Good morning! Nothing like typing that date to remind you how fast time is flying. I just can't believe that we are coming up on the last week in July. Ryann starts school in 2 1/2 weeks! Short summer, huh?
It was good to get up and see that MK had posted this morning. We will keep praying for you, dear.
I don't have any big plans today. I didn't finish my ironing yesterday, so that is on the list. It is date night and I hope to go see Bad Boys after dinner. The critics hated it which means I will probably love it! Tomorrow night Ann and Shane have a wedding to attend, so we will have the kids. Maybe we will go play putt-putt.
Have a great day, everybuddy.
Love,

Good Morning Buddies graemlins/wave.gif
I started having a sore throat yesterday afternoon and it has not gone away, I am a bit headachey and I feel a bit feverish. :( I will take it easy today and hope for the best.
I have been trying to find a book to read that captures my attention and had not been having much luck. I brought home a few from the library and never read them, then brought home a few more and hadn't read them either. I started on one and it was interesting but not captivating. I was thinking to take them back and try some more since they are due on the first of August. Last night I picked up one of them and started reading and I did not want to put it down, it is really good!! The title is "By Blood Posessed" and it is a mystery involving the present day as well as the civil war era. So today I will be lounging about reading until my eyes are burning!! tongue.gif
I did clean my tub and shower this morning as well as made the beds so I can rest assured that I did do something productive today. I don't like a day to go by without accomplishing much of anything. Yesterday I picked up five frames for the projects I am working on. I have three Thomas Kincaid puzzles that I am gluing together and framing for where my piano used to be. The junior girls softball team made some artwork for DH and I am going to frame them for him as a surprise. This is the first year that the girls have made him something like this and he was just tickled. He has been coaching for 19 years now and is thinking of being an umpire for next year instead of coaching. I also thought I could frame up some of the team photos from over the years and one of the commendations from the mayor thanking him for his service. Then I could have one wall in the computer-TV room just for softball memorabilia.
Carla, yes, where does the time go? Let me know what you think of the movie. I have not seen as many lately since there is not much playing that I have been interested in. I absolutely love to play putt-putt but only my grandson likes to play with me.
Have a great day everybuddy graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good Morning ALL;
Going to be HOT today!! Whew! Exercise class and back to the house stuff, note, I can not use the word CLEAN.... "Helpful House Person" where are you, do not hide, cause I WILL FIND YOU!!!!!!!!!
Carla: I don't know for sure if these are the books you read, or I picked up the titles from you and others.... But I put my name on the reserve list at the library for: The Life or Pi, The Secret Life of Bees, and Dogs of Babel.
They must be good as the reserve lists on each are long....Mmmmm Date night??? I like that, it makes life so interesting and FUN! Wonderful..
We want to go see the movie "Sea Biscuit", I kinda remember this horse mentioned when I was a child.
I will be weighing in on Sat am... Oh, I worked this week, but the scale is my judge of last weeks' work. And I do need a judge, montior, warden, whatever you want to call it.. Maybe this is not the attitude you have but it works for me.
DH is still working on refurbishing the windows, big, big job. I called my favorite realtor and she said to refurbish, do not spend any money on replacement as we would not get it back, the new people may not appreciate your choice anyway. So they are stable to begin with and now will look good too. Whew, thought we were going to have to spend alot of money on a house we may want to sell in a few years....
As I posted earlier, lunch at girl friend's tomorrow... everyone brings snacks and beverage. I worked with these gals years ago and now we want to see each other again, nice.. But I want to leave within a hour so I can be with DH at the Korean Forgotten War Memorial at our local Musemum. DH donated some photos and several things... He may want to stay for the reading of the Iowa people lost in this war... and then again he may not want to relive and bring up any of those memories...we will see.
Weekend coming up and we will see what will be ahead.
Have a great OP day.

http://www.mainwebpage.com/samples/fairy/afairyleft.gif Hi everyone!.....just needed to check in and see how everybody was this morning..I am just plain worn out from all that has been going on.... Happy to see MK posting..she is one strong woman!
My friend came through his surgery very well, thank goodness..now he has one more surgery to go to get the last aneursym....he had a total of 4 all in his head..this one was the bad boy of them all since it was located behind the eye....so happy things went well.
I had a rather pleasant afternoon last night, stayed up late and watched a movie, guess that's why I am tired this morning....
Still haven't got the washing machine fixed..I am really tired of carting clothes up and down the yards in a little red wagon!
Jacob is so much better today, he has no fever and got up hungry this morning...he hasn't been eating enough to keep a bird alive this past week...cleaned his breakfast up though.
School will be starting here on August 6...he is excited, mostly because he doesn't have any shots to get this year! I will be better too I think with some time to have by myself while he is in school..can concentrate more on me!
Well, have a great day ladies and try to stay ON THE WAGON!...I am trying not to fall off!...not doing too well I am afraid, but I am not giving up...
Shiela..will be getting a helmet before long, I do love to ride a bike also...did you see Jacob's pic in my vacation pics with his do rag?..he told me yesterday that his Papa looked good going down the road on his motorcycle...that kid is a mess!...he needs a helmet too....
Tootle loo ladies.... http://www.mainwebpage.com/samples/fairy/afairyright.gif

Good morning buddies! graemlins/wave.gif Still busy here. Kathleen and I went to our WW meeting last night since we'll be taking her to music camp on Saturday, which is the day of our normal meeting. She has already lost 4.2 lbs towards the 10 she gained on vacation. I just hope that going to camp doesn't throw her off again. She says the food is horrible, but I'm also sure it's full of starch with no fresh fruits (she said all they have is canned peaches) or vegetables. I've sent her a care package and had trouble with what to send her to eat, lol. Last year it was candy bars and chips, this year it was lo-fat Wheat Thins and pouches of tuna. graemlins/crazy.gif

Good morning buddies! Not much happening here today, will take a run to pick up fresh fruit and veggies for the weekend.
My goodness, all this talk about children returning to school already! Did summer not just begin????
Last evening my youngest DD asked if I could type up another batch of journals for her. I do personalized journals for the girls with the dates filled in, quotes, barbs, etc. (Whatever it takes to help them stay motivated) lol. But filling in dates into September sure was depressing!
House is nice and clean this morning. I pay the same daughter to come in once every two weeks to do my housework for me as I am not able to do my own. It works out better than hiring a stranger as I can ask DD to do some things I would not ask of another person.
I get tired just watching her. She comes in the evening after working a full day (her daytime job is Legal Assistant), then she brings her laundry, and between doing her laundry, she tackles my house from top to bottom. Whew. I said this must be a good work out for her, and she replied it was a walk in the park compared to the routine she follows at the gymn! My goodness, to be young, healthy and in good shape.
To all buddies that are hurting and suffering, please take care.

Good Afternoon EveryBuddy, graemlins/wave.gif
Well I've been up and at 'em again this day. Washed my comforter and accessories this AM before WW. Went to WI no loss. But I'll take it, because if you noted I stated I was down in the gutter on Tues., came back and stayed the same. Have a hair appointment today at 4pm will again ask her to cut it shorter. Eventually she'll get the hint. Why can't she just do as I like, I ask. She answers because you look better with hair. I have extremely large shoulders, take after my Dad.
CarlaK "date night" how  . I guess I could same the same for Bill and I, dinner and then hopefully dancing or at least go somewhere and listen to live music. I've always enjoyed that. What with getting my hair done and everything, I will "feel pretty." LOL
Dee sorry you don't feel up to snuff today. At least you did accomplish a couple of things. Thomas Kincaid is one of my favorites. I bet the puzzles will look great. Sounds like a wonderful idea for your hubby. Take care girlfriend, I won't have time to read today. But lounging around and reading is one of my favorite activities. (I read anything and everything.) Have a great OP day. smile.gif
chari today in my WW class the leader talked about "trying." We try to do this and try to do that when in reality we should just do it. Please don't take this wrong because I know you have but to say "try" sometimes diminishes just "doing it." Does that make sense  Personally I think your doing great, just wanted to pass that tibdit along. Have a great time today. Luncheon with your ex-coworkers sounds like fun, we all get together once a month. What a boisterous group we are, laughing, eating and just having a fun time.
Kathy sounds like your having a "date night" as well. Congratulations on the new AuntHood lol new babies are always cool. Have a good "date" with Richard. What kind of cards do you play? I like Uno. Nothing too difficult. We play that a lot when we have company, something to do and its fun.
Norma so happy you are continuing to post and continuing to stay on our Journey. Yes, summer is almost over for out "little friends." What grade is Jacob going into. I use to love school when I was young. It meant I could stop working and just go to school. Coming from a large family, me being the oldest girl I always had lots of chores. Your right though it will give you a little time to yourself. And we all need that girlfriend. Have a great day.
Well, gang housekeepers never showed up yesterday so I am straightening up as I go along. Have the bathrooms to do and run the vacumn on the area rug in the living room and I'm calling it a day.
So with that I will bid you all adieu and get busy. graemlins/thumbup.gif
Hello to all my Buddy's out there, hope I haven't missed anyone and to those of you who come on after me have a great op friday.
Luanne and Emmy you guys snuck in on this novel I was writing. Send your daughter this way Emmy, good help is hard to come by. Luanne don't worry too much, she gained 10 lbs., so she knows now how hard that is to get rid of.
Later Losers,

Good afternoon, buddies!
I'm running late today.
Made a deal on a car today, will pick it up next week. Kinda picked over at this time of year, but such rebates (at least for July)! Car is a white Sunfire. White is not my first choice of color, but the silver one that was comparably-but-slightly-better-equipped was more expensive, and my color preference would have been red or blue, so we settled for the white. Oddly, they had a 2002 available still, but with the rebates on the 2003s, the '02 was more expensive than the '03s. Huh? The car I'm getting has some options I wouldn't have chosen, but will probably like, like a moon roof. We will pick it up Wednesday night.
Dunno if I'll post tomorrow, as we have a lunch date 2 hours from here tomorrow so will need to leave about 9:30. We meet friends from Rolla, MO about once a year at a winery/restaurant in Hermann, MO (little winery town). Good food with a German influence, although there are other items on the menu. Not sure what they have that's OP, as the last time we were there was pre-WW and we had schnitzel, which I don't think is very dietary.
Carla, boy, school starts early there! I don't think it starts until the day after Labor Day here. There is or was a MO state law that required schools to get special permission to start before Labor Day. Have fun on Date Night!
Dee, hope you're feeling better. I liked "By Blood Possessed," too. I think there's a second in that series, but I haven't read it. I like Kincaid, too. I have one of his limited edition prints hanging in my study/computer room.
Chari, you've done great this week at staying OP! Good for you! Lunch with friends is always fun. Korea really has been the forgotten war. One of my uncles died in Korea. The government is apparently doing something in DC (finally) about Korea, because a couple of years ago the Veterans Service Officer from my hometown asked for pictures and info on my uncle.
Kathy, having a family website is neat! Sounds like you're having a Date Night tonight, too!
Norma, sorry you're tired, but glad Jacob is better at least; I know you must worry when he's sick. And your school is starting really early, too!
Luanne, glad Kathleen has made good progress on taking off her vacation weight. Camp could be a challenge, but I guess it won't hurt her to learn early to deal with challenges, as they'll continue to come up. (Don't I know it!)
Emmy, how nice that you have a daughter who can do your cleaning for you!
Katy, glad you didn't gain. Hope you get the haircut you want. My main criterion for hairdos is "low-maintenance."
Jeanette, sending love and light to Karen and you.
Have a great evening and a great weekend, buddies! graemlins/wave.gif

I know it is really late... almost Saturday... but I did not want to miss posting.
We were at Dad's today. Got much work done on his estate. Still much to do.
Thinking of you all. Just not much time. I am trying.....
Peace and Blessings.
