I have a minute here before having to start to do some kind of errands around my house and then I'll probably be back on my way down to Chicago again. I honestly thought the next time I posted would be to tell you that Karen had passed. Well, she's still hanging in there, don't ask me how because I just have no idea.
Her heart is again acting up and now she's starting seizures. She had two of them yesterday and they don't know why so they are starting tests to determine the cause of that. One good thing is that she's been putting out more urine, so maybe she can expell some of those toxins from the infections now. It's been determined that she has staph and pneumonia. Still haven't identified the third yet. They're still talking renal dialysis, but I'm not sure she'll need that yet. Still very, very puffy though and now some of her skin is starting to split from the overload of water in her system. She has like 9 machines hooked up to her and I heard the nurse say yesterday that there's no more room for anymore, so I hope she doesn't need anymore medicine. Right now she's totally unresponsive to us. She still responds to pain, however. She's in the next thing to a coma.
I just want to thank everyone who has contacted us and thank you all so very much for your prayers. Please continue them, she really needs them. I haven't called down there yet to see how her night went since they are in shift change right now. So that's all the news I have on her right now. If I have anymore news on her one way or another, I'll try to keep everyone posted either myself or through kap.

I will keep hoping and praying for Karen to pull through this Jeanette, I have seen first hand how miracles and what seems like the impossible can happen.
When my father was 70 years old he became ill and very nearly died. After opening him up for surgery they discovered he had severe pancreatitis and was not expected to live. He was puffed out so much he was unrecognizable to us, he was unresponsive and hooked up to life support machines for three months. The doctors gave us a grim outlook and said he had about a 10% chance of survival. He spent the summer in the ICU, then in September he was moved to the step down unit and by October he was back home and on his feet again!! He is still alive and nearing 90 now.
I believe in the human spirit and the will to live. I believe my father had a very strong constitution and a will to live and I also believe his work here was not done yet and so he was sent back to finish. I am hoping that Karena will make her way back to health and family.

Morning Jeanette....God Bless You and most certainly Karena...she is having a rough time of it...I just keep remembering how her spirit was before the surgery...she was ready for it no matter what...Even though I have never met either of you it seems that I have...I am and will continue to keep both of you and your families in my thoughts and prayers....hang in there, things will be better...
When I think of you both I see that picture of the group meeting and that great big smile on her face throwing up her hand as if to say Hi to all of us that didn't have the luxury to attend....somewhere underneath all of this she is smiling...The urine output being better is a small improvement..lets just hope she keeps taking those baby steps..one day at a time!

******{Jeannette & Karen}}}} I will continue praying for you, and my wish is that you are just moments away from the miracle that you deserve. It sounds like Karen's medical care is first-rate. I'll be thinking of (and praying for) you throughout the day.

Jeanette,
You and Karen are literally the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing at night. I believe that is God's way of reminding me to pray for you both so I do. Thank you for taking the time to update us. We will all be praying that she makes the turn and comes home soon.
Love,
Carla

Dear Jeanette,
Many, many prayers are being lifted up for Karen and for you. Please take care of yourself. It is so very difficult to see someone we love going through so much. I pray that God's healing hand touches Karen with improved health, guides her doctors and nurses as they minister to her needs, and givees you the strength & peace you need during your sister's battle.

Hey Jeanette...just thought if you have the time, why don't you print some of the posts and read them to Karena when she is up to it.....just a thought...anything to help stimulate her mind..there are so many, maybe it would help her to hear some of them.....

Again, ladies, I just can't say thank you enough for me and my sister. I've told her how many of you have wished her well and are praying for her from the boards. I will try to keep you informed as I find things out.
