View Full Version : What weight and size goals do you 5'8" er's have?

Hi!
I'm 5'8" and set my original goal at 160 because any lower seemed unreachable and 160 is the top of the healthy BMI. Now I'm about 5 lbs away and I think I'll make it, so I'm dreaming about my next goal. I'm comfortable in a 14 and can wear some 12's... is size 10 reachable? About how many pounds would I have to be to fit in 10's? What goals do the rest of you have?

Edie, How long have you been OP? I notice your reg. date as March 2003. Congrates on your loss so far.
This is my goal. I am 5'6" my WWgoal is 148 my PG is 140. I started with a size 22/24 now my 18 are loss and can fit into some 16 depends on the store. Faded Glory no way the sizeing seems small. Clothes at Kohls smile.gif
In May I thought that a 14 would be my clothes size goal. I have between 40 and 48lbs to goal. I don't know were the clothes size will be. Use the mirror and how you feel to decide.

I don't typically post on this board, but I'm 5'8" so I wanted to help out. Edie, my goal is 155, which is about in the middle of the range WW gives. That puts me in a size 10 and an occasional 12. I have made goal before and find it's a weight I can maintain without problems.
If you're still losing each week, your body can get to a lower goal. Best of luck to you!

I just wanted to comment on the fact that your size will not only depend on your weight but on your muscle mass.
I am 5'8 1/2 and hover at about 144ish...my WW goal is 145. I have worn a size 8 as long as I've been at goal weight..however, in the past 4 months I have upped my exercise to about 6 days a week..and although I weigh the same..I am packed tighter because my body consists of a greater % of muscle. So, I now wear mostly a size 6.

I have been at goal for over a year now. At 5'71/2" I range between 138 and 142, which puts me at a Gap size 8 (and sometimes a 6) and everywhere else a 10 and sometimes an 8.
Like the last poster, the more I exercise the smaller I am, though my weight always stays in the same range.
Be sure to allow your mental image of yourself to catch up with what you see in the mirror. For a time I was down to 136 and it was too low for me. I like myself best around 139 with a higher muscle mass.

I'm also 5'8" and here are my currrent "mini goals, as I like to call them:)
My starting weight was 184lbs
1st goal - 165lbs...reached and maintained
2nd goal - 155lbs
3rd goal - 145lbs
We'll see how I look after that..right now I can't picture myself as 20lbs lighter!
