Dear Buddies:

This week, let's think of exercise as a GIFT . It's a precious gift that we need to give ourselves this week. When we exercise, we give ourselves the gift of a longer, happier, healthier, thinner life. Let's all make a commitment to use this precious gift this week.

Sunday, 7/20: 10 min weight lifting, 25 min walk
Monday, 7/21: 30 min walk
Tuesday, 7/22: 60 min Pilates, 60 min dancexercise class
Wednesday, 7/23:
Thursday, 7/24:
Friday, 7/25:
Saturday, 7/26:

Let's think of exercise as a gift and not as a chore this week.

Hello EveryBuddy! :D [I like that: "EveryBuddy". heh]

Well, it *is* a gift! I was just zipping along with my exercise and weight loss until I developed plantar fasciitis. I had to just stop walking [my favorite form of exercise] to allow my foot to heal up, according to my doctor. I did some "Sit and Be Fit" tapes I got off TV, but my entire WW Program began to go off kilter. I healed up *finally*, and got on BCB for encouragement, and began walking again. Been at that for about 3 months. I never gained any weight back, just didn't lose much over my "non-exercise, healing the foot" time.

Now both of my big toes have ingrown nails, and man, is that ever painful! But I am walking anyways, however gingerly, and then I drive my bus all day, plus my commute. [I drive a transit bus for a living, and have a 3 hour commute every day, M-F. I have a tendency to drive "on my toes", using those big toes a lot to accelerate and brake, all day long...ow-ee!] By the end of the day, my poor big toes look like this:

I'll tell you, as soon as this antibiotic I'm on kicks in and cures the infection in my toes, and walking for 20 min. a day isn't painful like this anymore, I will be *so grateful*! It has truly made me realize just what a gift it is to be *ABLE* to walk!! You are so right about that!!!

I still intend to walk, though, 20 min. every day, so this diabetes of mine is in check! The doctor also said I should be able to reverse it, so that makes my daily walking even more important to do, and I intend to do it for life.

Take Care,

I am still side-lined with various troubles of a physical nature  I hope to get back out there soon. Today I started PT for my neck and I hope to start walking as soon as I am able. I did get out for a few short walks each week but nothing major.
