View Full Version : Weigh-In Time?

When I joined WW, I started at a 5:30 p.m. meeting. At the end of the day I weigh more than I do any other time of the day. Sometimes as much as 5 pounds more than in the morning.
I'm not sure that the end of the day weight reflects my actual weight. Maybe it doesn't matter that much EXCEPT that it makes my 10% weight loss goal higher by about a pound and psychologically (of course) I like the lower weight I weigh in the mornings (in the 170s instead of the 180s).
Also, and most importantly, reaching my goal weight could be a lot more attainable if I'm weighing in in the morning.
Any thoughts on this or is it a big "ho hum, doesn't matter"?

I think it only matters if you plan on setting your goal very close to the top of your range.
When I think of my "weight", I do think of my first thing in the morning no clothes on yet weight, rather than my all clothes on and I've eaten weight. My eventual goal reflects that...it's several pounds higher than what I will think of my weight if you know what I mean.
I take my daughter so there's only 1 meeting available for me (monday 9:30). However, I do love it since my weight is a lot less variable after just one meal, than I found it to be at noon meetings or 6:00 meetings.

I think the key is just to be consistent with your weigh-in time. And realize that if you weigh in at 7am one week and are 5:30pm the next, at least part of the difference will be due to the time of day.

I must agree. I am always the one to wonder why we cannot WI buck naked at 6 am, after peeing, before showering, and before breakfast. I guess that might be scary :eek: (at least for the people who would have to see me!). I WI in the evenings this year as well and it can be frustrating because I see my biggest losses in the morning at home, but they don't always show up at official WI. Last year, I went to WI whenever I could fit it in and I went to a WW center, where they had about a dozen different meeting times per week (including walk-in hours). Now, I can only make it to one meeting on Tuesday nights, so I know that my weight is a bit higher. I guess the trick is consistency, too. I try to wear the same thing on Tuesdays and drink the same amount of water, etc. Good luck!
