Hi buddies,

I recommitted to BCB and ww at the end of June, but I had been doing it at home and not officially. According to the home scale, I am down 5-6 pounds since I began. Today, I went to weigh in officially and the difference between the two numbers was disheartening. The ww scales were 7lbs more than the ones at home. Of course, at home I weigh first thing in the morning with little to no clothes... BUT....
So, I guess I will readjust my numbers... or do I just add them. It felt a little like having the air taken out of my sails. I remember the old saying.. the truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable. Today feels more like the miserable place... I hope that this only gets me to redouble my commitment. Time to think through the numbers one more time. I had hoped to be at my goal weight by Sept 7, the date of the triatholon I am entering, but that no longer feels realistic.

Suggestions?

Use only one scale-either the one at home or at the meetings-never both. Every scale will weigh diffrent. Also keep in mind your inches and the way you look. If yu must use your home scale, set it to the same weigh as the ww meeting scale. Try to weigh only once a week. Don't depend on the scale only. Feel how your clothes fit, how yu look, feel and the inches you have lost. Good luck. http://www.millan.net/anims/giffar/butterflower.gif

I don't remember you before I left to CA. So first of all WELCOME to the best board on BCB.

Remember they are just numbers and yes we do put a lot of stock in them. Sharon made several good points. It's hard to kick the scales, so just set them to the WW scales. And continue to do what you have been doing and those numbers will drop.

Paddler: I agree with the above posters -- only one scale. If you must, then reset your scale to match WW scale. That's what I have to do also because I'm one who just can't stay off the scale and I must know before I get to the official scale. I just hate crying at the scales! graemlins/sobbing.gif Take this one on the chin, try to WI in the mornings (you weigh less then), and try to stick to one scale. Good luck, you can do this!! :D
