Good Morning all you cyber-buddies graemlins/wave.gif
I woke up too early this morning and now I am ready for a nap graemlins/sleep.gif More showers and thunderstorms are set for our area today and tomorrow, etc. It seems like a good day to stay in bed and sleep!
I have a few errands I must do today. DD#1 returned last evening from visiting DD#3, so I am officially relieved of watching after the older two grandchildren. *sigh* what a relief it is!!! I am so glad she is home safely and she had a very nice time so she should be ready to get back in the swing of things now.
It does not seem like we have had much of a summer so far with the kind of weather we have had. It just has not seemed as hot as I would expect for summer. I am not complaining, just an observation.
Not too much going on in "my little corner of the world" so sayonara for now and have an OP kind of day graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good morning. I am going to get off here in just a minute and do my WATP tape. I bought the 2 mile one and I did the whole thing yesterday (minus the weights) and I loved it. Can't wait to do it again.
The dish satellite people finally came last night to fix the one TV that wasn't getting a signal. I called last Sat. and have been waiting since then to hear from them. They came at 7:30 last night and the one guy had a little tiff with Tom. He must have thought he deserved some pats on the back for coming out so late. Well, Tom felt since I had been home waiting for 2 days that it was the least the guy could do. I wish you could have seen the attitude he developed. Sullen and downright rude. And he was the owner (or so he said). We laughed about it afterward. What a way to take care of your customers. Good thing he had another guy with him who did the work, explained things to us and was pleasant. Yipes!
Dee, we are having alot of storms too. I have felt cheated this summer. The kids start school August 12th and it seems we haven't even had a week of good summer weather. I guess I should be glad that we aren't sweltering, but please turn off the faucets!! I think you should take a nap for sure. I put very dark curtains in my room and I have been sleeping late (for me) every morning! I love it. Have a good, relaxing day.
I will check in later and see what you are all up to. Diana, I read your post and am very glad to see you back. I have "been there, done that". We just have to stop the madness! ;)
Love and prayers,
Carla

Hello everyone. Thank you for the kind emails and even cards. You are dear.
It has been one heck of a summer… actually for many of us at BCB not just me. First of all I am thinking of Karen as she is struggling to get back to us and of Jeanette… it is also very hard to watch someone you love being so ill. And my sympathy to Katy on the death of her sister. And congratulations on weight loss and new babies and all the things that I have missed.
My summer began as Aunt Lou fell and broke her hip. We are unsure if the medications for pain caused her to totally lose it or if she has had another little stroke? She has been a major handful. She has always had lots of personality… but this new one is pretty crazy! She beat holes in the wall of her room with her “grabber” stick. She screams, yells, hits… I have had the staff at the “jail” aka nursing home on all the prayer lists… bless their hearts! They do not get paid enough! She discovered that she could call us and we sometimes got 25 or more calls a day. We disconnected the phone. Even if we are there 8 hours a day she is still frantic. It breaks my heart to see her so agitated. She has been unable to be out of bed because of poor bones and the possibility that the break would re-fracture. Today we went back to see the orthopedist in Virginia and we got the all clear and will be able to put her back in a wheel chair. I am just hopeful that will help. During this month she also began loosing blood from the bowels. We think that it is related to medicine but she is in no condition to have tests. She was seriously ill for a time and was even in intensive care.
Dad died on July 14. I had been there off and on for much of the summer. I was there everyday some. He was so sick. We did have lots of time together. We talked about his death and everything in the world. I have no regrets about anything about that relationship or time with him and I know he did not either. It was actually a quite beautiful thing. I also appreciate very much living in a small community and having so much love and support both for Dad and for the whole family.
And… Charley’s brother-in-law, 50 years old! Just died on Sunday. Charley is in Indiana now. I could not go because I have to care for Lucille and my step- mother. (Step- mother is from Spain, educated in North Africa and we have some complicated paper work to do and she reads English but does not write… not even simple bills! Really complicated.. And Dad’s estate has several complications we have to help her to settle)
Jessie did bring her anesthesia class to our house this weekend. 30 of them! We floated them all down the Greenbrier and I had my first fun day of the summer. She is doing well in school and loves it. Her class has people from everywhere… even one from Japan. Interesting group of kids. So far the entire anesthesia they know is how to pass a beer! I loved having them.
I have not really even been on the computer this summer. I started reading last night and read through many of the messages for the past weeks so I could get back up to speed.
Please help me get back on track and I will try to be a more faithful BCB!
Peace and Blessings. L.J.

Good Morning,
Sunny and cool!!!!!! What a nice change.
We went out to dinner with friends and afterward we went to a 4-H Fair!!! Can you just picture me walking in the animal barns, well, I like it!!
They have horses and sponsor some 4-H kids every year. Very intersting and I fell in love with the lamas!!!! They are beautiful, soft tempered, and so smart... we watched they go thru obstacle courses, my my...
Nothing going on today except my exercise class, and 'my room' today is the living room... That will not take too long, HA!!! As we have an entire wall in wall/glass units and all the stuff needs dusting and the glass cleaned. If I only had the dusting and vaccuming of sofa/chairs and floor not too bad, but the units are pretty... but take alot of work. I have learned to take one room at a time, after that large rec room, it was too much for my time of life, in fact, it took some off of my life, ha ha ha ha... I wonder tho.
Good news is for the first time in a long time I banked exercise points... I ate 27 points yesterday and walked 2 points...So today staying at 27 points(or maybe a little lower) I will have some extra points for the luncheon on Thursday... That is really great for me....
Hope everyone has a great day...

Good Morning EveryBuddy, graemlins/wave.gif
Well I got off to a rip roaring morning. Stripped the bed got that going including the mattress pad. Will have to wait until Bill comes home to turn the mattress. Exercised for 45 minutes and then ate breakfast. Put pad in dryer and now drying another load. And I feel good. ;) I have decided that I will go to Albertsons and pick up a rotsierre (sp) chicken for dinner along with more veggies (were out). Bill does not like cooked cauliflower but he ate it last evening along with carrots. He said it was OK. Oh well.
LJ first of all I am so happy to see you posting. And your right it has been one He***** summer. At least you got to float a little. Bet that was nice. You know what they say "when it rains it pours." But we are strong and healthy and he never gives us more than we can handle. How disheartening to hear about Aunt Lou. I'm sorry to hear that. I pray to God to give you strength to continue. I always thought you had a beautiful attitude. Yes, and please do keep posting.
Dee it seems like it has rained every day since I came back from CA. But it stops and I do outside things. That's the way FL is. I haven't read your post, but I would like to congratulate you on the loss. Our journey is not for sissy's. graemlins/thumbup.gif
Carla the same thing happened to me with the air conditioning man. He was so rude, I reported him to Sears and they backed him up. To this day you cannot convince me that he wasn't acting out of prejudice. But so be it. I saw your post of last night. That's the way I like to shop "spur of the moment." You and Tom should dress up and put it in your picturetrail. Sounds like fun. Heck go out dinner and dancing. I haven't had a fun date like that with Bill for awhile. It's time. ;)
chari walking around looking at animals sounds like fun. I use to be a 4-H'er when I lived in the country with my godparents. Sounds like you got the plan going on. Have fun. Have you given anymore thought to housekeepers?
I haven't seen any posts from MK lately. I hope she's doing OK.
Well the buzzer just went off, so I gotta go put some more clothes in the dryer. Take a shower and start running to the stores. Bill is taking me out for dinner Friday, maybe I can convince him to take me dancing afterwards. Need to work off those points. Thanks for the indirect idea Carla.
Later Losers,

So happy you had some time to do a little floating..it sounds awesome to me..
CHARI..wow you walking around with the animals..did you come up with any good ideas for a story?? that would be even better then a zoo I would think..when I was a kid in 4-H, I won a blue ribbon for my chocolate cake!!
KATY..doesn't it feel good to get up in the morning and get movin like that..I just love it when I can start my day like that..I always feel so much better the rest of the day..You go GIRL!!

Hello Everybuddy..all of you sound chipper this morning...good for you!...I don't feel too up today, but won't bore you with the details...just not having a good day...
The weather is holding at hot and humid here ..not much different...too much rain...as someone said..we haven't had much of a summer either...almost time for school to start and I don't know where the times goes..
I feel like just giving up on my goal, you know, I don't have my heart in it for some reason.I don't think that I have gained but just tired of worrying about every bite that goes in my mouth...I feel like just eating everything in site!...God, I hate to feel like this. I look around and so many others have problems facing them that are unbearable and I am acting like no one has problems but me....why do we do this to ourselves?..
Well, buddies hope everybuddy has a great OP day and I will be checking in and posting less until my attitude changes to the better...

Good morning buddies. My goodness what an energetic bunch this morning!
Last evening must have been the evening for all the rude people to be out. DH and I went out for dinner last evening. We live in the country so it was a small town type of restaurant who advertized itself as a "steakhouse".
DH ordered a steak and I cautioned him on how it may be prepared. He quizzed the waitress who assured him that yes it would be char-broiled. This steak comes, and while the waitress is standing there DH takes a bit only to find out it was fried!!! Naturally he sent it back, the cook said he would still have to pay for 1/2 of the meal!!!
DH refused, the waitress totally supported us, etc. etc. Long story short, the waitress took DH meal off of the bill, and told her boss that he was now minus a waitress. She could not believe he would treat customer's like that!! (Neither could we)
Hope everyone has a good day, and Norma please hang in there.

http://angelwinks.net/images/animatedpod/animatedpod1058.gif Good Morning, gang! It feels good to be back and participate in the most wonderful group in cyberland! We had a busy, hot day yesterday. My youngest daughter and I took the grandkids to a nearby town- about 1/2 hour drive - it has a big country market, shops, touristy type shops like Tshirts, jewellry and some rides for the kids. The DGC (7 1/2 and 3 1/2) went on a little train, small roller coaster, bumper cars, merry go round and had a grand time. It was very hot, in the 90's, so we went early before the rush but it was nuts by the time we left. Got some local cherries, beans etc and other "greens" so I am stocked for the week. By the time I took the family home, caught my ferry it was 6 pm and I was a little sunburnt and hot. But I went for a long walk, had my dinner, and fell into bed after a refreshing shower. Slept like a log, too! I am up and at 'em today, determined to stay OP. Tomorrow is another workday so today will be just house "stuff" like laundry etc. It will be very warm again but the downstairs of the house is lovely and cool. All of you sound chipper this morning. Very happy to hear Karen is better and LJ, so glad to see you posting........we have missed you very much! Dee, congrats on the 2 lb. loss, you have shaken things up.....keep up the good work! Everyone else have a good OP day........BTW- just caught Beth on IM and she was just leaving to go to her Mama! Prayers for her and mom, Karen, MK (hope you are ok!) and everyone else needing uplifting. Love you all! smile.gif

Good afternoon, buddies!
I'm continuing to have a busy week at work, but am on my lunch break now. Last work day this week, probably more car-shopping coming up tomorrow and/or Friday. We're having nice weather this week; right now, the WeatherBug on my PC says local temp is 78.
Dee, it does sound like a good day for a nap! Hope you've gotten one in.
Carla, sorry you had to deal with the rude repair person. One wonders what ever happened to customer service -- seems like rudeness is so often the case anymore.
LJ, glad to see you posting, but I'm so sorry you're having such a rough summer. Do be kind to yourself! I'm so sorry about the loss of your father and Charley's brother-in-law, and the problems you've been having with Aunt. You are so right about the advantages of a small community -- I grew up in one, and there is nothing in the world like the way people in small towns pull together and care for one another.
Chari, good for you for banking those points! I remember 4-H -- I liked the cooking part, but I still have a mental block against sewing from my 4-H days! We lived in town, so I didn't ever do the animal part of 4-H, although some of my rural friends did.
Katy, you sound really energized today. Good for you! (And send some of that energy my way, wouldja?)
Kathy, I can't believe everything you've done, and that's been done, to your house this year. It's like a whole new house, without moving!
Norma, sorry you're having a bad day. It happens, unfortunately. But eating isn't going to help. Sometimes I resent that I'm going to have to pay attention to what I eat and what I weigh for the rest of my life, but the alternative means potential health problems (in my gene pool, the biggie is diabetes). Hang in there, buddy!
Emmy, sorry you had such a stressful dinner. I can't imagine that they'll stay in business long with customer service like that!
Diana, sounds like a fun, but tiring, day yesterday.
Hi and hugs to all the rest of my buddies! graemlins/wave.gif
