Good Morning Good Buddies,

Notice the little difference in my greeting, yep, I lost weight this week. And it was not hard, just a little different twist put ito my eating and exercise. I want to keep this up for me. You rememmber how it started, with the phone call from a high school classmate coming back to Iowa to visit. If I can keep the ball rolling after she leaves I have won a victory for me....
Question: Why is it I will watch my calories and exercise, when I am going to meet someone I knew but has nothing to do with my life???? Or my health?? MMMmmmmmmmmmmm! Much like wearing perfume to a ladies meeting/luncheon... do they care??? nope, do they care that you look great or how wonderful you smell?? nope...It is wasted effort. Why does it take vanity not common sense logic to keep one self in good health? This is not just me as I have heard this same recital from many many others, wonder why we do this?
Enough.... it is grey today and looks like a storm is arriving. We have windows out and not really ready to be put back!!!!!!! Ouch...
Today is the lunch at fellow ex-employees with snacks and beverages... Lucky for me I will be there only an hour... Memorial to Korean Vets at our local museum... at 2pm.
Hope your day goes well and being on program is easier than yesterday.

Morning all. I know what you mean about "outside motivation". We always say that the way to improve the economy is to have someone you have not seen for 5 years to come to visit.... you redo your whole house, lose weight, buy lots of different foods, get your hair done...etc. Silly but true!

I had a successful day working on Dad's estate yesterday. There is more to administrating an estate that I knew... phew. I am about to learn much! Our son and family are going up to stay with step-mom (Isabel) tonight. They are going to try to help her salvage her garden. It may be beyond help.

We are eating a quick breakfast and heading out to the river trail again. Really enjoying walking.. then will spend a few hours with Aunt Lou (bless her heart). OUr best buddies are going with us to a nearby town that has a mall. There is a big sale at Christopher & Banks which is my favorite place. I love the sweaters and the clothes there fit me well. We will also go out to eat someplace different. They are "watching it" too so we should be OK.

Will check back later to see what is happening with everyone.

Not too much going on here today...will be a lazy day..Danny left before 8 for the Chattanooga trip..so I guess it will be a relaxing day at the pool for me http://www.funnygreetings.com/smileface99.gif ..hoping Scotty and Jacob will hit the trail too!....time for me is what I need today....do you sometimes feel like you need to be all by yourself?, or am I being selfish?..I don't think so...
It is already sticky hot, no rain in site for a few days....summer will be gone before long http://www.funnygreetings.com/smileypage3/teeter_md_wht.gif ..I thought it just got here...had a short one this year with all the rain we have had..I wonder if that means snow for the winter, it usually does for us....funny how weather patterns change...
Well, got to get done and get outside, I have enough to do to keep me busy for a while...have fixed a nice big bowl of salad and washed some chicken breast for later on...should be a POP day for me...

http://www.mouse.webby.com/images/msflsb.jpg Hi everybuddy! It is a gorgeous day here on the West coast of Canada...sunny and promises to be hot! YAY! We have to take advantage of every day as we will be into fall and rain before we know it! graemlins/sobbing.gif I have done my walk (at 6:30), had my breakfast and have a load of laundry in...time to turn Mike's mattress over. This is recycling day so that must be done when I am through here. Went to town and stocked up on fruit and veggies, bought a new Walkman as my old one bit the dust. I have to have my music when I walk and as it is early, before the ferry traffic starts, there is no danger. This morning the music was country ("Lookin for love in all the wrong places")etc. Mike has gone to work for his 1/2 day although this is postal audit weekend....once a month he has to count all the stamps, etc and submit his report. Our postal rates are going up in October (1 cent more for canada) so he had to order 2,000 1 cent stamps...after an increase there are lots of requests for those for people to use the old stamps up. Rates to US are going from .65 to .80 I believe..Yikes! Saw my DDand DGC briefly yesterday as I had some rhubarb from my garden for them.....They are coming for 5 days next week as Daddy is going fishing with a buddy so mommy and the kids are coming to stay with grandma and grandpa! My nearly 8 yr. old grandson is very excited...he loves it here and wants to live with me! Visiting is fine, but, no thanks, I don't want a permanent 8 yr. old....been there, done that!
Chari, WTG on the loss! I am trying hard to get the "lifestyle" image imprinted on my poor old brain!
LJ, so good to see you posting again. We missed you! It will be different for you going back to school and Charley staying home...he can do the cooking! LOL
Norma, NO! you are not being selfish needing "me" time. It is as necessary as anything else and puts you in a better frame of mind to tackle LIFE.......I am very fortunate to have lots of "me" time....I probably am on my own TOO much!
