View Full Version : Memorial Day Bikini (or Swimsuit) Challenge!

Okay, guys! We only have about 13 weeks until Memorial Day and then summer is officially here! Last year I looked better than I have in previous years, thanks to WW (and Body for Life) but still not good enough for the bikini. This year I will wear a bikini and be proud. So join me on this 13 week challenge!

I pledge 14 pounds, bringing me to 120. I pledge to do FIRM workouts 3 times a week and run at least 3 times a week.

I am definitely in. This has been one of my goals since starting up a few weeks back. In Bermuda, we have Bermuda Day (instead of Memorial Day) and it's always May 24th...no matter when it falls. If it falls on a weekend then we either get the Friday or Monday off in lieu. This year it actually falls on a Monday.

My pledge is as follows:

- 150 lbs by Bermuda Day - which is a total loss of 20lbs in 12 weeks or 1.6 lbs per week
- keep up the exercise routine at least 4 days a week (I'm currently doing a program to be able to run for 20 minutes straight by the end of 12 weeks) so I should be able to run for 20 minutes straight by then.
- JOURNAL, JOURNAl, and JOURNAl some more!

I'm in! I pledge 19 pounds, which will take me down to 147. Not exactly bikini material, unless I start doing some serious crunches. smile.gif I pledge to hit the gym at least 3 times a week and cut back on my alcohol intake on the weekends. :cool:

By the way, Jenny, what part of TN are you from? I graduated from UT in '02 and hope to be back in Knoxville this fall for grad school.

I'm in! Twenty pounds and pledge to work out three times a week. That is my difficult goal..working out.

If I loose 20lbs, I'll be down to 205. I haven't been that weight as an adult. Hubby is going to join me with the same goal. We are WW buddies.

Hey everyone! I'm so glad to see everyone joining in! We should update our progress every week after WI or whenever you have time.

VolGrl--I am not in Tennessee anymore. Grew up there, but left after high school and now I am living in GA (previously lived in AL for awhile during college). I still miss TN, though. And I am TOTALLY a vol fan!! What are you going to grad school for? Are you originally from TN?

I am going to get a Master's in English with a concentration in Writing. I've already been accepted to UT Chattanooga, but I'd love to go back to UT Knoxville if they take me. I'm originally from Virginia, which is where I am now, but I loved living in Tennessee. So keep your fingers crossed for me! smile.gif

HI:

Please excuse my ignorance, I am from Canada nad I am not sure when your Memorial Day is.

In Canada, things start rolling after our May24th weekend, which is 12-13 weeks from now (the same timeline you are thinking of?).

Anyway, I pledge to lose 20 pounds and workout 4-5 times a week. That will bring me down to 134 pounds and 9 pounds away from my goal weight.

Maybe not bikini time yet, but certainly wearing a bathing suit in public and proud of it!

I'm in!! graemlins/wave.gif I am very excited I have 14.5 pounds until I reach goal. I am really excited for this challenge and I hope I can make it. I pledge to stay OP and work out 20 mins on the treadmill everyday. Good luck everyone and keep posting updates :D

KLM: Yes, it sounds like the same time you are thinking of! smile.gif Sorry I didn't take that into account!

Lana--I am glad you are excited! You will reach goal this summer. As for me, I am actually getting back to goal, and a little bit lower. I really think we can all motivate eachother!

I'd like to join as well! I really need something to get me going towards goal. I pledge 11.5 pounds in 13 weeks, bringing me down to 136.

Hi guys. I weigh in on Fridays, which would be today. The scale this morning showed a 1/2 pound gain. While I'm certainly not happy about it, I'm not going to let it get me down either. That was last week. Today is a new start. I believe the problem last week was too much eating out where it's difficult to accurately count my points. So this week I will stick to what I have at home and continue going to the gym, and next week is bound to be better!

I'd like to join this challenge! I've lost my motivation and this may be just what I need. I pledge 15 pounds by Memorial Day. I pledge to workout at least 3 days a week (this is up from 0).

Hey all. I'm just trying to get rid of these nerves because I have WI in tomorrow I'm nervous I walked 4 miles today that got me a little relaxed well I'll let ya all know first thing tomorrow morning.

Lana--I am proud! 1/2 pound is still good! Plus you walked 4 miles!
MamaCath--I had lost my motivation, too, up until a few weeks ago. For the past few days we have had really pretty weather, and my motivation is back up for sure--thinking about bathing suit, shorts, and summer dresses!

My weigh-in was Sat and I lost 2 pounds!

Hey Lana,

Every 1/4 lb. lost is a STICK of BUTTER off your body! That always makes me feel better when I lose a small amount-hope it helps you too!

I weighed in today (Tues) and have lost 2.75 lbs!! That's a total of 12.5, so I'm pretty happy right now. Thanks for motivating me to stay on track!

Heyy now how's everyone doing? Hope everyones on track and going good, I had a 3 day business trip just got back today I'm exhausted I stayed on target and worked out at the hotel, I feel great about that, all I all I had to resist all the free breakfasts and snacks, ah feels good though knowing I didn't give in. Well I have WI on monday and I'm hoping its good because of how good I've been this week smile.gif Well tomorrow is going to be a bunch of school work from all I've missed the passed days. graemlins/wave.gif

I have good news...I lost another 1.5 pounds this week, bringing me to 130.5!! I'm excited. I think this thread is really helping me to feel accountable.

I have been eating very healthy the past few weeks and I think this is what is helping so much.

Suzie Lightning...congrats on your good loss!!
Lana--try to look at the big picture. At the end of 12 weeks, one week won't make that big of a difference. At least you didn't gain.

I, on the other hand, weighed in 1 pound heavier this week (I don't say "gained" b/c who knows what caused it), bringing me to 131.5 again. I am okay with this because I am still less than when I started. This will be a great week! I hope we all see losses!

Every year around this time I vow to get below 140. I always end up staying around 148. Now, I am up a little, which is unacceptable. Maybe I need this challenge right now to motivate me to actually make my goal. My goal is to be 135, my prepregnancy weight. So count me in.

Sorry---I have been out of town for the past 2 weeks. I am still stuck at 130.5. I ALWAYS do this. Once I get to this weight it is so hard for me to go below it. I will keep at it, though.

Bikini Challene ladies....where are you!

Ladies, I am going to scream! I had a 4.5 gain this week! It is not a true gain b/c this week is TOM and because I used all my flexpoints Friday night at a Palm Sunday dinner (yeah, doesn't make sense, I know) but I am still frustrated. I WILL have a great loss next week!

MedB4 and lana, great job! i am so frustrated! graemlins/crazy.gif This ALWAYS happens!! I have been at the weight my whole life before I gained the weight that inspired me to join WW. It is like my body remembers this weight and stops! I have tried everything...the only thing I can do is stay OP 24/7.
Even if I don't meet my goal of 10 more pounds by Memorial day, I hopefully will be only 5 pounds over.

This week I am going to increase my cardio.

I know that I am EXTREMELY late joining...but count me in! I have been away from BCB, fighting a severe virus for 8 weeks and am finally getting better!

So as of today, we have 5 weeks until Memorial Day. I pledge to lose 8 pounds which would put me at 142. I think I just might be able to do it!

Hey where is everyone?? and how is everyone doing? well I'm stuck at 141.5 don't know if I'm goin to go anywhere I have WI tomorrow..ahh pray for me I've been OP and I'm sure some of you may know how it is to work hard and not see results I'm sure I could work harder by working out but I know the excuse'i dont have time' but the thing is I DON'T wish soo badly that i did I feel like the biggest cow because I havent been able to work out not much I can do until school is out.
