I lived in Edmonton from 12/99 to 11/01.
Then I moved my Canadian husband to the states for
awhile. I sure miss it up there!
We are planning to fly up and visit for a week 12/6. Where would I find a good WW meeting in the "City of Champions"?

BTW, we watched the Grey Cup and were glad to see Edmonton play but sad she lost. Congrats to Montreal, tho.

We used to visit Hornby Island years ago when our friends had property there and would stop on Denman Island on the way through. I just had a look at the web page you mentioned. This group is based on the diet book "Get with the Program!" by Bob Greene.
Last week I was watching the news on CTV and they mentioned the best and worst diet books. These were rated by "the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine". The best was "Eat more, Weigh Less" by Dean Ornish, M.D. It earned 5 stars. The second best was "Get with the Program!". It earned 4 stars.
Needless to say "Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution" got no stars and was rated as unsafe.
So, the "Get with the Program" at least isn't unsafe. If I hadn't gone through WW I might have considered trying one of the recommended diet books but, I think my success was due to the support that you get from the meetings.

Hi, I am a newbie and I am residing in Canada. Right now I am a "transplant" American citizen, applying for perm residence. I have been on WW since Nov 2000. I joined BCB to keep me on track and help crack my "attitude plateau"- my lukewarm adherence to the program that's kept me losing and gaining the same eight pounds for the last 6 months. No more! From now on it's OP all the way, I am tired of spinning my WW wheels!
