G'day babes graemlins/wave.gif
had a grouse time yesterday catching with my old friend, before I left we made a date in a couple of months to do it again :D Finally got my tupperware that I had ordered last night, so the idiot that I am, stayed up to near on 2am revamping the pantry and finding out what sizes I need to order for a few more containers! It's wonderful I can now see all the containers instead of looking behind them, I bought the oval and super oval modular mates, which don't take up much room!
Hard to beleive we've actually had rain the last couple of days, the poor roads though, they are covered in potholes, makes for dangerous driving, apparently it's due to everything being so dry for the past couple of years and now all the rain is virtually washing them away
Tina.. how's DH doing?
Jane.. you've got to be kidding, who in their right mind would invite 900 people to a wedding. I personally think anything from 50-200 is plenty. You stick to your guns, I don't agree with people inviting others to weddings that aren't even friends. After all as your DD put it, it's her wedding and the reception and everything is up to her and then you not future inlaws.... are chipping in with some moula or paying half? When I made the arrangements for my DD's wedding a couple of years ago, I wouldn't let the future inlaws contribute to the wedding, as they had all these suggestions and wanted to interfere, so DH and I decided that we would flip the whole bill, told them how many they could invite and DD could have everything the way she wanted without all their interfering.
Mardee.. no slow internet thing is with our ISP. FOr $75 a month we used to get unlimited downloads, then they bought in that for $150 a month you could get unlimited and that if we continue to pay $75 we would get capped at 3 (meg, gig??? whatever it is) and I refuse to pay double for what we used to get!!!! No point in changing ISP providers as ours is still about the best one, what is good is that with the others they charge you extra for everything you download, and ours just caps us, so we get a speed of about a 28k.
Karen (Ice).. so nice to see you 2 days in a row, keep on journalling babe :D
Linda.. hope the heads clear this morning, you me and headaches/migraines I'm so sick of getting them!!!!!
Sal.. sure is tomorrow for me, now tomorrow, I'll finally be able to check the other topics!!!! Have a great one!!!!!

Hi to my Fabulous Buddies graemlins/wave.gif
This is an early post for me. Am at work at present on my break, so I thought I'd try to be the first to post. Still can't get ahead of Bizz though. But then, she does have the advantage of a few time zones. Heh. Heh.
Not much on tap for me for the last day of July. I just find it hard to believe we will be starting our 8th month. YIKES !!! Before we know it, we'll all be singing Christmas Carols!!!!
Anyhow, once I get off work, its Bedtime for me. Then up in the late afternoon, dinner and my walk to work. Am really beginning to enjoy walking back and forth to work. Just giving me enough activity to keep me active in the Exercise Challenge when working. (Boy !!! what an exciting life I do lead---LOL)
Bizz--Bye the sounds of it you're being washed away by the rains. Is it necessary to send building plans for an ark???? Or have the rains now stopped??? Let us know if we can help
Tina--You have been in my thoughts over the past week. I know you are going through a difficult time, but I'm sure you're aware that we are all pulling for you and your hubby
Hi to Jane, Mardee, Sal, Linda, and Ice. (and anyone else I have forgotten to mention) :D

I'll check in later. Have a great day!

Good morning ya'll,
It's the last day of the month, so I'll be counting beans this afternoon. It's only going to be in the low 90's again today. We had a good rain yesterday. The repair of the skylight in our master bath seems to have worked. Now we just have to get the ceiling repaired.
Time to get moving. I'm going in early again today.
Everyone have a great day.

Woo hoo, I got an A in Crim Law! Oh, and good morning! :D Sorry to dive right in, but I'm very happy about my grade -- hopefully my other grade will be up there too, but it hasn't been posted yet, so I'm still waiting...
I have a dentist appointment after work today -- what a fun-filled day this will be. :D At least it's just a check-up and not a major procedure. Other than that, not a lot going on. A friend of mine from law school is leaving for England and Ireland on Friday and I'm SO jealous! I miss traveling so bad!
Hope everyone has a terrific Thursday!

Good morning, buds!
Got up a few minutes late and decided to exercise anyway, so not a lot of time this morning. Nothing exciting today, but tomorrow brings DD#2's senior picture appointment! (How'd I get so old? ) Then tomorrow night I have concert tickets for John Mayer and Counting Crows. That should be fun.
Mardee - Congrats on that "A"!! You're an inspiration to me!
Gotta run - catch you all later!

Good morning, buddies! Just back from a quick jog. I have P.T. this afternoon so I'll save some energy for that!
DD's fiance seems to be a great guy after all. Yesterday, I was worried about how to have a wedding with a huge number of people, but last night he told Lauren he and his mom had worked on a list and had cut theirs to 160!!! He told me he'd be the happiest groom ever if he could invite 200! (My DH says he should be the happiest groom ever b/c he's marrying DD!!! graemlins/kiss.gif ) Anyway, I'm glad they're willing to be flexible. He said he wants all his old friends at the wedding b/c he's proud of DD and wants them to see her. I told them I'll send announcements with pictures to those who don't come to the wedding (thanks for the idea, Mary ). He thought that would be great.
Biz, I'll bet your pantry looks great now with all the Tupperware. I really MUST get organized! Your internet prices do sound outrageous, and I thought my DSL was high!
Karen (Roller) It think that's great that you walk to work--sure does help with the AP, right?
Tina, you and your DH are in my prayers. So glad he's healing quickly from the surgery, at least. Or, maybe if he didn't feel so good, he wouldn't be trying to do so much?
Cinna, ONLY 90 degrees? Ya'll must have had a cold front! Good luck with the ceiling repair . . .
Mardee, Congratulations on the A!!!! I know that must have been really tough. That's DH's field--he loves the "bargaining" part of the job . . .
Grace, WTG exercising even though you'd have an excuse to avoid it. I hope you enjoy the Senior portrait session. They do grow up quickly, don't they?
Lisa, The White Rock Half is half of a marathon (13.1 miles) that's held in Dallas at White Rock Lake about a month before the White Rock marathon. A lot of people use the Half to train for the marathon. Sal and I are going to run it--anyone else want to join us?
Well, like usual, I have work to do before I go to work. Have a great day!

Morning Fabs!
DS's just had b'fast, getting ready to go to swimming lessons. Then we get home from that, sitter shows up, then I'm out the door for work. After work we dash to the ice rink for skating lessons, then I have to get gas in my car and gotta stop for groceries... we are OUT of milk as of this morning! Some days I just feel like I'm not doing that great of a job with this single mother thing... I have no idea how some women do this permanently!
I have clinic today, it's my busiest day of the week but also my favorite because I LOVE seeing patients! Hopefully it won't be too overwhelming, I'm still new at the Endocrine stuff.
Gotta dash, have a great day everyone!

Morning all!
Wheeww. I was so tired yesterday I could hardly write a thing. Worked all day at my Dad's house with my sister trying to organize and clean it before he comes back from vacation. At the moment, it looks like a tornado hit! And he will be back in less than a week. We worked from 8:00 am till 8:30 pm with just one break for lunch on Tuesday and this was the second day we worked on it! I got home and DH thought he had accidently fed our dog a coin . . . (don't ask!). I called the vet emergency line and the told us bring him in asap for an x-ray that coins can be toxic to animals and might have to be surgically removed  (this was at 11:00pm after working on my Dad's house all day) Well to make a very long story short - our dog was fine! No coin swallowed, no surgery needed. . . .but with all these vet bills, we are going to have to take out a "third" mortgage! Needless to say since I wake up for work at 4:30 am, I didn't get much sleep!
Haven't been doing to well with the workouts. I stepped off a two step stepstool at Dad's thinking it was a one step and slammed my ankle owwweee. That on top of the my achy knees. sorry - i'm whining . . .
Got a co-workers bday lunch today. Not sure where she wants to go . . . Hopefully, it will be someplace OP.
Bizz: Have you seen the little 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) containers that tupperware makes? perfect for salad dressing
Tina: Men are DARN stubborn when they are sick . . .no they are just plain stubborn all the time!!!
Karen: Yikes Christmas right around the corner. . . scarrrrryyy. Time to start with the christmas shopping!!!
Mardee: A huge CONGRATS on the A!!!
Cinna: I'm counting the beans right with ya!!!
Grace: We are NOT old!!!
Jane: The announcement idea is a great one! Also you could find a reception place that only holds a certain amount of people. That will give you a built in excuse to limit the number of guests and people seem to understand that!
Ice: have a good one!! Sound a bit hectic!!
Hey to all I missed and have a great day!!

Good morning.
I have put in a full day of work already this morning and it is only 10:30. Since I was off, I got in early this am, to get ready for a meeting that I have this afternoon. Financial, minutes etc are all done and ready to be copied.
Yesterday went to quickly. I did make it to the grocery store and got a lot done around the house.
Tonight DH and I may try to get to an auction, I am so addicted! And then go out to dinner. DH leaves tomorrow morning for Indianapolis, for the Brickyard 400 Nascar race. Tomorrow night I will have the evening to myself, no DH and no DD's. I don't get the girls back til Saturday.
And I have such a busy weekend again, but I will fill you all in on that tomorrow, as I must run.
MARDEE........Congrats on the A that is wonderful!
Have a good day hugs to you all.

Good morning buddies, yes it is still morning here (barely).
Today is the group picnic, manglement is bringing the burgers, everyone else is bringing potluck. I'll manage somehow. I brought fundraiser cookies (to get rid of them - the swim team sold frozen cookie dough). Someone was signed up to bring veggies. I'll probably come back to work afterwards; I haven't gotten enough done to take the time off and (unpaid) overtime is tough in the summer.
I hope everyone has a great OP day!

graemlins/wave.gif Good morning y'all! I'm at work, so I have to be quick! Ran last night for 45 min and my knee feels pretty good today. I can't believe how much ground I've lost. I only did it at 5.3 mph at a .5-1.0 incline. I was doing a 5.8-6.2 mph run. Oh well! graemlins/ugh.gif We are going out to dinner tonight and will have a family night and watch, "The Count of Monte Christo".
No time for personals. graemlins/sobbing.gif Prayers, love, hugs and **********{SV's}}}}}} to all! Have a great OP day!

Good morning buddies! graemlins/wave.gif It's only gonna be in the low 90s here today, so I'm much happier. I have to admit that I feel as though someone stuck a large syringe in me and drained just about everything useful from my body. I'm whipped from the heat. It may actually be down into the low 80s for the weekend. I am hoping that's the case. I've been working on getting the materials together for remodeling my bathroom. I bought laminate flooring a few nights ago and checked on the price of a new countertop/sink combo -- $918.50! I think it will be some creative tiling, new sink and faucet, but no corian or avonite for me. I'm having a new vanity custom made by my sister-in-law's dad. He's very talented, and since I live in an old house with non-standard measurements, it really helps to have him around! I'm really looking forward to having a new bathroom. My current vanity is just painted plywood with cabinets, no drawers! It's heck trying to find anything you want in there.
Biz - I'm so much better today. I too hate the migraines and the sinus stuff. If only it would all go away! How's the accupuncture going? Any relief yet?
Karen - yes, time is flying! I'm kind of glad though, because I want the next six years to hurry on by. Then I can retire and time can slow down all it wants to! ;)
Tina - if you gals have a 100+ chat, can I come too? I started out with almost 100 to lose. I'm about half way there.
Cinna - happy bean counting! I'm gonna get into some repair jobs as soon as it cools down here!
Mardee - congrats on the A!!! I knew you would do well.
Grace - oh -- a concert sounds so fun. My sister and brother in law will be seeing James Taylor here in town in September. I couldn't get tickets. The Dead are playing up in the gorge then too, but I think I'll pass on that one. Saw them many times in my youth.
Jane - sounds like you're getting a nice son-in-law! Hopefully, not all the people he invites will come!
Karen - I don't know how households with two parents handle the social lives of kids, so I can imagine what you're going through. You can do it though, you're a very capable woman!
Joni - my goodness, what a time you've been having. I hope you get some time to relax! Is it as hot down there as it has been up here? I can't wait for things to cool off!
Becky - being busy seems to suit you. You sound so much happier lately. I love the Fireking glassware. I have a bunch of it myself - started collecting it a few years ago, as it reminds me of my grandmother's house in Vermont.
Nancy - hope you find some good points-friendly food at the picnic.
Sal - where are you this morning? Out running? Squishing boobs? tongue.gif Hope you catch you on AIM soon.
Well, back to the salt mines!

Hey Linda - you sound as bad as we are . . . perpertual remodelers!!! We are going to do are guest bathroom next too. I've already started pulling down wallpaper. Next is to pull out all the tile, which we will redo! We bought the cabinet about a year ago from Home Depot - it was a discontinued style and was marked down, so we grabbed it.
It's been very muggy down here. Not quite as hot as it was last week. In the high 80's and low 90's, but because of the high humidity it feels hotter. We actually got a few very brief sprinkles over the last few days. It does kinda zap you!

Hi, guys. I didn't get logged on at all yesterday, it was so busy I was really stressed all day. One bright moment was WI, I was down .6! I was so pleased because it means that I have definitely broken the barrier into the 150's (for several weeks I just couldn't seem to get below 160). I'm having a much better day today, I am managing to get caught up on a whole bunch of small tasks and errands that have been piling up.
Weather remains absolutely perfect, and I am so enjoying walking most mornings to the bus stop and then home at night. The extra exercise doesn't even feel like exercise, it feels like 'me time'.
Oh oh oh, I almost forgot, guess what I found this morning - my waist!! I realized after I got dressed and looked in the mirror that my body actually goes in at the waist. It's been years since it did that. LOL.
Gotta go. Still have lots of backlog to finish off. Hope you all have a great day.

Goodmorning, well actually it is afternoon by now isn't it.
Have had a busy morning, and I am ready for a break but only have time for a short one :(
Mardee: congrats on the grade graemlins/thumbup.gif
Bizz: I have been working on organizing my kitchen cabinets. I feel stupid, Tupperware did not even cross my mind!!! Thanks for the idea!
Karen: I wish I could walk to work, I love walking. I really missed not walking the dog the past two weeks because we were so busy painting kitchen cabinets.
Tina: Glad DH is so ok. Men can be the worst patients.
Grace: graemlins/thumbup.gif for excercising even though getting up late WTG
Jane: Sounds like future SIL is great, and I am sure a relief to you they are willing to be flexilbe.
Ice: sounds like a hectic morning hope the rest of the day goes better.
Jane: Never reallized coins could be toxic to animals, glad he didn't eat one. Careful with your ankle, hope it is better.
Nancy: I am sure you will do just fine with the picnic, and you did mention some one was bring a veggie tray. Have fun, and enjoy the visit with friends.
Sal: Glad your knee is doing better, just take it slow, you don't want to reinjure it.
Linda: Glad your headache is better, I know after I have one of those the next day I am totally drained. Remodeling graemlins/ugh.gif Love the afterwards it the doing that is frustrating. We still need to put new flooring down on kitchen floor, told DH that would have to wait, I hate having my kitchen torn apart, and not be able to use it.
I can't beleive it but, school starts two weeks from today  . We haven't even gone any where or done anything fun yet. And this weekend is tax free weekend, I am definately going to avoid the store, not a good crowd shopper. i do my WI tommorrow. I can't wait to get my at home kit, they said it won't ship until after 08/17.
Everyone have a great OP Day

Good Whatever All graemlins/wave.gif ,
I am doing the happy dance this morning-lost 2 lbs at WI last night. It will stay right at the pool or PT office where I left it tongue.gif
I had the best of intentions this morning, got up and logged on and my DS#2 in Cuba was online and we chatted until I had to go eat and go to PT. So I am later than usual posting. I was the only one in PT this morning, so that was fun! Instead of the radio, we turned the TV on.
I am tired today, I think I will take a little graemlins/sleep.gif
DS#1 just called to say that they are cancelling the second half of the job here in AZ, so he will be leaving at the end of next week. He will finish on Tues, spend Wed-Fri with me and then go home to CO. I guess it is better than not at all.
Well, I have rambled enough. Hope everybuddy has a great day!

Mary....whoohoooo, way to go on the loss.
Linda, Do you have the Fireking dishes. I picked up the peach lustre, which match the 8x8 and loaf pan, and a few other pieces that I had. I love this stuff, but I didn't have any luck finding the history or year made on the internet. I found tons on the Jadite set, but that is the wrong one. Any idea on this stuff, is it old? I also got a set, well sort of , of mostly pastels, Early California Vernonware that was made between 1937-1947.

Becky - I have Jadeite. Mostly sets of bowls, tea cups and saucers. It is also known as Depression glass, because that is the period during which most of it was made. I see that replicas of it are now in fashion, but I prefer the "real" stuff.

Becky, there are several books out that might give you some information on the pieces you have. Check out Anchor Hocking's Fire-King and More: Identification and Value Guide Including Early American Prescot and Wexford (Anchor Hockings Fire King & More)
at www.amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com) -- they might even have it at your library. I have a single Fire King piece I inherited from someone -- it's an azurite mixing bowl. I believe the peach lustre is more from the 60's or 70's. Jadite is actually a generic term for jade green opaque glass -- several companies made jadite including Anchor Hocking in its Fire King line. I know there are a ton of fakes on the market now, so it pays to be careful when buying.
BTW, I collect Harlequin dinnerware from the 30's and 40's, as well as 1930's ivory Beswick vases from England, and I have ONE piece of Rookwood pottery. I also buy vintage tableclothes, napkins, sheets, pillowcases, etc (and I USE them!), as well as a myriad of other old stuff. I love vintage pieces and antiques -- it's one way I have to RE-USE AND RECYCLE! :D

Hi Everyone,
I'm just popping in to say a quick hello. I miss all of you-- I thought I'd be able to catch up at chat last night, but got bounced out and couldn't get back in....
I've been having a very hectic summer. We go to my Mom's house in Massachusetts every weekend. So I spend most of Thurs. & Friday packing, Monday and Tuesday unpacking and doing laundry, and Weds. recooperating! I don't have access to a computer while away, and am frequently swamped or exhausted these days when I get back. Anyway, I try to lurk and catch up on the posts but you guys are so busy it's hard to catch up! Well, gotta go, kids are sleepy, walking buddy is waiting, and I need to start filling the suitcase! Have a great weekend everyone, hope to catch you all next week. Way to Go Mardee! Thinking of you Tina, hang in there Lisa-- Weddings can be tough! TorBabe! Miss ya!
Best,
Zaybe
