are these two products the same thing? does any body know? i was at a health food store today and the lady said they are both soy protien and i don't know that much about lechithin granuales i wanted them to put in low fat baked goods to lighten the texture. a cook book recommends to use these. any help or info would be greatly appreciated. tia jane :D

Let me put it this way, I wouldn't buy lecithin to use instead of tvp. More info here:

I've never used lecithin in cooking but I'm sure others here know more about it. You might ask Momma25. I have used TVP as a ground meat substitute in soups, sloppy joes, spaghetti sauce, but it is very different from lecithin:

You just rehydrate TVP and use it just like you would crumbled hamburger.
