Hello again all my special buddies. Once again I want to thank each of you for your prayers, emails and support during this difficult time during the loss of of wonderful son. We are so thankful to all of you!
Now to let you know that during this time all I seemed to do was to eat. I am now 8 pounds heavier and I feel my clothes getting snug around the waist. I swore that this is something that would never happen to me that I would never gain the weight back. Now I must get back on the wagon and it is soooooooooooo difficult for me to seem to want to . Again I ask for your encourgement and support. I am going to the gym (something I have been thinking about for over a year) and talk to them one day this week. I would love to hear from any of you who have had experience at a gym whether good or bad.
Love you all
Lanie

graemlins/wave.gif Lanie...I am sorry that I haven't welcomed you to our group before now...and also to tell you that I did not know about your loss..I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am that you had to go through this...as you know a couple of our other buddies has been there too and I am sure they can identify much more than I, but I just would like to say that I am praying that you will have better days...I must have been off on vacation when all this took place, because today is the first time I have seen it.....
About the weight gain, at least you are aware and know what to do about it graemlins/thumbup.gif ..and I must tell you I have went to the gym on several occasions and you will love it once you get over the soreness from using muscles you didn't know you had :D ..I went to a spa years ago and did areobics along with the other things...loved the sauna and hot tub.....and I never felt better in my life, so give it a go girl.....it will help!
Again Welcome to our group and I will look forward to getting to know another WW buddy....Norma graemlins/wave.gif graemlins/wave.gif

Great hearing from you Lanie...I know you are concerned about the 8 lbs but just give yourself time to get back into being yourself at your own pace..joining an exercise class would be awesome for you...just to get out and moving...You will find that those pounds will shed from your body before you know it...Just give yourself time...that is one of the most precious gifts you can give yourself graemlins/thumbup.gif ..Also keep posting here...we are all looking forward to hearing more from you in the future..Love and god bless my dear buddy...Hugs...Kathy graemlins/wave.gif

Lanie, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child. When my father passed away (first time I was on WW) I just kept thinking that it wasn't going to help, and certainly not bring him back, if I ate and gained back all the weight I'd lost. It's hard, but we're here for you.

Lanie: After I lost my DD, I lost 8 more pounds and I certainly didn't need that at that time. I had gotten down to 117 lbs., which was way too low for me. Then I started gaining it back again. Those 8, plus another 8 by the time I got a handle on things and went flying back to WW's. So don't feel bad that you've gained some back. It happens, dear. But I knew my DD wouldn't want to be responsible for my wt. gain. Enter WW's.

Now for your real question. I go to the "gym" as often as I can, mostly 4-5 times a week. I Jazzercise and I just love it! It provides me with an outlet for my stress, companionship with other women, and it appeals to the "dancer" in me, which I'm not, but for one hour a night I can pretend that I am and no one notices that I'm not in step or missed a step because they're all doing it too!! :D So much fun! If you like to dance at all, why not give it a try, not to mention the workout you will get! I can't imagine anyone not liking it. You get the aerobic part along with some wt. bearing exercises at the end. No machines. Just you and the music. :D

First of all I would like to welcome you personally to our wonderful group of Buddy's. I am so sorry about the loss of your DS. I must have been out in CA at the time. My DS just died on the 22nd of last month. So I certainly know where your coming from.

As far as the weight goes I wouldn't worry about it, you already seem to have a handle on it. I long time ago use to belong to a gym. And I totally enjoyed it. Need to get back, but I'm doing OK on my own.

I will say a rosary for you dear Lanie.

Dear Lanie,
I welcome you again with open arms.
Re your question about joining a fitness Center, my experience has been absolutely positive. I'm really blessed to have joined a new state of the art fitness center facility in my community. Not only you feel wonderful and full of energy after exercising but you get to know some terrific people, who are on your same path. These people are committed to a healthier happier life just like the buddies here. So, I do recommend joining a fitness center especially after losing your DS. It's a wonderful outlet for your pain.
Hugs.
