Dear Committed Challengers:

Please post your results for WEEK #9 (7/27 - 8/2)by Saturday, August 2.

Two reminders:

1. A Challenge is a COMMITMENT
2. A Challenge is positive action toward a positive goal

This "Fantastic Week #9," we will:

1. Take 10 minutes on Sunday to plan our week's OP meals. If dinners out are involved, we must plan for these too
2. If we are faced with emotional eating, we need to: a) wait 10 minutes, and b)write down our feelings
3. Think of exercise as positive action
4. Keep in mind, at all times, our desired goal. We attract what we think about all day long
5. Have a piece of gum in between meals. It's good exercise for the jaws and dental hygiene. It also burns 12 calories per hour.

Challengers, we have 5 weeks left! We must stay on course During "Fantastic Week #9." Winners never quit. We are winners.
Let's Do It, Challengers. Yes, We Can.

Weighed in today and was 3 pounds lighter. Still struggling with drug doses and non functioning kidneys. Just have to look what is at the end of the tunnel.

Hi Everyone...I would like to join your Labor Day Challange. I am part of another group, but need more motivation. I pledge 1 lb a week. If there are 4 weeks left, that is 4-5 for me to pledge. Will report my WI on Thursday.

I'm down 2 more pounds and have met my Labor Day goal of 10 pound loss. I've had a very rough month with surgery and another hospitalization for a kidney infection this week. My new goal is to remain at this weight until Labor Day.

One pound down! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! (This after a 4 MONTH plateau).

That said, I have to make a remark about chewing gum. I think we should be careful about how often we stick gum in our mouths to distract us from hunger pains (I AM gum chewer, and I know this helps me not eat, but I only chew for about 5 minutes). If you have bad knees or elbows (or any joint), imagine sitting at your desk and just bending it back and forth until you've done it 1000 times? If you don't have bad joints and you did this, you would soon. The same is true for your jaws! When you chew gum, you are working those jaw muscles constantly - almost 1000 times in 15 minutes. If you can, do a couple of sit-ups or something instead. (Could I even do one sit-up? Hmmm.) Hope this thought is not too much of a bummer!

Hope everyone has an OP day!

Saturday again, and the scale was kind to me..
I lost 2.25 pounds. Wow, I know this amount of loss will not continue, even eating the same amount of points and exercise will have to be upped. But I am not going to complain now!
