Jeanette..what good news....tell Karena that all her buddies are with her all the way...we won't give up on her!....so glad you can see an improvement...more prayers and hugs coming your way, girlfriend!...great news!...God is with you, I just know it!
About that Chicago traffic...been there, done that only with several inches of snow and ice on the interstate....my BIL like to have scared me senseless driving at speed limit in all of that, not to mention it was about -15 degrees outside...my Chicago trip was definately one not to forget!..so remember it could be worse!..the traffic I mean....
Tell Karena we love her and if she is hearing tiny little voices it's all us buddies with well wishes and prayers for her recovery....
Oh Jeanette..try to get some rest..I am sure you need it....
Thinking of you often....

Oh, Jeanette - such GOOD news!!!!! I had tears in my eyes as I was reading your post. "Cautious optimisim" has such a nice sound to it. Don't forget to let Karen know that all her BCB buddies are pulling for her too. graemlins/kiss.gif
As for the traffic, I try to avoid being anywhere near downtown at rush hour, but I think our rush hour is a mere pittance compared to what you have to deal with down there.
Thanks for letting us know.

Jeanette,
So happy to read about Karen's progress. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes and praises in my heart. Please give Karen a squeeze from us and let her know that she is never out of my prayers. And you take care of yourself. That traffic is murder and especially when you are already stressed. So take a deep breath and we will pray that the traffic is much lighter today. All my love to both of you and thank you again for coming here and letting us know what is happening.
Love,
Carla

Hi Buddies graemlins/wave.gif I know it's late, but I just had to come here and let everyone know that the prayers are working!! Karen was actually a little better today. I'm so excited! She was actually able to communicate with myself and my daughter! What an improvement over yesterday. As her doctor said "cautious optimisim", but today was sooooo much better than yesterday. She actually opened her eyes (however briefly) and started to cry when she heard us come in and greet her-then she was out again. But we kept on nudging her to open her eyes again, which she did! So we know she hears us! I also got her to tell me where her checkbook was (her taxes need paying at the end of the month, that's the only reason). We asked her to squeeze our hand if it was in the bedroom (three times) and she did not squeeze our hand, then we asked her if it was on her table AND SHE SQUEEZED OUR HAND!! Then, just to be sure, we asked her again if it was on the table AND SHE SQUEEZED OUR HAND AGAIN!! What a happy time. And I contribute this all to all of the wonderful prayer from our buddies and family and the good care she's been getting from her nurses and doctors. She's not out of the woods yet, so keep on praying for her, if you will. The doctor said he thought she might be on her way as long as we could still avert another major calamity like, heart attack, stroke, blood clot, or more infections. I'm sooooo happy, trying not to be too anxious, but's it's hard. I was going to keep this information till Sunday, but with my big mouth, I just couldn't do that!! Besides, I'll be going back down to Chicago tomorrow, so maybe I'll have something more to report tomorrow.
You have no idea the traffic down there. graemlins/ugh.gif I left her on Friday at 1:30 (supposed to be a short trip on Friday) and didn't get home till 4:30! There was grid lock on the highway. It looked like a parking lot. A mass exodus out of Chicago for the weekend, I guess. But believe me, it's little enough that I have to go through compared to what she's going through. I'm not complaining, just amazed at the traffic. Ok, maybe I'm complaining just a little tiny bit. :D
So again, buddies, thank you, thank you, thank you soooooooooo very much for all of your prayers and kind words and thoughts. This board is about more than just weight loss.
Jeanette, so glad to hear the good news,as someone said keep bugging her to open her eyes and communicate with you, she does know you are there.Still saying lots of prayers for you and Karen and the family.
Love & hugs going your way

Oh, I'm so happy! Keep on noodging and pestering Karen to come back and connect with you. The yes-or-no questions are a great idea until she can communicate more easily. Then, you can progress to note-writing - my mother used a notepad with a hard back, and I'd guide the pen for her.
More prayers are zooming your way! Hang in there, both of you!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I woke up this morning with that running though my head and I've been saying it all day. I just can't say it enough! You guys have been troopers and right there with me the whole way! I've told Karen about all the support for her (and me) from the board and how wonderful everyone is!
