Hi I have just complete my first week at WW and lost 3#s! I'm an American living in Hong Kong and need to lose about 100#s. I have gained this weight over the last 8 years (used to be 140) and am comitted to taking it off. My problem is that I'm around food all day. I run my own business (catering, restaurant management & food demonstrations) and it's tough not to taste stuff.
I've had enough of this weight though and hope to find some support on these boards. Is there anyone else in Asia?

Lokking forward to meeting you all.

Lori

hey lori! CONGRATULATIONS on your 3lb loss great job, and welcome to bootcamp graemlins/wave.gif please stick around just now our little page here is very quiet, but it used to be very busy and i know it will be again very soon,

everyone here at the international connection are very friendly and you are at the right place for support, if we can help you we will.

i think you are one of our first from asia :D slowly the international is going global!

i know what you mean about working around food it is sometimes very difficult, I am assistant manager in a restaurant when you spend 9 hous a day at work and it gets busy it is hard not to pick, once you get it right in your mind you will be ok, i tried to explain to my friend imajin trying to loose weight but everyday you have your dinner in a restaurant! for me i plan my day around what i will eat at work and i try to decide before i go and in my mind i balance it with something low points at home.

good luck on your journey, i hope it is one with few tears but lots of laughter and even a little self discovery thrown in for good measure graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

looking forward to getting to know you

G'day Lori graemlins/wave.gif woohooo on the loss graemlins/thumbup.gif what a great start graemlins/crazy.gif This is awesome another international buddy, there's not too many of us at the moment!

Remember to count for every taste and lick that you put into your mouth!!!!! I originally had 85lbs to lose when I first started, and made many mini goals along the way, and shopped, shopped, shopped :D

Looking forward in seeing you around graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO Lori great loss, your goal sounds very acheivable. smile.gif Way to go. You'll find all kinds of tricks that work for you, and will work with your work. I'm a Canadian living in the US and fleeing for higher (Norther) ground the end of the month Canada Calls smile.gif you'll like it here in the International Connection I think I've finally found a board I fit into. smile.gif

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I weigh in again on Tuesday and will be shocked if I've lost anything this week. It's been back to back catering functions and I do have to taste everything before it goes out. I'm currently trying to come up with a plan to factor in my tastes at work and have it fit in with my points. We are using the Australian/NZ points plan which means I have to convert from kilojoules to calories for anything to make sense to me when figuring out food points!

Lori, is Hong Kong, metric or imperial  If you're using the Aus/NZ points plan is that cos you are metric??? I know I have to convert things from metric to imperial, but only so others at this site know what I'm on about.

Hi Biz,

HK uses the metric system, but I think we're using the Aus/NZ plan because that's where our leader is from. Someone told me they used to use the UK system.
