G'Mornin, Buddettes!!
It's another day here in Paradise..I'm home until tomorrow sometime, and then back to sit with Mom for some more days. She's not doing well at all; I won't go into any details cuz it takes too long. But..that's where I've been, that's where I'll be... Unfortunately, staying OP is not first on my mind but I know I have to try to think about it!
I just wanted to say hello...let you all know that you're on my mind...it's nice to have some neat friends to think about, and that the support is here whenever I can get to the computer to find you all! Constantly praying for Karena, especially...and keep your chin up, Sissy Jeanski! BTW, Julie..thanks for your ever-present encouragement!...and, Norma..thanks for those recipes..I'll be getting back to them soon's I can! Diana n Dee.. you gals keep that Buddy Wagon goin for me, k..?? If we fall down-go-boom, member...we get back up on there, huh??
And..there are all you other gals out there I'd love to say hi to, as well..! Right now, I'm headed to the patio with my coffee...then off to work at Curves for the morning. Perhaps I'll have a chance to read/post this afternoon as I catch up on housework here, and pack for the trek out again tomorrow! HUGS, y'all!! Have a super day!!

Good Morning Buddies,
It sunny and pretty this am.. thinking about getting out and walking the dog. But I rolled the tv from my sewing room in the rec room over the same toe I stubbed on Sat. Good grief! I was so intense on getting my cleaning project done and I was getting so tired, that it happened again... We have been having the lawn done when DH does not feel like doing it... think I am going to give some thought to suggesting we have a cleaning person come in. I am getting old and tired of this... and just think I will have to do it many many many times before, it is all over.. ugh !
On a happy note, my friend Pat has organiized a gathering for lunch on Thurs, guess I might have told you... Age, you know??? Well, I forgot where we are going, maybe she has not decided yet, will call her later. I am looking forward to it as an outing is an outing and good grief, I need it, from this boring house stuff!!!!!!!!
Nothing going on of much interest. Except I sure have been trying to stay on OP. Remember one of my classmates is coming to Iowa and she was drop dead gorgeous last I saw her... Want to feel better about myself so I am watching myself and my eating.... what a job that is!!!
Carla: The black outfit you bought sounds wonderful. I can just picture you and Tom at a gathering with you wearing it. Bet you are a knock out in it and Tom looking so proud.
KathyJ: I am so pleased for you that you have narrowed you car choice down to two cars.. Both sound perfect for you and DH. We have not done so yet, but have to do so before we leave for AL.
Happy Car Shopping!!!!!!
Jeannette: I am still 'slingshoting' prayers up for you and Karen... I pray as I think of someone and call them 'slingshot prayers'... Little short thoughts of one's I care about.. I do not wait to get in a quiet place, do it as I think of it...
Hugs to all....

Good morning, all. It isn't raining right now, so I guess that is a good thing. Ryann wanted to come home with me last night and sleep over so she is upstairs in bed. She didn't want to go to sleep last night and Grammy was wearing thin! I finally turned the light out and after a long discussion about monsters, she drifted off. Whew! Usually she kicks and punches me all night, but she did good last night. I was afraid I would get clubbed with her cast! ;)
I went for my 1:00 nail appt. yesterday only to find out that it was really at 2:00. Then she discovered that I had made another appt. for 1:00 Thurs. (why??). It is official, I have lost my mind. My nail tech is younger than I, so she thought it was very funny. Yeah, real funny. Glad I don't have a real job, I would get fired in a hurry.
I have lunch with a friend and then a short meeting here this afternoon. Tomorrow, Ann is going to the doctor for her monthly and then we are going to lunch and get the kids pictures taken. I always get their pics done in red, white and blue in the summer and put it in my family room. Since Ryann's cast is hot pink, I'm not sure what we will do.
Beth, I'm sorry your mom is not doing well. I will continue to pray for her and your family. I know how tiring it must be to go back and forth, so take care of you, okay? Enjoy your day at home.
Chari,You jumped in there while I was composing! Good morning to ya! Glad you are thinking of a cleaning lady. It really is so worth it! Thanks for the compliment. I do love that slinky material. Take it easy on those toes, lady! Have a great, OP day.
Love,

Good Morning Buddies graemlins/wave.gif
I am just about on my way out the door to my WW meeting. I wanted to stop by and say hi before I left. All went well with my meeting yesterday, now my disability has been decided that it is permanent rather than temporary. It was a good thing but I was sad and I almost cried when the judge said it was permanent. I have these moments. I try very hard to concentrate on the now and what I can do instead of mourning what I lost and thinking of what I can no longer do. :(
I had a dream of my father last night and I am wondering if it is a sign. I never dream about my father and I rarely even think about him anymore. I don't remember the last time I saw him and he is about 30 minutes away from here in a nursing home. It is a long story..... Anyway it just kind of disturbed me that I would dream of him last night. I believe in signs and premonitions, so I try to pay attention to things like this.
Anyway I am off and will check back in later. Hello to all and have a wonderful OP kind of day. graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good morning, buddies!
I'm at work again, and seem to be busier lately (for which I'm glad -- makes the workday go faster).
Our dishwasher part may not be in for a week to 10 days. DH and I are rather bummed. Dishwasher is only a couple of years old, so the replacement part market is not plentiful for that model yet, hence the wait. For being just two people (and two cats), we seem to dirty a lot of dishes!
Beth, so sorry your mother isn't doing well. Take care of yourself, too, though! Do the best you can with staying OP, but don't beat yourself up over a little slippage.
Chari, don't wear yourself out cleaning! It's not worth it! (Although it surely is nice to have everything perfect for that one moment before things start to get dirty again.) Don't let that self-esteem stuff get to you -- you are already beautiful and elegant (honest!) -- I know you'd feel better about it if you dropped a few pounds, but really, you underestimate yourself. The lunch date Thursday sounds fun -- hopefully it will be at a restaurant where some good choices are available.
Carla, I think that forgetfulness is normal. I've read that it's partly a function of the fact that we have so much more to keep track of than our grandparents did. (But I hate it when it happens, anyhow!)
Dee, I understand what you're saying about being sad that the disability is permanent, even though that's the right thing. That happened to a friend of mine several years ago, and it took her a long time to come to terms with the fact that she truly wouldn't be well enough to work anymore. About the dream -- I think they have meaning, but sometimes it's hard to figure out what that meaning is, and it's not always the obvious.
Jeanette, I'm still thinking of you and Karen often. I like Chari's idea of "slingshot prayers."
Hi and hugs to all the rest of my buddies! Have a great, OP day! graemlins/wave.gif

Good Morning Buddy's, graemlins/wave.gif
Had a good morning so far. Didn't want to go to Wai Tai Chi but got up showered, etc and went. Good session. There was only one other person there besides our Sensi, Joy was there who I truly enjoy and we had a good time.
As I told you this computer is giving me a real headache. But what's a girl to do? Buy a new one, can't see that in my financial future. Need to get on the stick with The Oasis Room that's still a project. At the rate I'm going it will be winter before it gets done.
Beth I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. Hang in there goilfriend things are not always what they seem. Glad to hear your still doing the Curves thing. I am praying for you and your DM.
chari don't stress so much about how you look. Frankly I think your quite a foxy lady ;) And yes I think a cleaning person would be the way to go. I have them come in every two weeks and it seems that that is enough for us. There's just the two of us and the dog, but it sure does help. Consider it very carefully could save you a lot of stress.
Carla what is this about a slinky black dress? I guess I missed it with the computer problems and all. Where did you go or where are you going or did you just buy it in case you go somewhere? LOL Hey I know what you mean about forgetting appointments, etc. I've done it more than once and had to busy myself doing something else. Maybe you can drape something over the cast, in one of the appropriate colors. A small flag  I'm sure you'll think of something. Have a nice luncheon with your friend. Don't forget. :D
Dee I'm sorry to hear about the mandate that was set down. When its only temporary its easier to deal with, but when they say its PERMANENT it's something else. Just think of it as early retirement, maybe that will help. I'm sending you (((((((positive thoughts)))))) for WI.
CathyJ I still have no dishwasher after all these years. My plumbing simply cannot stand it. Hence, we use a lot of paper plates. LOL Sometimes regular china, but mostly paper plates. I buy the good kind at Sam's. Makes life easier for me. We just pretend were on a picnic. It works. graemlins/thumbup.gif
Well I need to get some clothes put away and do some more laundry and straighten up a bit for the maids. I am going to see if I can get my hair cut again while they're here. They don't like me to hang around and I don't like to hang around either. They are having a lot of "summer sales" around Bradenton. We can wear summer clothes all year.
JSki I am continuing to prayer for you and Karena and everyone else that needs it.
Kathy you snuck in on me. I hear you about the dishwasher I always say "my right/left hand" they're my dishwasher. I bet your place will look even more gorgeous when your done. Keep smiling girlfriend.
Need to get started. Still want to ride my healthrider before I start other chores. Will check in later, now that this old computer is working.
Later Losers,

Good Morning Buddies! graemlins/wave.gif Boy, I don't think I've said that in quite a long time. All this running back and forth to Chicago has kind of precluded me from posting on the Common much. Well, I'm off again this afternoon to see Karen and how she's doing. I called down there last night and spoke to her nurse and she seems to be doing so much better. Responsive, moving, and tolerating her new medication well. Off some of the others. All in all, a good report. :D Maybe we can get back to something called "normal", whatever that is. Looks like we may have rain for the ride down there graemlins/ugh.gif Guaranteed to be a snail's pace. I said the other day that you don't have to worry about driving in Chicago, they only go about 5mph most of the time. I can do it!
Beth: So sorry to hear about your Mom. I will certainly send up prayers for her to get better. I sympathize with your going back and forth. I totally understand.
Chari: Thank you for the slingshot prayers!! They help! I just think God felt totally outnumbered this time and decided to give her back to us, thanks to everyone who was praying for her. Whew! Take care of yourself, too, lady. Those tootsies can be very tender you know! A cleaning lady sounds like pure heaven to me. If Wes goes along with it, I'd jump at it! John has always been against such a thing. He's waaaay too paranoid for anything like that.
Carla: Apparently I've missed a few things. What's up with Ryann? A hot pink cast? Sounds pretty cute to me. Did I ever tell you that I had decided to get nails on too? I had been noticing yours in Peoria and decided I should do that too. But keeping them up is another story. But I managed to get them done in between trips! A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! Your black outfit sounds really cute! I'll bet you look great in it, too!
Dee: I guess moments like you had with the judge are bittersweet. You know that you need the permanancy but you hate to acknowledge it. Just like you, I'm happy and sorry for you at the same time. Good luck on your WI today. Like you, I take those things as signs also. Call me superstitious, but I believe in them.
Hello to everyone I haven't been able to address lately! Everyone have a great OP day and will check back in after my trip to Chicago to let everyone know how Karen is doing. :D

Good afternoon everybuddy!
This will probably be my last time to write till i get back. We are leaving early tomorrow morning to go to the mainland to attend an early Birthday Party for me, put on by both my two Sisters, and a sister in law.
I will remember to watch what i eat and drink and stay Op at all times. It is a dress up affair. They are having a hobo party, and are serving the food in brown paper bags, should be fun. It has been a busy couple of days and with cleaning, sewing, and baking i wasn't sure where to start, but it is all done now, and i am glad of that.
It has been really hot here the last couple of days, but very welcome after the cool weather we had. Hope everybuddy has a super Op week, and i wil be thinking of all of you. I will be praying for Jeanette, and karen, it doesn't matter how far away i am or what i am doing i will always remember to pray for you and you families.
Hugs Ris ;)

Just a quick answer to some questions you had. I bought some black slinky clothes for no other reason than I wanted them. Am still trying to decide where I will wear them! LOL. It was a shopping trip, Katy, where Tom and I had a ball buying clothes on sale.
Jeanette, Ryann broke her wrist in 2 places and has a full cast on her left arm. She picked hot pink! We have decided to go to the zoo tomorrow so pictures may have to wait. You should see what that girl can do with just the use of one hand! Amazing how little ones adapt.
Dee, I agree that your news is bittersweet. I am sad for you, too. Take care buddy. I am not major superstitious, but wonder if you really want to visit your Dad? Something to consider. Of course, I don't know the story, so you may completely ignore my comments. ;)
All for now, I am going to dinner with friends since Tom is not expected home until later.
Love to all of you,
