So I waited for the in-laws to go home before starting WW. Today is my first day OP, and I'm going out for Thai food tonight with my girlfriends. I'm posting to keep myself accountable -- the plan is to eat 1 cup of pad thai for 7 points, and drink water with lemon.
20 points sure is a challenge!
20 points sure is a challenge. Just don't let yourself feel deprived and use some of those flex points if necessary. I use all my flex points, 5 a day, so I eat a total of 25 per day. I am very close to goal and still losing 1/2 pound a week. Good luck!

I decided I wanted to use more flex points and have 2 cups of the pad thai for 14 points. I'm still OP, but will have to be frugal with my flex points for the rest of the week.
So here's how my day stacked up:
Activity
1 pt -- 30 min moderate
Breakfast
5 pts -- 1.5 servings Kashi Crunch
2 pts -- FF milk
Lunch
1 pt -- 1 slice multi-grain bread
1 pt -- 1 oz turkey breast
1 pt -- 1 tablespoon greek dressing
2 pt -- .75 oz sundried tomato in olive oil
3 pt -- 30g chips
1 pt -- mozzerella stick
Snacks
1 pt -- grapes
1 pt -- 1/2 serving of rye crackers
1 pt -- 1 tablespoon hummus
Dinner
14 pt -- 2 cups pad thai with tofu
Total: 20 pt + 1 AP + 12 FP
What's frustrating to me is that I had already reached 19 points before dinner arrived, even though I thought I had planned pretty healthy choices -- high in fiber and protein and reasonable portions. I had the mozzerella stick and the crackers & hummus (which weren't in my original plan for the day) because I was HUNGRY.
Looking back, I didn't really NEED the 2nd cup of pad thai, so that's one place I can improve in the future, and I need to work in more 0 point veggies. (Here's a graemlins/bcbkick.gif to myself for feeling awkward when I'd finished the food I'd planned to eat and my friends were still eating. Next time I will also order veggies or a salad, so I have some low or zero point food in front of me.)
In my past times doing WW, I have felt deprived by being restricted to such a low point range. The only way I could bank anything on winning points was to earn at least 2 AP's every day. I'm reluctant to eat less cereal (if I do then I'm hungry mid-morning), or to give up the chips or sundried tomatoes. If I eat 25 points each day, then there's no flexibility for a dinner out.
I'm starting up an exercise program, which will give me more points to play with. I sure hope this gets easier as I go along.

Yum! I love Pad Thai. Now I will have to figure out how to work that into our dinner plans this week.
I noticed our weight goal is similar. I am 5'2". 130/127/115. If I can EVER get to 115, then I'll be wanting 110!
Have you had consistent wt loss with just the few to lose??
I am really struggling!!

I've just re-started WW and BCB -- today is my 2nd day OP. About 3 years ago I lost about 10 pounds in 2-3 months time following winning points in the 18-23 range and lurking on BCB. I got back down to my size 6 jeans and decided it wasn't worth the expense of losing another 5 pounds (to get to 110) as I would have to buy all new pants. I also was tired of feeling so restricted, and so stopped journalling, etc. I've since regained about 5-ish pounds (I've been swinging between 119 and 123 lately.)
What inspired me to come back to BCB was that my husband and I took a month-long trip to India. I love curry, but got tired of eating it every day. I found I was losing weight without trying because I would only eat enough not to be hungry, and we didn't have a handy stash of potato chips in the hotel room. I lost about 5 pounds on the trip and liked how it looked, then gained it right back after we came back home (and also ate at a lot of restaurants with the in-laws.)
I'm not sure if my goal is going to be 115 or 110 this time, but I'm also struggling to stay within 20 points.

HI:
As of this morning, I have 11 lbs to go till WW Goal; therefore, I am now going to post in this forum occassionaly.
I guess I am also part of this statistical group as well. I am 5'2 in my running shoes. I am currently 146 and working towards my first goal of 135. Then I will finally be in the healthy BMI category. My personal goal is 120-125. I think like everyone else, that once I reach those goals I will want to lose more. I also think the problem will be in knowing when to stop.
I am losing aproximately 1 lb/week. That is slower than I would like, but it's coming off and that is the point. (no pun intended).
I look forward to chatting with all of you in the future! graemlins/wave.gif

So much of this is a mental thing. I think it will help me to plan to use 3 FP each day (which is 21 for the week), and then have 14 FP left over for a high day or things like eating out. That way, instead of trying to fit an ordinary day into 20 points, I'll be fitting it into 23 points (or 25 whenever I earn a couple of AP's). I'm restarting my week today with this new plan, and I'll let you know how it works out.
