Monday, Monday, so good to see, remember that song from the Mamas and the Papas? It is an overcast day today with promise of rain and thunderstorms for the next few days, we shall see...
I am in a bit of a pickle today. Last evening I was coming up the stairs and when I stepped up the last stair my back hurt me. When I took the comforter off the bed for the evening, my back hurt again. I went downstairs and seemed to be fine, took the dog outside, sat on the stairs, came back in, bent over to get the TV guide, and zing went my back and I could not stand up!! I had to get DH to come down and help me get upright again and then I could not sit down. DH got me a pain pill and my body buddy ice pack and I just stood there in front of the couch trying valiantly to sit down. I finally managed but my back hurt terribly. I am moving very carefully this morning, the slightest bending at the waist is sending pain through my lower back. graemlins/ugh.gif I will see how it progresses and I may have to call the doc if it does not improve.
I have an important meeting this AM that I must attend, so I am hoping for the best. If I should bend over and be unable to move, that would be so embarassing and humiliating in front of strangers. odear.gif
Have a nice day everybuddy graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good morning all and Dee, hope your back comes around on it's own and doesn't embarass you at the meeting. smile.gif I can sympathise with you. It's two weeks today since my surgery and I am just getting to where I can sit comfortably with the help of a pain pill or two. The weather is good with an occasional thunder shower but I have nothing planned that the weather would affect drastically anyway. I talked to my five siblings in the past 48 hours which is a first in the 44 years I've been married. Two of them dropped in to visit on their vacation, and two more are coming next month. :D Have a great day BUDDIES. Life is good graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Good morning. It is raining and thundering out there this morning. I didn't get up until 7:30! I asked Tom if he thought I was dead. He seemed more concerned that the satellite was out! My plan is to stay home and do laundry this morning. I have a nail appt. this afternoon and that is it.
We went to Babies R Us yesterday and the kids registered. Shane's family wants to have a shower for Ann. We won't be inviting our friends and family since they have done the shower thing with her and we are having a shower for Nikkole that they will be invited to. Ann is embarassed to have a shower for her third child, but it is his first so I think she should let them do it.
Dee, I think you should definitely talk to your doctor this morning. Your back pain probably won't just go away. Not with the symptoms you have. Please be careful.
Alma, Glad you are doing well. Do your siblings live far away? How nice that they are all planning a visit. Have a great day.
I am going to go walk the pounds away. I'll let you know if I see any dropping off! :D

Good morning...
Dee, ICE, ICE BABY. Believe me, you must do the ice for the first 24 hrs. Take it from someone who has 2surgerys on her back. It's not something to mess with.
Weather kinda foggy this morning (6am) but will burn off I'm sure. Since our office moved on Friay, (I didn't work on Friday) I'll be there for the first time today. Really lookin forward to being in a new environment. Plus its 12 miles less each day that I'd have to drive which adds up to about 15 minutes less driving time and about 7 1/2 minutes more time to get ready for the beach when I get home on my half days. LOL.....I have a thing with numbers, its my job.
http://www.gifanimations.com/Image/Animations/food/java_2.gif Well, now that I've had my cup of coffee, I'd better jump in the shower and get ready for work.
Have a wonderful POP day my friends.

Good Morning Buddies,
Sunny and going to be hot again today... I will never know as I am down stair cleaning the rec room!!!!!!!! Oh my, I hurt all over! It is my fantasy, we will have a clean house anyway... No need to do the 'old fashion fall' cleaning this year. Oh my old body - oh - oh - oh!!!! I stubed my toe on something??? and it is so pretty, blue black and purple... ugh...
Getting ready to go to my exercise class and will go to the rec room this afternoon and completely rec my old bod..
Hugs to you all

Good morning, buddies!
Just stopping in to say hi, since I'm at work. Lurked over the weekend, but didn't post.
We are waiting for a part for our dishwasher, so hope to have a functioning dishwasher again sometime tomorrow.
Still car shopping. Top contenders right now are Chevy Malibu and Pontiac Sunfire. Good rebates on both until the end of the month.
Have a good day, buddies! graemlins/wave.gif

Good morning!.....yep, it's Monday all over again...everyone here is gone to work and it is nice and quite for Jacob and me..I am worn out before the day starts...Jacob has been sick for several days with stomach cramping...there is a virus going around with nothing but "back door trots".....well, the **** broke loose at 4 AM yesterday morning and the poor little fellow "went" to the bathroom about every 10 minutes all day...I finally decided after 6 doses of Children's Kaopectate it wasn't working...I called the Children's hospital pharmacy because I didn't know whether I could give him Imodium on top of the other....but they said I could....crushed up one and gave it to him before I went to the walking track and he hasn't been since...slept all night like a rock...I felt so sorry for him, but I am so happy he is okay..now, if nobody else takes it!.....
Hot and humid again today, but I saw leaves falling already..could it be that Fall is just around the corner already?....didn't summer just get here?...Oh well, I will take whatever comes and not complain..It would be a welcome change for walking. I am having to slip into the pool at night when I walk now, we get so hot.....
Well, not too much to tell today....gotta to get going with the washing...can't get caught up..kind of hard to do with a broken washing machine!..I have been carting clothes back and forth to my MIL's house 2 doors down from us and using her washer...the part for mine will take 7 to 10 days to get here! I have been seen around the neighborhood with my(Jacob's) little red wagon hauling clothes around. One good thing I will have extra activity points for a while...
Take care buddies...wasn't that great news about Karen?...I am happy for them all, seems like she has indeed turned the corner.....thank God
Had a nice chat with Diana last night...no one else showed up..Kathy popped in and right out again, never to be seen>>>>>Kathy, what happened?
Hope everything is okay with you....
Love and hugs to all, have a perfectly OP day my friends.. http://perso.wanadoo.fr/rocamagifs/stock_N/Normaref49.gif

Good morning buddies. Cloudy and damp this morning, the after effects of several thunder showers yesterday afternoon.
The last two weekends have been so lovely out in our neck of the woods. DH and myself throughly enjoying the fruits of his labour, sitting on our deck, surrounded by flowers, thanks to DH making my lovely planters on the deck.
We love sitting out on the deck in the mornings, listening to the birds, watching the baby squirrels play, sipping coffee and reading the paper.
Last fall I was set up with a motorized scooter that has given me back my freedom to roam our property. I cannot believe how beautiful it is to look at things close up. (Even the weeds)lol
My husband has taken to using it quite a bit on weekends to accomplish so much. We are in the process of obtaining a scooter for him also, thanks to the combined efforts of our local Health Unit and Community Club.
I would like to say at this time whenever some of these organizations ask for donations the money really does go to improving the quality of life for many people. Many thanks to the Muscualar Dystrophy Association who provided me with my scooter and now again the Lions Club for my husband. (He has MS)
I am saving these memories of the beautiful days and tucking them away so I can pull them out again and again this winter when I will not be able to get out and around!

Good morning buddies! graemlins/wave.gif Looks like it's going to be another hot day today. We've been having "triple digit" weather. It may sound funny, but it's even been too hot to be out in the pool for long!
Dh and I went and bought lampshades for our "pineapple" lamps that arrived last week. I thought for awhile that we would be going home empty handed, but we finally found some shades we both liked. ;)
Saturday night we went out to dinner for older dd's 15th birthday (her birthday is actually tomorrow). She had invited a good friend to come with us and spend the night so it was a rather low key celebration. We will actually give her her gifts tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone! :D
Norma...I don't know what happen on chat..Like you say...I bounced in to say Hi to you and Diana..I was there long enough to just see who was chatting and then all of a sudden I couldn't get back in....Such is the life of our cyber world I guess...sorry I couldn't stick with you ..would have really enjoyed chatting...maybe next time...have a great day ....happy to hear Jaco is better....Hugs..Kathy

Hi all. A busy day, but absolutely nothing that would interest anyone (it doesn't even interest ME) so I won't bore anyone with my chores.
Gorgeous summer day here - I am trying to decide whether to nap now or later; I start night shift tonight and will sure regret it about 4 in the morning if I don't get some sleep. Days like this I'm glad I'm a gardener. My garden looks quite lovely now. We had a wild storm yesterday while coming back from our weekend away with friends - I was so glad we hadn't taken the motorcycle (had the dog with us, so took the car) and luckily we had no hail, not even any rain, and certainly no tornadoes in the city. The highway was wild in some places. I guess funnel clouds were seen outside the city. It's silly really, there are people who have major problems - serious illnesses, grief, financial problems, and so on. When I hear things that are truly major or sad, I wonder why I get upset when my garden gets hit by hail. But the garden makes me feel good and I guess that's its major function.
Anyway, I think I've made up my mind - a nap now and I can visit with Brian later rather than sleep later. I hope all of you are doing well - Jeanette, I've appreciated the updates on Karena. Sheila

Hiya Buddy's, graemlins/wave.gif
Everything is status quo here on the Homefront. I do not know what is wrong with my computer but it is soooooooo slow, it's disheartening. We had a fairly busy weekend but not all that. Wanted to go out in the boat on Sunday but it rained so that was shot down. So we just hung out around the house, late breakfast, dinner and then went to bed around 9pm. Guess we needed the rest.
JSki I am so happy to hear that Karena is doing better. She will continue to be in my family's prayer along with you of course.
Well its nearly 8pm here, late for me to be posting but just wanted to check in with everyone. Were doing fine and will tackle this computer again tomorrow. Mine have to run defrag or something, maybe a new puter would be in order.
Love you all and take care,
katy smile.gif
