UPDATE ON KAREN - Sunday

Hi Buddies! SHE LIVES!! That's just about how I feel. Today was a very good day! When I walked into her room she had her eyes open and saw me, smiled, and then she started to cry a little. I was so happy that she was able to recognize me! This is such good news, buddies, you just have no idea. She's been taken off of some of her medicines for her blood pressure since that has been more normal now. And actually, now she's putting out too much urine too fast now. If it's not one thing, it's another. They will start her on a blood thinner now to try to slow some of that down now. (I think that's what they said.) She still has a hard time focusing her eyes, but she was able to "talk" to me and she actually remembers some of our "conversation" of yesterday when I asked her about it. It is such a great improvement over what she was. I use the word "what" because that's about all she was, was a "what".

I feel like I have been truly blessed; I feel like I will get my sister back provided nothing else of any major proportions appear. Her skin has stopped oozing but she still has some more water to lose but not so fast. The doctor said she's losing the water but the toxins will come later. So apparently, she still has the infection but is definitely on the upward swing. The only disturbing thing I saw today was that her skin was quite red, like she had a sunburn. She was hot to the touch but her temp was down. In fact, the nurse asked her if she was cold. Karen said no,but that she felt hot. I don't know what that's about, kind of worries me a little.

I got home a little earlier today, about 3:30, and fell asleep until about 8:00!! I was just exhausted. I tried to get into chat, but no one was there tonight. So, here I am saying thank you one more time for all of your wonderful prayers. I really feel that these prayers and those of all the other people who are praying for us, is what really helped her. I guess the doctors and the nurses had something to do with it, too. I don't want to forget them!! But I've been in the room with lots of nurses and doctors and it didn't make any difference at all, I'm sad to say, so I know without God's help those poor people can't do anything at all.

It may be party time soon!! :D :D :D :D :D

Will keep the prayers and hugs coming. And the angels to watch over you both. Wonderful news-just take it one day at a time. Get more sleep and take care of your self. No need for thanks-happy to do it.

Jeanette...........Great news on Karen. Carla has kept me up on her condition as I don't seem to have enough time to frequent the boards. Please let her know I have been thinking about her and I will keep all of you in my prayers. Take care.........

WONDERFUL NEWS! ! ! ! I'm so thankful that Karen is doing better and things are looking up. Thank God. We will continue with our prayers Jeanette for Karen as well as for you and your family.

Now I can do a Happy Dance! One of my fave quotes is, "If you're not expecting a miracle, you're not being realistic." Well, it looks like that miracle has happened!

When my mom went through this, her skin was red because it had been stretched so much with all the swelling (actually, she was so swollen that she looked like Jabba the Hutt, says Daughter Dearest.....) Now, the doctors have to get Karen back onto a more normal medication regime. It may take some fine-tuning, but it's so much better to have them weaning her off things than starting her on stuff.

Don't be surprised if you are more traumatized by this than Karen - my mother was so out of it that she doesn't remember the first three weeks of her hospitalization!!

And since I always look for the silver lining, I should tell you that my mother lost 25 lbs during the time she was hospitalized and she has not put it back on!

Thank Goodness for God's Grace, what wonderful news. I mentioned Karen in our Church yesterday during our concerns portion, and wrote out a prayer card for her. She has been added to our Church prayer chain as well. He is hearing alot about your (our) sweet Karen. And what a wonderful person and sister you are.... I do not have any brothers or sisters, if they had been like you I have missed a whole bunch of love...!!! May God continue to Bless you with strength of be able to carry on and for Karen's recovery.

Jeanette, words can not describe the joy in my heart right now..as I am sure is in yours..We all know our Lord does bring miracles into our lives and Karen is proof of that..I spent time with my family yesterday and gave them all special hugs (without them realizing it) My sisters are so special to me so I know what you are going thru..Thank you dear Lord for all you do in Jesus name..AMEN..
