Hi everyone. I'm 23 and I finally convinced my husband to join the gym with me. (Still can't get him to go to pilates with me). Anyway, he used to lift a lot in high school, so we lift together and he helps me. I do three sets of ten. I start with a decent amount of weight, and do ten reps. Then, I add maybe two to five pounds (depending on machine) for the next set. On the last set, I have usually increased the weight by no less than five pounds from my beginning. We lift until failure, which means we lift until we can't lift anymore. He says pushing your muscles too exhaustion is how you build muscle. My question is this, if I lift for about fourty give to sixty minutes, and I'm 165 (Cringe at that number) how many WW AP points do you think I'm getting?

Thanks,
Tasha

i usually set my ww exercise points finder to between moderate (closer to moderate) and high, because i really work out harder when im lifting than when im doing cardio. my heart rate goes higher, and i exert myself more during lifting. smile.gif i usually get about 4 ap's per 1 hr. lifting session. (we do enough weight to get to failure in 8-10 reps, 3 sets each). hope this helps! graemlins/wave.gif

Tasha,

For your weight moderate at 40 min. would be 2 AP's. 60 min. would be 3.

At high intensity for 40 min. it would be 5 AP's & for 60 min. it would be 8.

I don't think it should be counted as high intensity, though, IMO.

Tasha...I am about the same weight as you are...typically I lift for about 20 minutes in addition to my cardio, and I only give myself one AP for that amount of time...given that, I'd say that judy's estimates for that length of time are correct...
