HOPE I'M IN THE RIGHT PLACE HERE. AS A SENIOR LIFETIME MEMBER, I WAS TOLD THIS IS THE AREA TO VISIT FOR HELP AND MOTIVATION TO STAY ON TRACK. AS I'M SURE IT IS WITH MOST SENIORS, MANY CHANGES HAVE TAKEN PLACE, AND WITH THESE CHANGES, MOTIVATION SEEMS TO HAVE TAKEN A BACK-SEAT. I'M STILL TRYING, AND EVEN WHEN I SLIP, I TRY AGAIN. WHAT MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR ME NOW, TOO, IS THAT I'VE HAD TO LEAVE ALL MY WW INFO BEHIND, BUT AM FINDING THESE POSTINGS HELPFUL. THANKS.

This is not really a reply. It's more of an explanation. As you all can see, I'm not sure as to how to use this site, but will do my best. Perhaps I should include more info about myself. I'm not so fit, and I'm sure not too sexy, and I'm 60++. I'm in a new place, and a very new-to-me type of life. I'm still finding my way around here, but am limited by the transportation offered here as far as going anywhere. However, I'm getting used to it all, but now find that although I want to look and feel right, my motivation, as i've said is waning. I stay home too much of the time which doesn't help. I found this site by chance and am grateful to all the people who have posted messages of encouragement. I've filled in with some of the info on the site, and am now buying and cooking food using the information I already have, and that is helping. I've been a lifetime member of
WW since the 1970's, and have been on and off the wagon many times. Is it alright if I just keep reading about all of your experiences and advice until I become more knowledgeable about using this posting site properly? Thanks

Hi, Tropics, and welcome! You're in the right place. I, too, am a lifetime member from the '70s, although this time I realize that it's a lifestyle, not a diet, and I think I'll do a lot better at maintaining. However, the weight is coming off sloooowly this time, and I've been plateaued for awhile, so it'll be awhile before I need to worry about maintaining.

Keep posting! We're glad to have you here!

Cathy

Welcome Tropics: You are indeed in the right place. I am not a motivational speaker (or writer) but I do get my motivation from this site, just by "lurking" and reading. I am a senior and also in a new location like you  . I have been a lifetimer since last September and feel that I am doing excellent because I have adopted new habits which have become second nature. I never gourge on sweets any more or over eat at dinner. I think it just takes practise. I used to eat constantly from supper time to bedtime but, I've even cut that back to one small snack about 9 o'clock (Just befor seniors bedtime) I would suggest working on one problem at a time until it becomes a natural way for you. Good luck ;)

Hi Everyone,
I'm new at BCB also, and I can identify with losing my motivation, I keep plugging away at it.
I've been a member of WW since 2/1/2003 and lost 29 lbs. I am maintaing but can't seem to get past that 29. I start the day with all good intentions, somewhere along the way I get off track.
My daughter who has lost 52 lbs. since Feburary recommended BCB, so here i am.
