM to smell DH cooking in the kitchen and thought "what a prince....making us something to eat!" Well, I proceeded to make Sarah and I a plate and he jumped on me "Hey! I made those to take to work!" (Chicken breasts...he's on afternoons) Ok fine! I went to make a sandwich....NO BREAD BUT THE WHITE STUFF!!! So I made some eggbeaters with mushrooms. Paybacks for DH will be without mercy......... ;)
Linda - It is definitely hard to break that reliance on the scale. I still peek every morning but trying to break that habit. I received two very nice compliments today and I haven't lost anything in two weeks! So this Friday I will weigh AND measure...enough's enough!
Grainne - I like your 6 weeks idea. You've done a great job, congrats!
Cheryl39 - 20 minutes on the bike hey? I am thinking about doing the recumbant bike as opposed to the treadmill in my cardio workout. When I walk, especially at a brisk pace, I have a tendancy to "pound" my feet. Then my legs hurt, specifically my shins. I've just started trying the bike out and I really like it, so 20 minutes for me it is!
Nancy - Two pounds! Woo Hoo! http://img14.photobucket.com/albums/v41/raidermombcb/dance.gif
Sandylee - Good for you for getting more walking in AND more water!
Kyoot - How many pages ya want this week? LOL
Carol - Don't worry about that silly scale while you are at home suffering! I'd be letting other people fix me my meals too! So, how are you today buddy? Did you end up going to your meeting? Feel better soon..... graemlins/kiss.gif
GTF - I like your healthy attitude regarding your gain. It's when we let our attitude defeat us that we spiral back into trouble.
Jenn - How's things in Buffalo? (DH wanted to know...LOL)
Now.....
I think it's ahuge spoof but am not old enough to really remember the show! tongue.gif tongue.gif
Have a great day everyone!
(btw- I had to keep copying and pasting as I wrote...still having trouble.)

UPDATE! Tonight was the official weigh-in -- Down 2.4. graemlins/crazy.gif I am happy with the results.
It was a good meeting on "Switching" with the theme 'Weeding your weight management garden'. This week my goal is more exercise. My fiance is working evenings or has class so I am making an effort to take advantage of having the house to myself!!! Tonight I plan to do the WW exercise tape!!
I used to be a weigh everyday person. I am now down to only a couple of times a week maximum. I do weigh in at home the day of weigh in just to get an ida where I stand.
Thanks for the support. :D

Hi all, Im so proud of me today!!! I'm ready to jump into the screen. I did those 70alternating bicep curls this morning 10lbs each arm (got ot lose the wings) so that help to set my day. I danced with mr 2 for a bit, and when mr2 got tired and napped today (he doens't usually) I went and got on my stepper 33minutes, called neighbour and went for a 95minute walk. Pluggged that number in the ww flex calculator and got 5points for the walk! I'm soooooo excited about that one!!! (see me jumping laughing and feeling back in my game)
Linda that is great news on your loss, I am a once a week at the meeting weigher, I don't weighin at home unless i'm in the guest bathroom cleaning it, and that is dh's job. smile.gif
Cheryl/Raid, lets shoot for lots of pages of I Can and WILL do it thsi week!!
Carol get better soon, don't even fizz about the scale until your feeling better, you've got the right attitude.
GTF you sound great too, awsome attitude a gain that small can be anything and you know what your doing and it will all catch up eventually.
Jen someone turned up the snow button tonight and the wind button, I really think I need to talk to someone in management about this "white stuff" Oh well sliding with the kids tomorrow will have to do for activity, the more fun i'm having the more I can ignore that it's wet, cold and white out! You do great on an apple salad.
OK I think I got everyone since my previous post,
I hope I didn't leave anyone out or mix anyone up, if I did just give me a graemlins/crazy.gif LOL

Evening, Buds~
I did feel better at times today. During those times I made "Pineapple Craisin Oat Bran Muffins" and "Bulgar Gazpacho". DH was thrilled with both! Oh, and I made "Cheesy Polenta"...mixed with the grilled turkey...he LOVED the "flavors and textures".
I was supposed to be Cleaning Fairy today, but I wasn't able to "transform" and get-my-wings ...! tongue.gif
Maybe tomorrow?!
DH took down the unused basketball hoop and hung two birdfeeders from a cross post: one thistle (for the songbirds) and one sunflower seeds (for the bigger birds). We also just put out a cute "nester", filled with woolen-stuff the birds can carry away for nests! :D I can't wait to see that! (And then you "refill" with dryer lint! graemlins/thumbup.gif )
Also, this is the cutest! We attached a Squirrel Bungie to a nearby oak branch. It's got two ears of dried corn hanging on a bungie cord with an attached bell. Our squirrels are so NUTS! We saw a video; should be a "Squirrels Gone Wild!" Jumping, hanging upside down while going up and down graemlins/crazy.gif ...Can't wait!
As we looked outside at all these "contraptions", DH said, "Now we KNOW we're old!" ;)
LOL!
But at least we're OLD TOGETHER! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Linda, I'm doing the WW DVD. I find the high intensity easier than the medium. Go figure.
The high intensity is 3pts and the medium is only 1pt for me.....so I feel like I'm getting a bargain. :D I'm still at the point of having to play little mind games to get into the exercise groove.

Last in yesterday and first one up! No wonder I'm tired. Just couldn't get to sleep last night. I've just started a murder mystery series that takes place in 14th century England.
Cold, dreary and snow showers. Come on Spring.
Kyoot: I haven't started adding points yet as I'm going to spend 2 weeks to see if I can try to reach my personal goal.
GotthatFire: That's the spirit! Don't let this little plateau get to you.
Cheryl: I've had that happen to me also. Last time I noticed that somehow when I scrolled down and then up my cursor went to the top of my message so that when I hit the emoticon - it deleted my message. :( Now when I think I'm going to write a long message I do it in Word first.
Carol: I've never made Bulger. What does it taste like?

03-09-2004, 12:24 AM
Oh Carol, I don't know if thats bc we're old or appreciate nature more. I fed squirrels by hand while on vacation which I thought was so cool.
Cheryl, I mainly walk and when it starts really getting nice, back I'll go but I think I'll mix my metabolism up and ride my stationary for the aerobic part. 20 for 2 ain't too shabby either.
Nancy and SewcrazyLinda you guys rock. :D graemlins/crazy.gif :D great job. Lets all keep it up graemlins/thumbup.gif
Jenn, remeember you gotta stop yourself when you reach for the bad stuff due to stress poor planning. The workplace should be safe now. To bed late....up early. http://img14.photobucket.com/albums/v41/raidermombcb/coffee.gif Pretty much like you Grainne! Except I stayed up to watch a 4 hour special on PBS that totally captivated me. Today I start making some appetizers with DH for my party Friday night. These are the "pain in the butt" kind that take a lot of time, so I'm thankful DH is helping me out. He's also going to do a thorough job cleaning my kitchen so all I have to do is wipe things down on Friday. I think the sweetheart is making up for denying me that chicken yesterday..... ;)
I'm hoping to get to the gym as well today. Maybe I'll go first thing this morning and get it out of the way. That dumb scale is NOT budging! http://img14.photobucket.com/albums/v41/raidermombcb/scale.gif

Hi ladies,
Today I am determined to make a great day...despite the fact that a rep is taking my office out to lunch. That will be my "high" point for the day (but I will still make good choices), and I've got chix breasts thawing in the fridge for when I get home, with a side of roasted onion and zucchini - YUM!
My "downfall" yesterday wasn't actually so bad when i figured out the points, nothing that won't "even out" the rest of the week. How bad can one be eating turkey sandwiches with no mayo on pumpernickel? It was just the portion size was too big (I had a lunch meeting and the sandwiches were brought in, but I was lucky because they usually order pizza!).
raidermom ~ Buffalo is good, a dusting of snow but not enough to do winter sports on! The University at Buffalo kicked butt last night in their tournament and Niagara University all most beat Manhattan on ESPN last night.
SewCrazy ~ WOOHOO on the loss!! That's AWESOME!!
Kyoot ~ Management needs to be informed that we've all had enough of the snow thank you very much! But at least you are putting it to good use!!
WWCarol ~ I am happy you are feeling better! My mother a few years back would feed the squirels because there was this one that was graemlins/crazy.gif and she named him "the crazy squirrel." How original! You are only as OLD as you act, and I think you are one of the youngest, most fun-loving people around!!
Grainne ~ How is that WW DVD? My leader gave me one last Saturday and I wondered if it was worth doing.
Cheryl ~ Thanks fot the support on my stress-eating. That is my biggest weakness. I have to make sure my "pantry" is stocked, I think I am down a couple of things here at work. Next to bring in are veggies to put in the work fridge, that is if someone doesn't swipe them (I hear a saga going on right now about someone's missing yogurt -- I am a door away from the kitchen) But I don't think anyone will want a bag of carrots!! (cake maybe...)
nancyny ~ your weather sounds like ours. But I think you have more sun than us!! Kinda cloudy here.
Have a great OP day everyone!! jenn smile.gif

GOOD Morning, GBTB-Friends!
DH put a handful of sunflower seeds under the Corn Bungie, and the squirrels are going NUTZ over them! ;) Haven't found the corn yet. Next plan of action? Put some dried corn on the ground!
I, too, have "named" some wildlife. ;) Not very "original": (deer) Momma, Big Girl, Baby, The Twins, Ballerina, Sleepy (a "guy"; ate his cereal with his eyes closed; always looked like he had just gotten up! ;) ). One of the squirrels? Cocaine! :D I did learn a lesson from DD when she was little; she found some feral kittens and named one "The One With The Infected Eye"...and then it got better. And we still had to call it...You guessed it! LOL~ (Lesson Learned: Don't base names on temporary conditions~ smile.gif )
Grainne~ Bulgar. Ah....Bulgar! Bulgar, bulghar, bulgur. It tastes like RICE, only it's smaller bits. It has the "bounce" of biting into Japanese rice or brown rice. If you're wanting to get to personal goal, let me tell you: BULGAR can take you there! graemlins/thumbup.gif :D (DS, 21, is hooked on making it for himself now. And he loved the spicy Bulgar Gazpacho I made yesterday.) It's delicious, versatile, and a GREAT points "bargain"~ You should TRY it!
Well, I'm late, Buddies. Have to get DDog into the groomers. Will check in again! Did I tell you I'm feeling better today? I AM! I'm moving my neck around, and feeling quite "agile"...Whew! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif Thanks for all the motivating posts today~

Good morning, yep I see it 7minutes to noon but you guys are an hour behind or more by the looks of things. smile.gif
Grainne I'm with you, I'm staying with 22 until I see that 5lbs under goal then i'll worry about adding 4 and then some if I get some. I wish I could not feel like I'm going to go up up up again.
Carol you sound like you have some entainment in the back yard. DH used to feed a squirrel when we lived in Ottawa and he called her "amy" well Amy was very well fed on peanuts until our Kitten( less than 1 at the time) decided she liked peanuts too, so she would get up on the sink in the bathroom by the front door, unlatch the medicine cabinet and eat the peanuts!
Thanks everyone for the "yay" on my excerise I can't believe how great I feel about doing 7 points yesterday, I used to count my stepper as high but now I don't wet the floor like I used to. It was funny when I started doing mountainer/stepper last year it was all I could do to get through 10minutes, now there is no puddles at 30m so that feels good. I also used to tell myself I couldn't get off that thing until one drop hit the floor, You know you've lost your mind to excerise when that happens. LOL

Ok, time is running out and I need to make some choices here. This party is Friday and there's too much to do! Today is normally a loss, as during preschool I run off to the gym and by the time I'm done it's time to go get Sarah and we head to our "playdate" at McDonald's until 3 pm, then head to pick up my other DD from school come home get dd ready for ballet, to which I don't get home until 6 PM. Now.......I didn't get to my appetizers as planned yesterday. I looked at my fridge and decided to pull everything out, every bin every shelf and scrub it all. By the time I was done I decided to go work out and do the appetizers when I got back............never happened, I was too pooped.
AAaaaah! So I'm thinking of skipping ballet. I can't cancel the playdate...DD counts down to the day and it would be a big disappointment to her. Maybe I'll be up until midnight tonight catching up.. I think I should still workout today as tomorrow and Friday I won't be.......
Jenn- how did your lunch out w/ the rep go yesterday? A turkey on pumpernickel doesn't sound too bad.... I love pumpernickel and couldn't resist!
Carol - I find myself naming spiders in the summertime. "Don't kill Boris!" LOL
So how does Ddog look, spiffy? I need to get to the groomer myself... :D

Good morning everyone; looks like another sunny coming up here in CA. we have had the most beautiful springlike weather here for the last few days. And I hear it should last thru the weekend. I have been walking everyday and feel like I have gotten my rythym back. My body has lost that bogged down sluggish feeling. And my energy level is back up. I dont even know why I let exercise slide in the first place. Anyway I am feeling better and getting my water in everyday also. Welcome Incontrol, this is a great bunch working back down to goal. Lots of support and good energy here. Kyoot-you are an inspiration! When I am out walking I think of all my buddies out there walking right beside me. Hey Raidermom isnt a sparkly refridgerator the best thing? Just makes everything look good and healthy in there. Now you have made me want to scrub out mine. Have a good time at your party. And if anyone peeks in your refridge your ready for them! Have a great day everyone. I weigh in tomorrow and will let you know what the scale says.

GOOD Morning, GBTG-Mates!
Another BEAUTIFUL day in Oregon. The daffodils are opening up in the orchard, and all around, and it is one gorgeous sight! :D
Lost one of the two pounds "gained" during this "episode": tongue.gif I still was ve-ry careful yesterday; I want to get back on the elliptical today (after visiting the vet, post-op). I still don't know what it was? I must have hurt my neck (or back) while exercising, for sure!
Cheryl~ YOU know what you need to do, and you'll do it. I think it's GREAT you're working exercise in, even though it puts more pressure on you at times graemlins/bcbsalute.gif ...You may have to pull an "appetizer all-niter"! ;)
Welcome, Incontrol!
Cheryl39~ Last time I added Craisins to the Pineapple Oat Bran...YUM-my! (And I've got another batch to bake-off today! graemlins/thumbup.gif ) Yes. Charski's in my "Tried And True" WW's recipe notebook a LOT!...
Sandylee~ I'm SO glad you're getting your good-feelings-going! And you, too, Kyoot. Way to go on finding the perfect route! You ALL are making me ITCH to exercise ( very carefully this time! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif ) Make It Great, Buddies~

Good morning buddies, we have sunshine here but it's not up to freezing yet. They are not good at forecasting the snow here - the weekend's 3-6" turned out to be all rain, and we had a dusting since then.
Yesterday we ignored the maple, it's been so bad, and wouldn't you know, we checked this morning and the buckets on the big tree were full. So we will be working tonight!
I am just about done with the Odyssey stuff. The team divided up their stuff yesterday and we cleaned up their storage area. We went over the scores, and I gave out their ribbons and certificates. I have a couple more things to deliver and I'm done. I hope to take care of it at lunch time. Then we are done until next year. Except for me, I am going to train to judge at the state competition this weekend.
Carol - we don't name our deer. There are too many to keep track of! We also have 3 or 4 squirrels that raid the bird feeder if they can (it's fun to watch them try). And the name for the skunk under the deck? I don't think I should post that here... tongue.gif
Incontrol, welcome to the GBTG group.
I have to get to work -- have a great day buddies!

Good morning all! I'm trying hard not to procrastinate and my Stepper is calling me, I think I hear it? well it could be that is needs oiling? yep it's calling, and mr2 and mr 4 are downstairs so I need to check on them and the same room as the stepper, now to keep their little fingers out of it!!
Sandylee, thank you so much, I don't think of myself as an inspiration but like you I'm not feeling that bogged down and sluggish feeling anymore, it was there from say Lifetime until I came here and found others with that feeling! I just don't know how I let it go? I loved that feeling of go go go and did crave it for a while but it is easy to get back to "oh exerise? I know I used to do it, but what did I do and when did I find the time?" SO back to graemlins/bcbkick.gif myself and the craving it back. I also crave my nightly gossip fest with my neighbour. Got to find out all the latest! you know I'm new so I'm learning everyone's names in the neighbourhood, and "uhhuh" can get a lot of juice out of someone. HA!!! (hope neighbour doens't read here, she is ww too)
Cheryl good luck with party Prep it will get done somehow it all fits in.
Cheryl39 lastnight we saw some northern lights while walking, in all the 26yrs I lived in Canada before I leftI never saw them, this was a first and it only took me 8months of being back! It made for some pretty walking but you kinda bump into each other if your not looking at the road!LOL could that be resistance? graemlins/clown.gif
Carol, Daffodils? I'm so Jealous! I want flowers but not the work! I have a lot of trees here that have to come out of the ground as they are crowding my foundation and the roses are very thorny, any safety suggestions on those?
Nancy, Training for judging sounds like some fun, does this mean you will be still coaching/fasilitating next year or just judging? The Maple sounds like fun but a lot of work. We have very few maple in my yard mostly conifers and birch.
OK procrastinating done, weighin tonight must go step it up since we wont be walking tonight other than around the grocerystore.

Quickie post, as I took a half day today for my doc appt. Who woulda thought that getting pregnant would be so difficult??? When you spend the first half of your adult life preventing pregnancy (because the nuns in school convince you that just LOOKING at a boy the wrong way will get you pregnant!!), trying to get pregnant and not being able to right away is FRUSTRATING! But the good thing is my doc said losing all my weight was one of the best things I could have done for TTC.
Incontrol ~ Welcome! You are definitely in the right place!
Raidermom ~ I did awesome with the lunch (greek salad, everything on the side), so good that when I got back to the office, they were having an ice cream sundae party for someone, and I had enough points to partake in a small serving!!
Well, gotta go get some work done (and enjoy the sunshine streaming through my window). Enjoy the day ladies!!

I'm back for a bit, before I have to get back to real work.
Kyoot, I will probably be coaching again next year. "They" know about me now, and my dd wants to do it again, and the middle school team (if they have one) will need a coach. I have been a judge for 12 years, so it should be pretty simple to train me in the details of judging this year's version of the "problem" the kids have to solve. The local judging leaders had been surprised to see me as a coach this year but I told them they'd been warned. I waited until now to get trained as a judge because if my team was going on to the state level, I would be going with them.
And the maple is work, yes, but it's worth it. I make my own real maple syrup. Mostly it looks like we will be boiling sap all night (our late night electric rate is 1/3 the day rate).
Jenn, my 10yo dd is a miracle of modern medical technology .. I had no idea it would be so hard either. But there is a lot they can do.
One of these days I will do proper personals again. I appreciate them!

Hi guys,
just checking in. I had a day of weird foods. I think it started with the bologna/salami for a snack. I took a cheese stick with me, I was out all day. Then I went to Target and bought miss merange cookies and nuts.
I pointed it all out and thats fine but...I think I should've packed a lunch for the car time. I just feel crappy.
I'm having a chicken breast and baby veggies for dinner (no time for the mandarin thing) :(
Nancy, DH is making a tray outside right now for this weekend. We're going to evaporate the sap outdoors. I hope it makes a good syrup, its exciting.

WOOOHOOOOOOOO Weigh in down .2. I even brought TOM to the scale with me. So I'm in a great mood. Update on the stepper, no children were hurt but I also procrastinated myself right into not getting on it! I did walk the grocerystore Aisles after weighin. So right now before the procrastinating gets out of hands and the next 2.25hours are gone for the day, I WILL get on that Stepper.

Way to go Kyoot! I decided to bring my breakfast cereal to school with me. It's that high fiber heart to heart. Very tasty and great dry. So I'm loaded with breakfast but forget my lunch on the table. I end up eating 3 cups of the container cereal which isn't all that much in points but.....  I just realized I had consumed triple the amount of fiber I normally eat.
Well at least it was healthy! So much for my trying to be organized.

Cheryl, happy boiling. It is cool to have a buddy also making syrup. Are you getting lots of sap? We got a lot again today, and dh says he fixed one tap that was leaking. A lot of people boil outside until it's about done and then finish in the kitchen where they can stick a thermometer in it. We will be boiling overnight with windows open and a fan on. I'm afraid of the trays I think I'm going to burn the sap. I have demonstrated in the schools how a 2-liter bottle of sap cooks down to about 1/4 c. of syrup. It's a pretty good visual and easier to grasp than the old 40 gal. to 1 gal. adage.
Kyoot, I hope you got on that stepper!
Grainne, way to go on the cereal! Better luck tomorrow with lunch.

I feel better today. I did 20 minutes on the bike AND then over to the treadmill for 30 (pat on back).
Nancy, that makes a great visual for me. The trees appear to be producing a bit of sap. We have to go back out for more taps and a filter.
DH made a tray out of an old file drawer
It looks pretty good he welded handles on the sides.

Good morning all, Happy Thursday! Only one more day to TGIF and getting out of the house with the boys on the weekend. DH has my van this week since his van (I know..) is awaiting a stereo install (I know again). Right now his van is empty off all seats but the two front and there are cables, wires, and ampliphires everywhere. I'm so glad that I was on that stepper lastnight instead of watching the disctruction.. I mean "construction". '
Mr 4 just went off to fill up my water so time to fill in some personals instead lastnights "drivethru" posts. smile.gif
Cheryl39 Way to go on the work out, that is awsome. This morning I'm dressed before 9am and getting the boys out in the wagon, I've also got a walking "date" with my neighbour tonight.
Jen, I used to belong to a TTC group on yahoo, we all moved to the "mom's" group but 3 and I have a 27/30 (with some secondtimers in there) rating on babydust, I'll send you a HUGE batch! I don't know why it works to so well but the ladies on my group seem to either humour me or roll in it. If you tell me which room you want it aimed at I can try!
nancy, you really sound like your enjoying both the time with your own kid/s and the time with other peoples children and the chance to learn and teach, that is an awsome feeling I'm sure. I'm not as patient as you sound. smile.gif
Incontrol your going to do great, great to see you again.
Oh something I came up with and mentioned lastnight during the meeting, I may have heard it else where but I kinda just blurted it out and the leader seemed to enjoy it,
You have to fuel the losing machine. Everyone have a great OP day!

You know how you feel when you haven't been able to do what you have WANTED to in quite awhile?! graemlins/crazy.gif Well, I've been up since 5 AM, and I'm afraid I've over-done (now my back is hurting... tongue.gif ) The self-care book SAID necks take a long time to heal.
I have: started my homemade yogurt; made a batch of Pineapple/Craisin/Walnut Oat Bran muffins; made Black Bean & Hulled Barley salad; AND, set out things for my Ricotta-Stuffed Peppers w/ Marinara and Whole Wheat Spaghetti.
Now I need to take a break with a nice hot cuppa' Chai~ smile.gif

Good morning buddies,
We have a short break so I'm going to catch up here.
We have had a lot of sap the last couple days, and today may be good too. Cheryl, I just use a coffee filter to "debug" sap. Are you planning to use a wood fire? But you will need a filter for the syrup. Even so you will probably wind up with sediment, just let it settle for a few days and pour carefully. More taps? You must have huge trees (or more trees). Sounds like you are ambitious! Do you have a candy thermometer? That's how I tell when it's done.
Last night I got trained as an Odyssey of the Mind judge so I can judge at the state competition this weekend. I'll be back on more familiar ground. Yes, I enjoy volunteering when I can. Dd has a swim meet this weekend and I recently completed the training to be an official there too.
Kyoot, that's a good way to put it:
You have to fuel the losing machine.Cheryl, the torta looks beautiful! Have fun getting ready for your party.
GTF, it's good to hear you enjoyed your training.
Everyone else, graemlins/wave.gif have a great day!

Hi ladies,
Nothing new in my little corner of the world, just insanely busy at work! Question for you gals. I'm having the worst hankering for a CHEESEBURGER. I know that I have to resolve this issue before I do something RASH ;) What do you guys think, do I save the points and have a cheeseburger, I mean a good one (not a crappy McD's one) or do I try to find a substitute? Please don't tell me boca because I don't like those (the "beef" patties that is, the "chix" ones are OK). I'm not sure if I'm craving the beef or the cheese. Sometimes I'll get a craving for something :bad" and the only way to lose the craving is to indulge it, then I'll be done with it. Other times, a good "substitute" will work to fix it. I can't tell which one this is. I'll take your suggestions!!
GotThatFire ~ Happy the Access training went well! (i'm so glad I don't have to do that stuff though, I'm SO not good w/numbers!)
nancy ~ Anything worthwhile in life is worth working for (like TTC, making maple syrup ;) )
Chreyl ~ Interesting selection of foods...sounds like something I'd concoct!! But good for you to get in SO much exercise!!!
incontrol ~ I love your sig: "Persistence, not perfection will get you to your goal." I will remember that for ALL the goals in my life right now!!
Kyoot ~ AWESOME job with the weight loss!!! You rock!! I'll take that babydust -- I LOVE the gals in the OP & TTC group, but I'll take some outsider fresh dust, we could use some right about now (I'll even share with my OP&TTC friends...)! And "which room you want it aimed at" -- the bedroom of course!! tongue.gif
Grainne ~ That's so funny about the cereal, I get myself into those situations all the time, but lots of FIBER isn't the worst thing you can overindulge in (and second thought, maybe it could be...!! !!)
Raidermom ~ MMMM, the torta looks delish. You could use 1/3 less fat cream cheese, do you think that would affect the taste? (but you probably already thought of that!! Good luck getting everything done!
WWCarol ~ Careful with overexerting yourself, take it easy! But that being said, can you come on over and make ME some of those delish, WW-friendly meals?

((peeking in the door after Costco....))
JENN - HAVE A CHEESEBURGER!!! Hey, I've never given up beef because every once in awhile I need a good ol' burger. I gave up the really good onion rolls or pumpernickel rolls and I buy the 1 pointers from Kroger and then I buy the 93% lean burger from Sam's Club...throw on a 1 point slice of cheese.....BURGER! Depending on how many points you are willing to spend on the beef will determine the size....but this particular beef is 1 point per ounce and I will make a 5-7 ounce burger with it.
GO FOR IT! graemlins/thumbup.gif

Hi, Jenn!
I've been ruminating on your problem...! ;)
I have waltzed-around a craving before, and afterwards thought, "Why didn't I just HAVE the ___?!" (Sounds like you want a cheeseburger, specifically. Not ambiguous like, "Something sweet...")
Depends upon your points situation. If you've GOT them, I'd have it and enjoy every bite! (Sounds pretty specific: burger, cheese, not MikeeDees, etc.) If I were LOW on points, I'd look for a "substitution", and hope I could head-it-off! graemlins/thumbup.gif graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Thank you ladies,
I think you answered my question. I will satisfy my craving. I'll have to do it today, though, because tomorrow is Friday and it's Lent, and I'm not gonna satisfy a craving but go to he-ll for it ;) LOL (boy, the nuns did a GOOD job of brainwashing me!!)
I'm going to Dotti's site now to look up point values. I will know EXACTLY how many points I am spending before I consume it. I don't want to have the stuff in my house (and it's not like you can buy ONE hamburger patty!!) I don't want MickeyDees either, but maybe Wendy's will suffice? Sometimes looking at the points values makes me re-evaluate if I REALLY want it, but if I do, I will go in with a plan!
Thanks again! I'm off to have LUNCH tongue.gif !!

Good morning ladies,
I am feeling icky this morning, I think I am getting a cold or something. Of course, nothing that would make my appetite go away ;) just something annoying and uncomfortable (achy, sore throat, tired). Oh well, at least it's Friday! But it is cold and snowy -- I keep reminding myself that it is supposed to be nearly 50 degrees on Sunday. Gotta love late winter early spring, one day you wear boots, the next day you wear sandals!
I had the cheeseburger, the craving is over. But it must have been salty, because I woke up with tight, swolen fingers, like if I had eaten too much salt. Well, today is lent and it's hard to eat badly (unless it's a fish fry which I don't intend to have!) so lots of water and eating light will fix that!
Cheryl ~ I wish I could have fixed my craving the way you do, but my DH is also super careful about what he eats (he's lost 65+ lbs by changing his diet and being a gym rat!!) so no cheeseburgers for him!
incontrol ~ Great job on the biking!! As soon as this stupid snow goes away here, I will be pulling my bike out and joining you!! The scale WILL move in time, I promise!
Grainne ~ Sorry the fiber kicked in at the most inopportune time!!!!
Hi to everyone else!! Have a great day!!

GOOD Morning, GBTB-ettes!
Well, THANK GOODNESS the second "additional" pound is gone, and I'm reset to where I started! How frustrating. My neck is still bothering me, so I plan to see a doctor if I'm not "healed" over the week-end~ ;)
I'm good-to-go with healthy foods here. It looks like another gorgeous day! And one squirrel has found the Corn Bungie and is standing on his tippee-toes and reaching to get kernels off, one by one. Next step? Raise the corn higher! :D It has a cute little bell that rings when the the corn moves...just so you know when there's "action"~
DD and I will be doing errands. Might look at pedometers. And hopefully, I'll feel like doing a little vacuuming when I get back. I've got DDog hairballs rolling around the hardwood floors like "sagebrushes"...! ;) tongue.gif (I exaggerate!)
I've had this on my mind. Many people have talked about the scale not moving...and then there's Grainne's story. I remember reading (HOW could I FORGET?!...) about a person listing the reasons for a weight gain, and her last reason was (she must've been a nurse)..."A full bowel". tongue.gif ;)
Lest we forget.

Good morning, GBTG Buddies:
jenn, "cold and snowy," those are the things I certainly do not miss about New York. It is 50 degrees here in Atlanta this morning, very sunny and should reach somewhere in the mid 60's. Ah, absolutely gorgeous. Hope you feel better as the days goes on.
cheryl39, have you tried the Sunkist Sweet & Spicy pouches? They are absolutely great. I add one tablespoon of mayo and put it on a bed of greens or a Western Alternative 1 pt bagel and I am good to go, no additional seasoing required.
I purchased a pouch of the hickory smoked, but haven't tried it yet. Zesty Lemon Pepper and Herb & Garlic next.
Thanks for that reminder, WWCarol smile.gif .

Good morning GBTG buddies,
I'm here for a quick visit at what's passing for my lunch break today. This afternoon I will register to judge the Odysey state competition, then come back to work for a bit, then go back for the judges' meeting. Tomorrow is the tournament, and I will be busy all day. Then Sunday dd has a swim meet, and I will be an official there too. I figure I'm going to the meets anyhow, and they were begging for people to help out, so I took the training. It also keeps me active, and too busy to eat.
Yes this is on top of having to make maple syrup this weekend. We are out of pots to store sap in various stages of being boiled down, and the trees are still dripping. The last 3 days have been what they call a "run" - lots of sap in a few days. Today and tomorrow are supposed to stay cold so maybe we will get a break. Then by Sunday it'll be warm again. We need the warm days and cold nights for the maple. So "cold and snowy" gives me a sense that things are as they should be for mid-March. When I lived in CA I missed this wacky weather, if you can believe that!
Jenn, I'm glad you enjoyed your burger. These days if I indulge in a burger it had better be a good one! I think Wendy's does the best of the fast food chains with the "junior" size burger. They even make it "deluxe."
Carol, that corn bungee sounds so fun. Is it something you hang from a tree? It might be fun to give our squirrels something else to do.
incontrol, be patient and keep up the good work. The scale will catch up!
Grainne, glad to hear the fiber incident worked out OK, if not with the best of timing tongue.gif
Carol, I've noticed that particular extra weight too! ;)
Cheryl & GTF, that pre-packaged stuff sounds interesting. I may try them.

Yes, Nancy. It hangs from a tree limb. I got it at Bird's Unlimited. They have a video to sell it that's HILARIOUS!
In it, they hang upside down, grabbing the corn, while the bungie cord is going up/and/down (and the little bell is "tinkling")! :D
Our "nester" is sitting, untouched. The feeders have gotten little action...It may LOOK like some Spring days here, but the animals aren't acting like it yet!
Your maple syrup sounds like my Gooseberry puree! I picked the entire tree, and after I put it through the electric mill I have about 2 cups! So it's ve-ry pre-cious... graemlins/kiss.gif

Nancy, I was a bit skeptical at first also, I mean flavored tuna, but the sweet and spicy sounded doable so I tried it.
If you like tuna I think you will love these. I'm still a little skeptical of the others, even though I like the sweet and spicy. So, I'll give you the verdict when I try them smile.gif . If you try the other flavors first, let me know what you think.

Hi all, I know I'm later than usual, it's been a full day of chasing mr2 nad mr4. smile.gif Fun fun. I did get out for my walk lastnight for 53minutes from door to door. LOL Tonight I'm going agian for about 95minutes and then sitting with "a" glass of wine and DH.
Jen, YAY!! burger. I made the boys burgers today for lunch while I the good little girl had tuna between whole wheat pita with a slice of cheese lettuce and ultra light mayo. It was good but not a burger.
Carol yay on the squirrel action,
Incontrol, Your cruising on that bike!! 2 days is a great start, a few more and you've got 5/7 for a week.
GTF I do not want to hear about your 50F morning, LOL (still getting snowed on since waking up to 2inches this morning) I want a 50F day!!!
Cheryl39 YAY! on your biking too, I must go home to my mom's and find my bike or bribe Dh to buy me a new bike. I wonder...? i'll think of something to bribe him with.
nancy you are one awsomely busy woman!

Hi guys, I'm late for WI. Well, I already did here and it looks like I gained ( at myself). I know how it happened (pointing fat finger at myself).
GTF: that tuna sounds excellent I haven't tried that flavor. I did try the lemon and that was not bad but I haven't bought it again either. They had pouches for 3 for $2.00. Pretty cheap.
guess I gotta go, the check is already made

Good morning goalfriends. I am late posting this but wanted to report my weigh in on thursday. I was down .2. not much but not a gain either. Gosh this scale has got to catch up sooner or later. I feel good about the week, exercised every day, drank my water every day and of course stayed within my points. Yesterday my sister (another lifetimer) and I went shopping at a huge flea market and came home with lots of new (to us) clothes. We like to do this a couple of times a year. Can you get AP points for shopping? I was flat out tired when we came home. I have a busy weekend with lots of home projects. I bought a new entertainment center. Of course it comes in pieces so I will attempt to put that together. Also yard work, lots of it. Have a great weekend all.

Good morning buddies!
I've missed you guys. I couldn't even get on yesterday to lurk!
The party went very well, it was fun actually! And when it comes to home parties....FUN isn't usually the word that comes to mind. 3 of the girls booked their own party because they liked it so much. I also went overboard on the food like I always do. Each guest that came in and looked at my spread and said " How many people are coming???" (I had 8 guests) I even had one that is having a jewelry party next week ( ) tell me not to expect anything like what I had....."I rip open bags and pour things in bowls...." LOL!
And btw - my torta was picture perfect, I was so proud. Another wonderful and easy sneezy appetizer is taking a block of cream cheese and letting it sit out for a couple of hours to soften, put it on a serving plate and then pour Rasberry Chipotle sauce over it. Mmmmmm! It was soooo good! Costco carries a great rasberry chipotle sauce and I was so impressed with it that I looked at the bottle and saw they had a website.....a bottle 1/4 the size of the Costco one costs just as much! So I ran BACK up to Costco for more....and they are almost gone. graemlins/ugh.gif I think I have enough to get me thru summer though..... tongue.gif
So........I have enough food here to throw another party. Whatcha guys doing this weekend?? :D
Carol - your mailbox is full sweetie. ;)
It's gonna take me awhile to catch up on the happenin's around here, so I'll do personals a little later. Besides, DH is on afternoons this weekend and I'll have plenty of time......my house is already spotless! :D
Off to the gym...have a great day everyone! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif
Edited to say - I FORGOT TO SAY I LOST 1 POUND THIS WEEK! I'm in the 160's now, WOO HOO!

WOHOOOOO I see we have some losers! that is awsome!! .2 is great. and so is 1lb!! awsome!!! Anything off is less that we have to deal with in the following week. smile.gif
Cheryl glad your party went well, what kind of party was it? "at home in America" or something different? I went to an "at home in america" party when I live in the US and bought their mini batter bowls, and they are exactly 1cup so I use them for measuring when my measuring cups are "used" (read never cleaned) or for 1 cup of soemthing and make it look bigger.

I like their products. I think they came to Canada before the US? I think I still have that book in the house somewhere.

GOOD Afternoon, GBTG-ies!
Yesterday I bought one of those foam/velcro neck braces, and it has really helped! It took the pressure off, so I was able to start feeling better! smile.gif
Bad thing was, I couldn't turn my head well enough to see an "oncoming" car...and had to SLAM on my brakes and avoid an accident! It would have been my fault.
So far today, DH and I pruned the orchard. A sunny beautiful day, and we are done with THAT task! graemlins/thumbup.gif I wore my neck brace so I wouldn't make any wrong-moves, AND so that people would feel really sorry for me. ( ;) :D LOL!) Now I'm on the computer for the first time today and then I'm taking a rest... graemlins/sleep.gif
I cleaned out my mailbox. Thanks, Cheryl! graemlins/kiss.gif It didn't look like sixty messages to me?! Oh well.
I wish MY house were ALREADY CLEAN! ((grumble grumble))
I have rented the DVDs, "Lost In Translation" and "School Of Rock" for tonight~ If they are better than TV shows, then I'm happy~ :D
I have been soooooo irritable lately, with my d---neck. You Buddies should be glad you are sooooo far away from me!

Good evening buddies, yes I know I'm busy. I like it that way, except when I get overwhelmed  . I have a few minutes between the Odyssey state competition and leaving for the swim meet to drop in and say Hi. We had a great time, as usual. I'll have to look up the winners tomorrow evening.
Kyoot I like your names for your children, perhaps I should start calling dd "ms10" ?? I want to get my bike out soon.
Cheryl, I'm glad to hear your party and the food came out well. I'd be happy to help with the leftovers but MI is a little far...
Carol, be careful out there!! My dh relies on his mirrors. I want a clean house too, but it'll have to wait.
Grainne, congratulations on the loss. Take it, whatever the reason.
Everyone else, graemlins/wave.gif
Have a great weekend!

Good evening buddies,
I did get out for my walk 61minutes tonight, I think the ice kept us on our toes balancewise some of the melting of today froze!
Nancy I like calling the boys mr2 nad mr4 so that you all get where I'm coming from, LOL they keep me hopping, but I'm not very much of a go go go mom, I'm home with them a lot almost every day. September is going to be a big change for me when mr4 is mr5 and is going to school. I know he is ready but I'm not. He was a preemie so I have that in the back of my mind that little tiny 5lb7oz and I want to keep him all to myself. LOL I know it souds sookie! (where did that tangent comefrom?) I'm really very much a homebody but I hear children really cure you of that quick.
wwCarol, I'm sorry your neck is still sore, I hope it heals up quickly witht he brace and be careful! smile.gif
Grainne, nope can't say back in the 60's I wasn't there at all or even thought of. (r and d) Congrats on your .8 awsome! fibre is a good thing, and it may not have been the fibre because you;ve been watching else where too! and planning.

What a beautiful sunny day!! We haven't had many of those lately and it's perfect for the St Paddy's Day Parade. I'm going down later today for the ceili at the Irish Club.
We're sitting here planning our trip to Europe. DF wants to go to Germany and visit where his Mother was born. (Bavaria) We both also want to see Rome and then he's coming back while I go to Ireland to visit with my family. This trip has been a great incentive to exercise so that my legs are in good walking condition.
Carol: Tsk, tsk!! No pruning with a neck brace. Take it easy.

Hi hope your Sunday is going fine. I love my Sundays; its a peaceful day.
So, off topic but does anyone know how to clean to ball in the mouse? My mouse is driving me graemlins/crazy.gif . It keeps sticking.
It has started to rain so we're not going to make syrup. The winds are gusty also.
Cheryl, I went to a jewelry party around Xmas. It was alot of fun and I did buy some great pieces. The women who made them use quality metals and stones. You need confidence to wear them as they strike conversations. I also have tried cream cheese with raspberry salsa, yummy!
I walked 50 minutes outside bf the rain started (I think God was holding it off until I got home, I thanked Him)
Oh hi Grainne graemlins/wave.gif Carol, she's right about pruning. Just take it easy. Look at bulb catalogs or something. tongue.gif
okay, everyone stay good and have a great Sunday.

Good morning everyone! graemlins/wave.gif
DD woke up with a sore throat today and DH is sleeping after pulling a double shift last night....so I don't think I can get to the gym today. :( I think I'll just wait until DH leaves for work (our bedroom is right below the living room...) and pull out one of my exercise tapes...WATP or Sweatin' to the Oldies.
Grainne - Ahhh, I'd love to see Rome. That sounds like a fabulous trip. Congrats on the .8, that's great!
Cheryl - I gave up and bought an optical mouse...you'll never go back to the regular mouse after that. BUT, just unscrew the bottom of the mouse and you should be able to pull that ball out...clean it really good with alcohol and put it back together. That should do it. You might also want to clean the area that surrounds the ball, that gets grimy as well. And as far as my "eyerolling" of the jewelry party...I am not much of a jewelry person. I only wear my mother's ring, my wedding ring, and my cameo. For special occasions I'll wear earrings....and I like gold. This is silver jewelry and it's kinda pricey....so I'm not thrilled at the prospect of having to pay for something I don't like.
Carol - The only pruning you should be doing right now is adding the edible kind to your oatmeal. ;)
Kyoot - My Ms4 will be Ms5 this summer...time flies doesn't it? I am working at the kindergarten 3 days a week though....it's 1st grade that's going to be rough on me.... graemlins/sobbing.gif Why do they grow so quickly?
Nancy - I hope you have a more restful day today.
Sandylee - Kudos on the .2!! graemlins/thumbup.gif
Jenn - Freeze a few patties in the freezer, that way if YOU want a burger you can have one! Glad you enjoyed your burger, that's what I'm making today!
Have a wonderful day buddies......

GOOD Morning, GBTG-Girls! ( Are there guys?!)
Haven't you all heard: Make hay while the sun shines?! The buds were already on the trees! It HAD to be done~ :D
And I have MUCH better range of motion today. I can nod "yes" pretty well, and "no" is getting better...LUCKILY, I'm still verbal!
Cheryl: JUST SAY "NO" to silver jewelry you don't want! http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif
DH has said that he will be my Cleaning-Fairy-Helper for this morning; I'm so behind and he's going to help. graemlins/kiss.gif The scales showed a GAIN (sodium and no exercise?) and I'm bummed about that. http://img14.photobucket.com/albums/v41/raidermombcb/censored.gif
"Lost In Translation": http://img14.photobucket.com/albums/v41/raidermombcb/no.gif (unless you LIKE getting depressed for-no-reason?), and "School Of Rock": Fun, if you're in the right mood.
Well, I HEAR the vacuum going downstairs so I'd better get my wings on! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

hi all,
Had a good day today. got out to mass at 930 instead of lazying arround until the 1130, dh went to work this afternoon and the mr2 and m4 wiggled their way through the afternoon. I must have listened to that CD 7 times today! I went for my walk tongiht 90minutes! we are getting faster on that new route, but also there is less/no snow on the roads now.
Good to hear everyne had a great weekend. Cheryl your so right about mrsoon to be 5? the time just FLEW! This will be his first year of school I didn't do daycare, preschool or anything else with him so September is going to be a shocker for me.
Good night buddies, wow I guess tomorrow is a new thread? the week flew by!

Good evening buddies,
I'm finally slowing down after a busy weekend. Dd had a good swim meet today, 2 heat ribbons and no DQs. I did help officiate, it was very different being away from the people I usually work with. I learned a lot. Afterwards we went shopping for a while, then made our way home. I had one meal at home all weekend. But I think I did OK points-wise. Back to the normal schedule next week. Finally. Or normal given that it's maple season, anyhow.
Kyoot, kindergarten will be a change for you! My dd was 5 lb. 8 oz. when she was born, and I could just about hold her in one hand. It's hard to believe she's now almost 5 feet tall. She may make it by her 11th birthday in June. She also graduates from elementary to middle school. And yes it's been fast! Will mr4 go for a half or full day?
Grainne, your trip does count like a good reason to stay in shape. It sounds like fun!
Cheryl, some years ago someone at work circulated an article on the care of computer mice. Funny but not very clean!! It was hunted down by manglement but many of us still have copies. Seriously you clean the ball and the rollers inside the mouse with anything that will clean the stuff off; I have used tape to get the stuff off just as you might remove pet hair from clothes. You might use a q-tip to reach the rollers. Also clean the desk surface; even mouse pads collect dust. I also have an optical mouse, but it's old and I don't have a driver for Windoze XP so I didn't move it when I got my newest machine.
Cheryl (raidermom) I'm not much of a jewelry person either, I even regularly forget to put earrings in the holes in my ears. Just my wedding ring.
Carol I'm glad your neck is doing better! And I'm glad your dh is pitching in, and that you managed to get your pruning done without making it worse.
I hope everyone has a great evening.
Yes Kyoot, Monday starts a new thread.
