View Full Version : Anyone from England?
Anyone here from England? I've just moved back here from the USA and would love to talk to someone. I've switched over to the UK system now.

Hi Alison,
I'm a Canadian living in England and using the uk programme. I'd be interested to hear how you rate the set points v flexible points approach.
I check into the international board once in a while so I'll look for your posts.
Cheers, Millie
I found it a bit of a struggle to begin with as I liked the flexibility of having a range. In a way I still keep a sort of range as I sometimes eat 18 points (20) and at other times I eat exercise points. It has taken me a while to get out of the USA way of thinking about points as they are different values. However moving here I have had to learn the new points as the food is all different. The ww scales that point stuff has really eased the transistion
Where abouts are you living in the UK

Hi Alison,
I'm not from the UK but I remember you from a while back on BCB. I went by Tymber. It is nice to "see" you again. If I recall correctly the last time I posted you were getting ready to move to the UK. I believe you were also expecting??
That must have been rough changing the pts. Which do you find easier or is it about the same? Happy to hear that you are adjusting to the UK way.
Take care smile.gif
And i had been looking for posts by Tymber! Thought you had moved away. Yes i had a baby boy a month early called Robert. We thought we would be returning to the UK in March 2002 instead it got postponed til June 2003 - then I got all 3 kids into an excellent school with the condition that they started Jan 2003 so hence my early return alone with 4 kids! DH got back for good 3 wks ago. You probably remember the hyperemesis (severe morning sickness I had) - I was on the tablets til i went into early labour and only gained 3lbs! Not like my 50lbs of previuos pregnancies. Great to hear from you

Hi Alison,
Congratulation on the birth of you baby boy! :D :D Yes, I remember how ill you were. Three lbs is not much weight. How big was Robert at birth?
That must have been difficult moving with the children by yourself. It is great that you were able to get them enrolled in a good school even if it was a little sooner than you had expected.
It must be nice to have the whole family in one country again.
How are you doing with program? I was 14 lbs from goal and had a few very stressful months and stopped WW and gained all of the weight back. I am kicking myself for that now as I am finding it difficult getting in control again. I post on the S&S everyday. I am taking it one hour at time. I will get to goal that I know for sure but when I don't know. Sometime within the next 12-15 mths is what I am aiming for.
Good to "hear" from you. smile.gif
Hi Chouchi graemlins/wave.gif
Great to hear from you. Robert was 6lbs 8oz so a really good weight
Wow so close to goal. I know that feeling of slipping back all to well. I've gained 13lbs since Jan / Feb due to all the stress here - hence i didn't come back to BCB. I'm not totally motivated at the moment as i spend all day with the kids and don't get any break til 8pm at night - when i collapse! I'm trying to look into a day care for 2 mornings a week that would allow me some ME time and time to get jobs done - it's impossible with a toddler who empties everything and climbs on everything!
Keep up your good work. I know you will get there. I once got to goal and gained 0.5lbs but was too embarrassed to go back!!!! HOW STUPID OF ME!!!! Now I have 50lbs to deal with
