Are there any tall women out there that would like to post?

I'm 5'10" and I think I'd like to get to 149. What are other people's goals?

I'd like to feel really comfortable in a size 10/12 bottom. My top half already looks thin - I'm bottom heavy. I can fit in to small shirts but the waist is too high and the sleeves too short! Since I'm pushing 41 and have two children I'm not interested in anyone seeing skin between my waistband and my shirt.

I also have big feet (11 1/2) if anyone wants to talk about that!

Well, I only have size 9 1/2. (Never thought I'd say that, LOL). But I'll tell you what, it's an extremely difficult shoe size to find. For what ever reasons shoes run up to 9, they skip 9 1/2 than go to 10.

Fit: How funny! I am also 5'10", however I'm big on the top and smaller on the bottom. Sounds like we are exact opposites. I'm at 169 right now and am wearing an 8-10 on the bottom; however, my tops are anywhere from a 14-18 depending on how they're made. Makes buying dresses and suits pretty frustrating!! My ultimate goal is to get to 160, I guess I'll see when I get there if I want to adjust it, but I don't think I will.

Lisa: I wear a 9 1/2 as well but usually don't run into a problem finding the half size -- thank goodness! I have a serious shoe "problem"

Hi everyone,
I guess I'm the "shorty" of the group, measuring in at a tad over 5'8", but I also wear a size 9 1/2 shoe.
I have this shoe warehouse (DSW) nearby and have no problem finding a 9 1/2 (I too LOVE shoes :D )
I currently am a "comfortable" size 12 on the bottom and a med-to-large on top. My problem is that I have been "blessed" (overly  ) with a chest. I just wish some of the weight would come off there!
I really think that we have the advantage of our height when it comes to body look. When I'm at 150, most of the public would guess me at around 130 or so (at 150 I'm a size 8-10).
So....I guess I'm glad I got some of the height gene from mom :D
Dee

PS: Fit...Was at DSW tonight (I notice you're from Boston, I think they are around you too) and they had loads of shoes up to size 11. I bought a really cute pair of sandals graemlins/crazy.gif

I'm starting to think that it's just NW indiana that has a issue with carrying 9 1/2! :(

And I, too, have a shoe thing, lol

Lisa: You're close enough to Cleveland -- c'mon over girl and we'll do some shopping!! LOL

Dee: I agree with you on height being to our advantage. I used to HATE being tall!! I'm hearing ya on the chest thing too - so frustrating! I am just now finally starting to lose a little there and have managed to drop a bra size -- WAHOO!!!

BTW - I hope you guys don't mind me posting in the Few to Lose Forum. Saw the subject and couldn't help myself graemlins/crazy.gif

Ok, all of you with the chest problem.....I am really trying to feel sorry for you, but it is just not happening:).....lol. The little bit of a chest I used to have has melted away with my weight loss, and padded bras have became new friends of mine..lol.

As far as the tall issue goes, I am right about at 5'8. I think when 160 is a realistic goal for you. I am currently at that weight, but I think I am more middle heavy:) After 2 kids, my waistline just doesn't seem to want to catch up to the rest of me:)

I'm trying to feel sorry for you guys that have chest problems as well and it's not working for me either!!!! I've never had a big chest (my sister got it all!!!) and I don't think I ever will. It sucks b/c my stomach looks out of proportion to my chest. Makes my stomach look bigger b/c I have no chest (if that makes sense). Im about 5' 8'' as well and I wear a size 10 shoe. Im currently in a size 10 pants and want so badly to get to a size 8. However, I gain weight and muscle very easily in my legs and butt, so it's gonna take some work! My waist isnt going anywhere either!!!

I can't sympathize with the big chests either, I think I lost half of my 26 pounds off of my upper half. I wish it would have come from my upper thighs. I too am 5'8", I have worked down to a medium in tops and wearing between an 8 and a 10 on bottom. I wear an 10.5 or 11 shoe, it just isn't fair what some cute shoes look like when they get to that size. I find I can find my size in PayLess and some other shoe stores, it is hard to find them in department stores.

I do think we taller girls have an advantage as far as how we carry our weight, I have too have had comments from people who can't believe how much I weigh. I guess that is good, but then I see the pictures of my rear end from a few months back. Not a pretty picture, LOL.

Fit at forty one, I am not sure about your goal, I am getting pretty close to mine and feel pretty good about where it set it. Maybe if you are lucky, your feet will get a little smaller.

Lisa: Whenever you're ready -- you just let me know!! I've had my eye on three different pairs of sandals OY!!!!

And if I could figure out a way to "share" with all of you with the "unchest" problem (lol) I would be ever so happy to do so!! Funny how the grass is always greener huh?

Have a good day ladies!

Ladies,

I don't usually post here, but saw this topic and had to chime in. I am 5'9" and wear a size 10 shoe, and have no boobs. My younger sister is 5'11", wears a size 11 shoe and got all the boobs! LOL!

I agree about taller people carying their weight better because people are so shocked when they find out how much I weigh. But I also believe that the clothing industry has just figured out that tall people can have weight problems. For many years I could not find Tall Pants that were a size 20. Drove me nuts! I can find them now in catalogs, but can never go shop off the rack.

Now with WW I am looking forward to finding nice slacks in a size 12 or 14! My PG is 145-150 but I will be happy to just see the size 14, even if I weigh 160.

This was a great thread to read! Thanks for posting!

Well, I do have more than a few to lose but I saw the topic and had to post. I am 5'10 and have always had a problem finding stylish pants that were long enough even when I was younger and smaller. Thank goodness for capri pants!
Also I wore a size 9 or 9 1/2 shoe before my pregnancy and afterwards I wear a size 11 and cannot ever find shoes that I like in that size. I have found Clark's brand shoes in 11 that are comfortable and stylish but most of the time no luck and for dress shoes I can never find any that fit and don't make me look like I wear a size 16 shoe. Anyway nice to know I'm not alone.
