I'm off today and all excited, I'm having lunch with an old friend that I haven't seen in 7 years, just the yearly christmas update of all the goings on with our families!

Good morning ya'll,
WE finally got some rain last night. Thunder started around midnight and the rain lasted about two hours. It was loud enough to wake me. The forecast is for cooler temps again today. Low 90's instead of 100's.
I have an appointment to get my nails done after work today.
Not much else going on right now. Just work, work, work. I'm going in early again today, so I better get moving.
Everyone have a great day.

Good morning, buddies! I missed checking in yesterday b/c there was so much going on. They've FINISHED both of the retaining walls at our house--after they completely tore out the one in the back two times!!! Monday and yesterday, there were dozens of men working to finish it.

I'm repeating over and over: "Weddings are fun. Weddings are fun." I think if I do this enough I'll believe it! Actually, I do think they're fun. I met with dd, her df and his mom yesterday to discuss wedding plans. Our expectations were WAY off! DF's family invited 900 people to their DD's wedding last year. They said about 500 showed up! We don't even KNOW that many people--I told them we were planning to have about 200 people at the wedding. They want lots of people, serving just cake and punch at the reception. We want fewer people so we can have a nicer reception. Oh dear . . . . DD handled it beautifully--said, "Your friends won't necessarily expect to be invited since it's your son getting married and they know it's the bride's family who is giving the wedding." His mom said, "You're probably right." I'm thinking of setting up a wedding donation site so we can please both families! :D

I worked hard at physical therapy yesterday but it was fun. The PT says there's no reason I can't run the White Rock Half and that I'd better get busy training! Gear up, Sal!

Biz, so glad you get to see your friend--sounds like a lot of fun.

Cinna, relax and enjoy being pampered this afternoon!

Tina, can you send some of that rain our way? We haven't had any in 3 weeks . . .

I'm off to run now. Have a great day, everybuddy!

Good morning! The weather is still nice and cook this morning -- I hope it holds. I went for a walk last night, since it was so nice out. I'm starting to get my books for school in -- so far only one assignment has been posted, but I imagine the others will go up soon. And I'm still waiting on my grades, darn it! They'll probably come in at the last possible minute, which is August 8th. :(

Bizz: Sorry about the slow downloads -- does that happen all over Oz, or is it just your locality or ISP?

Tina: Enjoy the rain -- I never mind rain in the summer, because I know how much the plants need it. smile.gif

Cinna: I'm glad you got some rain, too -- hopefully things will start to cool down for you now!

Everybody have a wonderful Wednesday!

Jane, just missed you. smile.gif That's the hard part about weddings -- pleasing everyone! And I'm with you -- if I'm going to go to a wedding reception, and buy a gift, I want something more than cake and coffee! Are both families splitting the expense? I do think that's sensible -- to me there's no reason why the bride should have to pay for everything when both families share in the benefits and joy.

Good morning, Buds!

It's my long day today, and it starts early. Ugh. graemlins/ugh.gif

I took my girls to the Lone Star Steakhouse last night. DD#2 works there. For the first time in my life, I had chicken instead of steak! That was my plan, and I stuck to it. I hadn't planned on the BBQ sauce, but I have some AP's I can use for that. The chicken was really good, and a whole lot more points friendly than a steak!!

Hi to all, and I hope you have a great day today. I gotta get all 3 meals packed to take with me, since I'll be at work late, so I better get my backside in gear...

G'morning buds!

Happy Wednesday to all!

DS got through his check up yesterday and was too busy arguing with me over getting the tetanus shot he didn't notice that it was already over, LOL.

A quick trip to DIA this morning to drop off the parents and then DS has a meeting with his counselor this afternoon is all that is planned for the day. I'm looking forward to getting back into my daily routine.

Looking forward to chat tonight.

Jane - What is the White Rock Half?

More personals later hopefully. Need to go take care of breakfast...

hugs, Lisa

Hi!

I've been on the run for a few days. Without DS#1 here to take his brother to work, I am having to do that. Unfortunately, they work 30 miles south of here, so I'm making the trip twice a day. I did spend one day shopping instead of driving back, but I figure I might get into big trouble if I do that more than once, LOL!

Biz- I recently renewed some old friendships... aren't they great?
Tina- can you send me some of those cats and dogs? We're parched here.
Cinna- I'm jealous! I keep thinking I'll make an appt. but haven't found the time.
Jane- OMG! How can anybody know that many people!!! Do they not understand the terms "family and friends"? Sending you calming vibes!!!
Mardee- good luck on the grades. Hope you don't have to wait too long!
Grace- You know, I haven't really missed steak all that much. And BBQ chicken sounds great! I think I'll make some tonight.
Charlie- Week's almost gone! Hang in there! Oh, I see by your avatar you already are! LOL

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Good Morning ALL graemlins/wave.gif ,
We had a wowzer of a summer storm last night (I think it then went to you, Cinna!). Thunder, lightning and it poured rain. Everything smells SO happy this morning.
The major thing on the agenda this morning is PT, then WI tonight. No matter what the scale says, I won't despair. I took my measurements and since June 9 I have lost 16.75 inches  It is now coming off all around, even my bust, YEEEHAAA! :D I feel better and I move better, so take that metal monster
Gotta run, have to have breakfast before PT. Have a great day everybuddy!
Mary

Jane I have 2 more weeks of PT left for a total of 6 weeks. Most of it I will be able to continue at home or the gym, just won't have the ultrasound or ice & electricity. Wow, the grooms family must have wanted to invite all of your town! Glad a compromise was reached. We had to limit at our son's wedding and solved the problem by sending out announcements to the ones that we knew couldn't attend (all of the extended family-my mom is one of 11 kids and I have Aunts, Uncles and cousins coming out my ears)or were more aquaintances, but didn't want to leave out either.

Good morning buddies,

Another graemlins/crazy.gif day in central NY. My employer is taking us all to the (AA) ball game tonight, fireworks and all.

Dh showed me his planned train setup this morning. It'll take up two walls (2' wide) in one room of the basement, but he just realized he can put cabinets under it. Which will take care of all the "stuff" that's now stored in the middle of the floor! We still have stuff that's not unpacked from his move. We can add storage over it too. The "scenery" will be my project - I'm looking forward to it.

Jane, when you get down to the real planning, the parents just have to remember who's getting married, right? I'm sure it was good to find out what his parents expect, but it's your dd's and her df's day. Mardee - anyone who contributes money to the wedding expects a measure of control in return. You have to be careful!

Enough rambling. If I want to go to the ball game I'd better get to work!

I hope everyone has a great OP day!

Goodmorning all!!

This will either be a good day or a bad day at work!?!?!

I work for a dentist, and we have one patient that will be here all day. She is having all of her upper teeth either crowned or veneers  Things can either go really smooth, or things can go wrong which will make it stressful for everyone. I hoping for smooth, I will have to go back around lunch time and relieve the assistant so she can have lunch and take a break. All I can say that I better see a bonus coming our way this pay day!!! ;)

Other then that nothing else on for today. DD will be staying over at a friends house tonight so that will me a night of no whining "I'm Bored". Thankfully, school starts two weeks from tommorrow here. This summer went by quick. It seems they just got out of school.

Everone have a great day

Morning Buddies!

Just time for a quickie - DS's have swimming lessons all this week - 8:20 - 9:40 a.m. - then I go to work from 10:30 - 5:30. Makes for a long day, that's for sure!

Had ice skating lessons with DS #1 last night, still working on that 3-turn. DS perfecting his competition program, might do a local competition in August.

Woke up at 5 am to some serious thunderstorms! Major wind but no damage here, it's still raining gently... we sure do need it, news reports we are 10 inches behind in this year's rainfall!

Sitter's here, gotta dash. Have a fabulous day everyone!

Well, it only got up to 101 yesterday. More of the same expected for today. I have such a headache I can't even see straight and am not sure why I even came to work. The words look funny on the screen, so if I'm spelling things weirdly, please excuse me.

Biz - we need to lobby for better internet providers in Oz! A few more days and you'll be back with us!

Tina - I'd settle for just raining hop toads here. Everything is so dry.

Cinna - I need to cut my nails. The get in the way when I type. Might be time I put some nice color on them too. I haven't done that in ages. I used to paint them every Sunday.

Jane - that's great they got the walls done quickly after screwing up! The wedding planning does not sound so fun. It is, ultimately, the kids' day, so they should control how many people are invited. I think smaller weddings are nice though -- If it's a big extravaganza, you don't get to see half the people and the bride and groom end up in the receiving line for the entire reception!

Cheryl - your breakfast sounds yummy. Who was Bernie Mac? I hate to ask!

Grace - good for you in sticking to your guns. I'm usually a chicken gal myself.

Charlie - my goodness - that gazelle is working wonders! Look at you!

Lisa - I hope your son isn't feeling that shot today. That's usually the worst of the tetanus shot - they hurt for a few days afterwards.

Debbie - wow - lots of time on the road these days. How long will you have to do that?

Mary - send that storm up here! 16.75 inches is fabulous! I'm so glad you're feeling well.

Karen - I overslept too, after I got up early and realized my head was caving in. Not sure why I got up and came in here -- oh ya, I guess because I have stuff I need to do!

Nancy - that should be fun, making scenery for the train.

Justine - I had veneers that I paid a lot of money for and I ended up breaking every single last one of them. I never recommend them to anyone. I say go for the crowns.

Ice - we could use rain so badly. Sounds like you're in for another busy day.

Well kids, I'm gonna get a few essentials done and then I think I might head home. I'm not even sure where I am right now.

My last day of vacation today.... graemlins/sobbing.gif But I am all alone...yippeee, dh went back to work today, and I have the house to myself. I got up early. I am doing laundry, picking up the house and going through cupboards. Getting rid of those tons of coffee mugs and crap that just seem to accumlate. I also got rid of a huge set of dishes to make room for my new (old) FireKing oven ware dishes that I got at a auction last weekend. I have them all washed and put away. I am also all planned and packed for my ww meeting tonight. Now I think I will shower and go to the grocery store. It is raining outside so I don't have to feel guilty about not working in the garden and yard.

You all have a wonderful OP day.

graemlins/wave.gif Good morning y'all! Went running with Joey last night, after a grueling 1 hr circuit training session. I was wiped out! Think I'll just run this afternoon! My knee is doing better everyday. Joey has soccer tonight, but I'm hoping to be home and to do chat. See y'all later!

Bizz-Sorry that you are at the slow time of the month. Tomorrow will be better! Oh Wait! It is tomorrow, for you! LOL LOL

Tina-Better for your tulips! They love the rain, don't they?

Cinna-I'm soooooo ready for a little cooler weather!

Jane-Yes! Wedding are fun, but only when someone else is giving them! LOL I'm back to running, but I can't believe how much ground I've lost in just 4 weeks.

Mardee-My sis called me from River Bend last night! She took her 16 yo DD to see James Taylor! I could hear him singing in the background and was really wishing that I was there.

Cheryl-Enjoy your book! He is so funny.

Grace-I'll swear that I'm gonna sprout feathers someday! WTG!

Charlie-Keep on Leapin! Ribbit, ribbit!

Lisa-The White Rock Half is a Half Marathon, run in Dallas every November. Jane and I are going to run it (slowly) together.

Debbie-Where in TX do you live? I'm in Friendswood.

Mary- I LOVE YOUR ATTITUDE! YOU GO GIRL!

Karen-Hope you get some good rest.

Justine-Where in Houston, are you? I know what you mean about work!

Karen-Glad your weather wasn't any worse! Tell the boys that we said, "Howdy!"

Prayers, love, hugs and ********{SV's}}}}} to all! Have a great OP day y'all!

Linda, sorry to hear about your headache. You were right about not knowing about the fat, I would have gone home happy! LOL!!!
Jane goodness, I hope the weeding gets planned easily. I would share the rain any time, but it is not as plentigul as usual. Hoera!!!!
Mardee, I bet those grades will be just fine!!! You worked so hard!
Nancy enjoy the game!
Becky sorry your vacation is over.
Sal, no tulips now. They grow in the spring. But the rest of the flowers love it, I guess. I am no gradner. I do notice the the flowers that are blooning die faster after they have been rained on, which is too bad.
Cheryl enjoy your book. Ia m reading the Great Gatsby with BCB, but I am having a hard time getting into it.

Heya Fabs graemlins/wave.gif

Only working a half-day today since the tree guy came by this morning to take a look at my oh-so-dead aspen in front. Well, it's got to come out (but I knew that already). I also had him take a look a the two big trees in the back. On is a maple which has some smallish dead branches that need to come down. I didn't know what the other tree was but it's been dropping branches - good sized ones too - ever since I moved in. Turns out it's a cottonwood and since they need mucho water, whole sections of it died out from the 6 year drought. Since one VERY large dead chunk overhangs the house I was getting increasingly concerned. So he's going to cut the deadwood out of that one too. Fortunately he says that the tree itself is in good shape, but that it will always be sensitive to drought conditions. That I can live with smile.gif I was worried I'd have to remove the tree. So I girded my loins and asked the big question in a small voice: How much? $425!!! Which is so much less than I expected that I can hardly believe it! Hurray! And that includes hauling all of it away :D I may drag my brush pile around for them and see if they'll take that too. Downside is that it's going to be about 6 weeks before he can get to me. As you can imagine, after this drought his business is booming.

And then I will have a whole lovely section that I can do some full-sun xeriscape, hummingbird-attracting plants, plus irises along the fence

Well, I should get back to work - since they're paying me and all ;)

See you wacky peeps at chat!

Hello every-one: graemlins/wave.gif

Well it's another hot one here again today. I really enjoy the heat but the forests are sooo dry here that we really need the rain. No thunder and lightening just rain. Maybe this weekend.

Well my at home weigh in was this morning  I stayed the same I know that it's better than a gain but I have been totally OP and moving. Gosh I just want to get below 130. It will happen eventually, I just have the personality that wants to have things RIGHT NOW!!LOL

I am having alot of fun researching smile.gif Motels on the internet. It's kinda fun to go to the ones that are just a dream and pretend but then I bring myself back to reality and lood up the ones that are in our price range. So far I think its going to the Best Western in Squamish. Not sure  if we are going to stay in Vancouver or not yet. Would like to take DD to the Space Centre and the Aqarium there so we will have to see. I have DM looking into ones in Keremeos and as there is only two the choice should not be difficult.

Bizz: Our internet hook up used to like that what a hassle it was.

Tina: Does it usually rain alot in Holland? I guess I should know this from school just memory fails me.

Cinna: Low 90's man that is our highs here.

Jane: Glad to hear the retaining walls are going up smoothly this time. Remember BREATH IN BREATH OUT I'm sure the wedding will go just great but 900 people!!! Yikes.

Mardee: Hopfully youre marks will come back sooner than you think, wainting is so hard.

Cheryl139: Have a great day.

Grace: graemlins/thumbup.gif on choosing the chicken I really enjoy BQ. chicken too.

CharlieC: Have a terrific Wednesday the week is almost over.

Lisa: Funny the anticipation of something is far worse than the actual thing.

Frazzled: Shopping is really bad for me when I'm bored or just killen time.

chocolasaurus: I guess I have to start thinking the same way about metal monster and remember the inches are coming off.

Nancy: The train set up sounds like fun. DH wants to do a race car one we will have to wait and see tho.

Justine: Crowns and Veneers sounds like a long time in the chair for this patient. I would not be able to stand it the dentist is not my favorite person(nothing personell he's a nice man its just what he does)

Ice: On the run again huh have a great day.

Linda: I hope youre headache is better. The heat makes me feel sick some times to.

Becky: Enjoy youre day to youre self.

Sal: Have fun on youre run today.

Well I have some laundry and dishes calling my name so I'd best go and get theses things done. Hello to any-one that I may have missed today. Hope every-one has a terrific Wednesday.(Thursday for Bizz).

Morning all. . . oops good afternoon!

I had an all morning training this morning, so I'm just now checking in. Back from my couple days off.

Bizz: I just completed filling in my 3 week exercise minutes. Sorry I was kinda late this week.

I'm not going to write much cause I'm very tired and I'm probably not making any sense. We had a late night after a long day . . .

Well, the day is much better. It's amazing what a Zomig, two cups of coffee and lunch can do! Especially when lunch is Korean Spicy Chicken! I got back a half hour ago and my lips are still burning! I'm not sure how to count the sauce that was on it -- didn't look very oily, but I'm sure there was a bit in there. The rest of it was like the red hot pepper sauce that they put on the table in the Chinese restaurants in the little jars. Whoooooowee! It was hot, but very good! I think I'm gonna live now. It's only 93 out - we must be getting an arctic blast or something! tongue.gif

Janice,
It rains quiet a bit, but not as bad as in England. In the summer the tempature is in the high 60's or low 70's. 4 or 5 hours a sun a day is a great day.
I knew nothing about Holland until I lived here.

Okay everybody, I am off to bed and OP. I saved 3 points, but could not exercise because of the pain. I did do some strechting exercises.
If I am awake at 3 pm  I will come and chat.

WOW, you girls with your spicy food! I don't know how you do it-I would have to break out the asbestos underwear if I ate that
I have to tell you all, there is a woman at H20 aerobics that has been on every diet(WW, Jenny Craig, Atkins, etc) and is now on the South Beach Diet. I had to laugh, 'cause the more she describes it, the more it sounds like a cross of Atkins and WW, in fact more like WW. She informed that it was NOTHING like WW  , so I just let her stew in her own juice in the jacuzzi.
