G'day babes graemlins/wave.gif
had a fantastic time on Saturday night with all the family over for Christmas in July graemlins/thumbup.gif Was saying to DH in the middle of the afternoon, can't beleive how smoohtly everythings going, there's usually some hiccup somewhere. Baked a few dozen spuds in the jackets in the morning and early arvo, with intentions of putting them back in the oven an hour before dinner to reheat and go crispy. We hear this big bang, well yours truly had forgotten to pierce a few of the spuds and they exploded  After DH cleaned all the mess up for me I put in the pupmkin and carrots to roast, about hour later thought I'd turn them around, well, open the oven door and the oven was cold.......... the element had blown.... Quite surprising I laugh and think oh well, poor DH is so stressed for me, and says he's off to buy a couple of electric frypans so I can roast the rest of the vegies, I said thanks but no, I don't want 2 electric frypans, so then he says he'll go buy a bigger microwave (as we only have a smallish one) well I don't want another microwave either, I hardly don't use the one I've got! I said no I'll improvise, and that's what I did, so I boiled the pupmkin and carrots, rotated the baked spuds through the microwave to try and reheat them (not very successfully I might add) the peas, beans and gravy that were all cooked on the stovetop were the only things that were hot!!!!!!! The 3 chickens that I had cooked the night before, I served cold and thank god I had cooked the 5kg (11#) topside roast in the slow cooker graemlins/thumbup.gif
After all that the meal tasted great, all the fellas went back for seconds, so can't of been too bad. Everyone thought it was a fantastic night and are looking forward to next years!
Have to admit I really enjoyed the christmas pudding and almond bread!!!!!
Now I've rambled on, I've gotta fly on out the door have a grouse one graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Drum roll please...............
I had a 1.76 lbs. weight loss!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh goodness, I know that someof it will be back this week, TOM is coming a callin'. But I will take it!
I am barely OP, maxing my points and I lose, go figure. As soon as company leaves I need to get some AP and some points banked.
I will do personals later.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH There I go again :D That feels MUCH better.
The visit is almost over, 2 more sleeps including tonight and I am about ready to strangle FIL !!!! His constant lecturing to myself, DH and the kids and disregard for his wifes mental health has driven me to leave the house so many times during these last few weeks. DH has a MAJOR amount of talking to do with his brother after we put them on the plane on Tuesday and boy it's gonna be ugly. LONNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG story but basically it turns out that:-
a) FIL leaves MIL alone ALL DAY Mon-Fri just to earn a few bucks gardening
b) If she says she doesn't want to eat, he ignores her. She is unable to prepare food for herself. We have built her appetite up ten-fold over the last few weeks by simply preparing food for her and putting it in front of her.
c) He lets her take the bus by herself to the local shopping mall OFTEN. This is the woman who can't dress herself, still can't find the bathroom in our house after THREE weeks, crosses the street without looking ( I have proven this several times over the last few days) and who told me tonight that she lives here in Canada and asked me this evening 'what's London?'
d) He YELLS at her constantly for forgetting stuff. Is this not UNBELIEVABLE for the spouse of a woman who is getting into the later stages of Alzheimers? DS#1 is SO mad at Grandpa and has more or less stopped talking to him as a result of seeing how he is treating his sick Grandma :(
e) He refuses to send her to an Alzheimers daycare centre coz it might 'upset her' I'd rather have her upset than laying dead under a bus :( He isn't taking care of her so its time to hand the responsibility over to someone else. DH is convinced that his Dad doesn't want to give up the money he receives for looking after her, only problem is HE DOESN'T DO IT.
BOY I am SO WORRIED about sending her home with him but will be chatting to DSIL on Weds or Thurs to prepare them for the ONSLAUGHT from DH.
Well, Sorry buddies, I had to have my say somewhere. I'm changing my WI to Mondays so today will be the moment of truth. I have to admit I'm not expecting good results but I am bound and determined to put my nose to the grindstone as of TODAY.
Hope everybuddy is doing ok
Take care

Good morning ya'll,
Yesterday was a lazy day. I didn't do anything productive. It was too hot to even go outside. Temp was 98 with heat index of 107. I grilled 12 hamburgers and put 10 in the freezer. If DH doesn't want what I fix, he can have a burger. Since I've been on WW, 1 1/2 years, he doesn't expect me to cook two different meals.
Time to get ready for work.
Everyone have a great day.

Good morning, everyone! The weekend seemed to just fly by -- why can't they be longer? I did get some stuff done this weekend, and also managed some leisure time as well. I visited a friend yesterday, who lives in an older house in the hills of Kentucky. It's a beautiful area, but I don't think I'd like living that close to the wild. I don't like dealing with that many bugs and other critters...
Just one personal -- Mandy, what your FIL is doing is bordering on criminal. Will your husband's other siblings in the UK be able to do something about the situation? Or is there any kind of social worker you could get in touch with? My heart goes out to that poor woman -- your post struck a nerve with me, since my father suffered from Alzheimer's.

Hi Buds,
First, let me just say that I WILL stick with my plan today!!! Ok, now that that's out of the way...
I've been continuing to work through the "going back to school" process in my head. I think I've got all the bases covered. It won't be easy (Mardee, I'm sure you can confirm this!) but it will be challenging, rewarding, and maybe even fun.
Bizz - Geez, exploding potatoes, cold stove, good thing you know how to improvise!!
Tinatulips - Congrats on the loss! Maybe you just needed to eat a few more points!
Mandy - Unbelievable! I hope something can be done to protect your MIL.
Cinna - Boy, I couldn't take your weather. I fall apart if the temp goes over 85!
Charlie - No frog today?? :D
Mardee - I'm with you on the bugs and critters. No thanks! Hey, any words of wisdom on the school/work thing? I'll need 'em!
Hi to everybuddie. I'll try to catch up with you all tonight. Have a great day!

graemlins/wave.gif Good morning y'all! Yesterday was was too busy for a Sunday. Shopping went well. We ended up at Kohl's and spent $247 in about 1.5 hrs. wooooosshhhhhhh..... There it went! LOL The boys got some great bargains! Bizz would have been proud! LOL We also drove down to Galveston to see the new IMAX, Bugs. It was kinda creepy, but really cool! Thought about you, Cinna! LOL LOL Anyway, back to the grind today and soccer tonight.
Bizz-OMG! I LMAO at you and DH. I can see him frantically trying to save the day and you just being calm, cool and collected! LOL LOL
Tina- CONGRATS ON THE GREAT LOSS! graemlins/bcbsalute.gif Repeat after me! "The top of my point range is ok! That's what it is there for!"
Mandy-Don't you be sorry for 1 sec, coming here to vent. We all understand and can not imagine how difficult it is. You hang in there and do what you can, but realize that you can only do, what you can do. Then, let it go. I'll keep your family in my prayers.
Cinna-My boys love burgers! So, there is never a problem substituting one for anything. Most of our meat is grilled, anyway.
Charlie- graemlins/wave.gif Hope yours was great too!
Mardee-Ahhhhhh, the hills of KY. Home sweet home. graemlins/sobbing.gif I miss it so much.
Grace-OMOHOD at a time, gf! You can do this! Don't stress over it and cause yourself more than it is worth.
Linda-Thanks for the short chat. I had to answer my cell phone and you were, poof, gone! Sorry, babe.
Prayers, love, hugs and ************{SV's}}}}}} to all! Have a great OP day!

HI fab 40s I hope everyone has a great week. I lucked out with WI and stayed the same after my trip to California. Now if I can just do that when I go to New Orleans for a week. I have hit another plateu but I am going to try real hard to get to 130 by the end of August that would only be 3 lbs but I lose do darn slow. However, I did buy a tape measure so I could see inches gone. I know one of my problems is that I never journal so I decided I would "just do it"as the leader said to us in the meeting on Saturday.
Cinna: I am going to ask my husband to grill tonight then I could freeze the leftovers. It is too darn hot to cook here in the heat.
Bizz: I am glad the party went well despite the little hookups
Grace: Thats great about your decision to go back to school. You can do it!!!! graemlins/thumbup.gif
Tinatullips: Congrats on WI graemlins/thumbup.gif Please send me some vibes I need them
Gram: How are you?
MNandy: I hope you have a good week and I bet your WI will not be as bad as you think
Lindalou: Did you ever see my post about the stuff my husband uses to refinish furniture. Let me know and if not I can email it to you again

Good morning, buddies! I'm just back from a run with my neighbor. I stayed the same at WI, but I guess that beats GAINING! It's just that I was so good and it didn't show! Today will undoubtedly be hectic at work, then I have to come home and finish stripping the wallpaper from my dining room before we have our new wood floors installed tomorrow (I don't want them to warp from the dripping stripper!)
The retaining wall guys have screwed up our back yard and have to tear out the last 2 rows of rock they laid. DH is furious at them. We told them we want the wall to look just like the rock on the pool, but I think they must be BLIND! So now we'll be even FURTHER behind in our pool project because of the retaining wall company. They've already cost us a week, now maybe another! I really want the kids to be able to swim before they have to go back to school!
Biz, what a great attitude you had about your mishaps!
Mandy, CALL Adult Protective Services in your state!!! It should be in your phone book. If not, call the child welfare office in your area and ask them for the number. What your father-in-law is doing is very wrong and he needs supervision to provide care for your m-i-l.
Tina, congrats on the great loss! Hang in there--HONK HONK HONK!
Cinna, great idea about the burgers. I need to do that for my kids who don't want what I fix!
Hey Charlie! Still sweatin' on your exercise equipment?
Mardee, it's nice to see that you're getting to relax a little.
Grace, good luck with your decision-making. I'm finishing (I HOPE!) my Ph.D. this fall and it's been really tough, but worth the work.
Sal, I sure wish I'd known you were going shopping! I would have given you a list! :D Glad you made it out so painlessly. . . . .
Stamps, gotta journal, honey!!! When I've tried to "journal in my head," I've gained weight. It's so important to write it down--hope that gives you the results you want!
I'm off now--
Have a great day!

Morning Buddies! I have the day off! :D So, of course, I'm up with the chickens! I got the house all ship-shape this weekend, so I get to spend the day sewing. It's gonna be 100 here today, so I am not going outside, except for a trip to the gym in about a half an hour. I really miss walking along the river, but it's so dang hot, I just can't do it. My computer guru never showed yesterday, so I'm still hooked up to the wire. It's okay though. I have the notebook on the keyboard tray of my computer table, so it's really comfy to sit here and type!
Biz - what is it about holiday dinners? tongue.gif My friend once dropped the turkey on the floor and the stuffing sprayed all over the kitchen! Sounds like you had it together though. We women can handle anything!
Tina - way to go on the loss! Sometimes I think the gain/loss waits a week before really showing up. I hope you're having a good time with your company.
Mandy - my goodness, what a predicament you're in! Is there a way you can notify social services in London about how your FIL is not caring for your MIL? That's really abuse. Sounds like you all are being abused for your hospitality too. I imagine your DH is so disappointed.
Cinna - no yard work for me either lately. It's been over a month since we've had any rain, so all I do in the yard is move the sprinklers. I don't even care about the weeds. At least something out there is green!
Charlie - did you have a frog for breakfast? How many points are they?
Mardee - thank goodness I made my weekend longer. I really needed an extra day. I love living out in the wilderness. Every once in a while I get to house sit for a friend who live out along the river surrounded by nothing but trees. It's so peaceful out there!
Grace - planning is oh so important. Good for you for committing to stick to it!
Sal - I had mega laundry to do, so I signed off. I figured you were either on the phone, tending to the kids, or doing something else productive! Now that the house is spiffed up, I may have more time to be on AIM.
Sue - yes, I did get the message about the Minwax. I'll give it a go. My niece has been cleaning my walls, so I'm almost ready for stripping and painting. I will, however, be waiting until the temps cool at bit.
Jane - sometimes I wonder how some of those guys get their contractors licenses! Good luck on the wallpaper. I remember stripping the stuff off my grandmother's house and it was horrible. Of course, she had about eight layers of the stuff on there!
Mary - I think I'll take my swimsuit to the gym with me. Ladies day in the pool and there won't be too many people in there during working hours! Yippeee!
Well, lots of exercise and sewing to do today. My biggest job will be trying to stay cool!
Love to all,
Linda

Grace, the only words of wisdom I can offer that enabled me to successfully combine work and school are to...
PLAN AHEAD!!! Seriously, that is what worked for me, both with my schoolwork and with everything else. I used the MS Outlook calendar, but you can use any type of planner, and schedule EVERYTHING, including study time.
Another reason to have everything down on paper (or computer, as the case may be), is that eventually there will come a time (probably more than one) when you start to panic, and realize that you JUST CAN'T DO IT! It usually happens around exam time, but may also happen when you have a big project or paper due. THAT'S when you pull out your calendar, and you look at it -- and you realize that it's not as bad as you thought. Somehow seeing your schedule in black and white makes it a bit more bearable. Seriously -- it really does work. I still go through those panic attacks, but looking at my calendar always calms me down. smile.gif
What school are you going to?

Hi, guys. So another week at work, hopefully a little less hectic than the last 2.
I ran out of journals at home, I created my own that I like better than the one they give out at meetings, so I had to find it on my PC at work and get it printed to take home with me. I've been very sloppy journalling lately. At the beginning of the week I fill in the 'broad strokes', which I can do because I plan my week's lunches and dinners out ahead of time. However, I got sloppy in going back and entering the changes and extras. I'm giving myself a slap on the hand right now. I think this might be why my weight doesn't seem to be moving much lately. I need to pay more attention to what I'm doing.
Does anyone out there do WATP tapes, the 2 mile and 3 mile ones? Do you count them as moderate? I know the only way to know for sure is by pulse rate, but I don't have a heart rate monitor and I've never been able to find my pulse during exercise. Heck, I have a hard time finding my pulse while sitting still, and I'm not kidding.
Bizz: I'm surprised you didn't fire up the BBQ. It would have been a very easy way to reheat and/or roast the veggies. Just wrap them up in tinfoil, throw them in the BBQ, close the lid and away you go.
Tina: Congrats on the WL!
Mandy: I'm so sorry for your problems. I hope you get something figured out for your MIL.
Ooops, there goes the rest of my personals, I just got a reminder that I have to jump onto a conference call. Hope you all have a great day.

Morning to my Fabulous Buddies graemlins/wave.gif
Feeling a little better today. It's amazing how much worse a summer cold can make you feel, compared to a winter cold. (Or am I just imagining things???)
Been off my walking since Friday, so am feeling out of sorts. Will try to get out this afternoon once the heat of the day is gone. Spending much of my Day at home doing chores and watching CNN re: Death of Bob Hope. Also checking into boards as well. Not much else is new other than trying to shake this cold.
Bizz-- Sounds like your Christmas in July celebration was a big hit. What we may think are potential disasters usually turn out to be the best parties in the end.
Tina--Many congratulations on your loss. Keep up the good work--you are doing something right !!!
Mandy--So sorry to hear of your experiences with visiting in-laws. Really hope that the children are able to come up with a solution to give everyone peace of mind.
Cinna--How long do these summer temps go on for?? Is this a normal summer?? Sounds mighty hot to me. We can get pretty warm here at times, but never for more than 2-3 days.
Charlie C.--Hope you have a great day
Mardee--Despite the critters, hoping you had a great time
Grace--More Power To You Girl !!!!. Here is an "injection" of positive energy coming your way
Sal--Glad you enjoyed your shopping Expedition.
Lindalou--I hope you enjoy your day off.

Good afternoon,
I got my car to the shop, though they won't be able to look at it until at least tomorrow. Dh drove me to the airport to pick up a rental, probably for a week or two.
After yesterday's storms, we have cooler weather day and night. Maybe I'll catch up on my sleep.
Work today, band concert tonight, nothing really special going on. If I'd just gotten the lawn mowed we might be able to do a berry hike. Maybe tomorrow? Maybe I'll let dh mow!
Tina - I found I had to use most or all of my points in order to lose well. I also sometimes felt my body saved up for weeks and then dropped several pounds all at once, instead of dropping weight a little at a time. You do not need to feel guilty about using all your points, that is what they are for! I know we'd all like to say "I lost X this week because I did Y last week" - and we do - but the reality is, it's usually not true.
I hope everyone has a great OP day!

Hi Fabs graemlins/wave.gif
I'm eating my lunch at my desk today since I have to zip out of here a little early this afternoon for my eye doc appt. We have hit another snag in the Endless Quest for Decent Eyesight - I'd have to call Experiment #4 a failure. Soft bifocal contacts are comfortable (yay!), but I have trouble reading with them (boo!). So today I'm telling my oh-so-patient doc that I'm pulling the plug. We've been at this since February and I'm done. It's going to be soft contacts with reading glasses and a pair of plain ol' glasses for this presbyopic kid tongue.gif
Meanwhile, on my out-and-abouts today I'll be checking out The Firm with Fanny Lifter  That's Quest #2: Find An Exercise Bethanne Can Stand For More Than One Week.
(Quest #3 is The Search For The Perfect Self-Cleaning Litterbox - but that's sort of a permanent quest, more of a journey than a destination, if you know what I mean. Kind of like World Peace or meditation on a Zen koan. :D )
I did major cleaning of the kitchen yesterday. Dragged out the stove  and found the motherlode of dust and spooge! (If you don't know about spooge, it's exactly what it sounds like - gross stuff you find under and behind things. Usually moist or formerly-moist. Ick.) Cleaning under stoves is a once-a-year job in my book, but apparently it was a once-a-decade job in the previous owner's book
BIZ - Gotta love those little crises! Glad things worked out anyway. I've only blown up one potato in my life, but holey moley, what a mess!
TINA - WTG on the loss! Barely OP = OP. Eat those points sweetie, that's what they're there for.
MANDY - What a terrible situation! Sounds like DH's sibs need to step in here. Is it that FIL just doesn't understand do you think, or is it that he just doesn't want to be bothered? Either way, it's high time for England's version of Family Advocacy to get involved before she gets run over or burns down the house. Maybe Millie can advise you - has anyone seen her on the board lately?
CINNA BABY - Thanks for the e-card! That was very cool - I didn't know you could do that!
CHARLIE - no frog today, I notice. Did you eat an early breakfast? LOL
MARDEE - critters=OK, but someone else can have my share of bugs 4-ever!
Hey Everybuddy! GRACE IS THE BOSS OF HER EATING!!!
SAL - Paying money to see giant-side-of-a-building sized bugs? Are you insane?
STAMPS - Staying the same on vacation sounds like a victory to me! Would you have gained before?
JANE - Home destruction is such a pain, isn't it? Are you having real wood put in or laminate?
MARY - Laundry, PT and aerobics! You are so diligent gf!
LINDALOU - You make me laugh! I'm just like you - wake up 2 seconds before the alarm is due to go off.......but only on my days off.
DONNA CALGARY - you might try the WWCalc program if you have a PDA that runs Palm OS. I just love it.
KAREN TORBABE ROLLERCOASTER.....if that's your REAL name ;) - glad you're feeling a little better. I agree: there is something particularly evil about summer colds.
Kids: I am OUTTA here! Have a great OP day!

Hello Fabs: graemlins/wave.gif
Hope everyone is having a terrific Monday. I'm back at the scrubbing thing again. Only two more rooms and then the hall with the 10 ft ceilings and then I'm done YIPPEE!!!!! graemlins/crazy.gif
I went to a garage sale with DD yesterday and found a real buy. I have been looking for drapes to go in our bedroom for ages. Its so cold here in the winter I wanted something lined. Well lo and behold I found exactly what I was looking for. :D They are a light cream colour with small blue flowers. It also came with a bedspread and three throw pillows. It all looks like it is brand new and the total price was only $15.00. I will have to hem the drapes but for that price I can afford to pay some one to do this. I have to go and buy a new curtain rod but I'm going to wait for Home Depot to open on Wednesday and see if I can get a good deal there.
Well I'm feeling alot better today I think it was just to much sun the other day. DH was not to pleased to see I didnt have a hat or suncreen on. I just wanted to get a little colour but I guess I went to far
Bizz: Sounds like youre Christmas in July dinner was quite the adventure. I think I would have lost it.
Tina: graemlins/bcbsalute.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif on the weight loss.Sal is right it is ok to eat at the high end of youre pts. My range is 18-23 and I find it very hard to stay at the low end of that.
Mandy:I'm so sorry to about all your troubles with youre FIL. This is just another thought on this, and just what happened to us with my Grandmother. When she got very ill we all assumed that the DGF was caring for her but he wasnt. Was not even seeing to her basic needs. He also was very verbaly abusive to her as well. When this was found out we convinced him to put her in a Seniors home to live and he continued to live in his apt. To make a long story short it was found out later on that he had been suffering from Dimenshia(sp) and none of even knew it. I dont know how youre FIL health is but maybe it might be something to look into IMHO. Hang in there GF you are doing a wonderful thing for youre family.
CharlieC: Hope you and youre wife had a great weekend also.
Grace: I'm with you on the plan thing I know when I stick to mine things go alot smoother.
Sal: I havent even thought about school clothes yet thankgoodness I only have 1 girl.
Stamps1: Staying the same is better than a gain as they say.
Karen: Glad youre feeling better.
Well I hope every has a great OP day and hello to any I might have missed. I'm off to finish the scrubbing for this day.

I actually got to leave work at a decent time today. When I got home, there were a DOZEN men working in my yard--front and back! Apparently, the owner of the retaining wall company is scared of my DH! :D They've already torn out the part of the wall they needed to re-do and are re-building it right this time. They've also almost finished the walls in the front, too.
After I got home from work, DS and I went to Dallas to look at yet MORE slabs of granite for the kitchen and put 2 on hold. I really do need to make a decision soon!
Bethanne, we're using real wood, not the laminate so I do need to be careful with water on it, I guess.
Mandy, I didn't even THINK about the fact that you're in Canada. Duh! Sorry to have made such a simplistic comment. I do know, though, that England has a reputation for outstanding social work services so can you contact someone in the area where your in-laws live? The local hospital may be a good place to start for a referral to social services. Good luck, sweetheart!
Ellen, welcome back!
Mary, how much longer do you have to go to the PT? Is it still helping?
Linda, I LOVE getting up early on my days off--I get to enjoy more of the day that way!
Donna in Calgary, good idea about the journals! Now there's no excuse not to journal, right?
Karen, I agree that those summer colds are nasty--I'm fighting one off right now. Thank goodness for Advil!
Janice, your garage sale find sounds fabulous!!! DH and I really enjoy going to them and have tried to go to at least one every weekend lately so we might find yard furniture we want.
Nancy, sorry about your car having to go in the shop, but so glad you were able to get a rental for that time.
Donna, great to hear from you! Congrats on the 129--WTG!!!
Well, I think I'm going to try a little (shhhhh) nap before I attack the wallpaper again.

JANE You sure are right about needing to contact somebody in authority. I have spoken briefly with DSIL and she is now aware of the situation, she and DBIL had no clue. They are going to call us in a couple of days to sort this all out.
JANICE Thanks for that info. I have to admit that FIL's state of mind has crossed MY mind over these last couple of weeks. I am going to mention this to DBIL as well. I find him very OCD which is a sign of dementia. I have to say, to start off with he really isn't the brightest of chaps and I think that it is possible that he could also be losing his mind.
Well gotta go and make the FINAL DINNER Tomorrow it's back to light/non-vegetarian stuff (yes they are veges and he makes such an issue of us eating meat that it just isn't worth it- another sign in my mind that he is losing it too)
Take care buddies

PS If you hear a very loud YIPPEE!!!! tomorrow at 1755 PST coming from the direction of Vancouver Airport then it's me. graemlins/crazy.gif

Hi again, buddies!
Sal – I love Kohls! I can spend large amounts of money there very quickly too. Better NOT to go there!
Stamps – Here’s hopin’ you get to 130, girlfriend!! ****{SV}}} for ya' for the whole darn month!
Jane – You say “dripping stripper” I think sweaty almost-naked man!! :D Wow, your PhD! That’s great!
Lindalou – A day of doing what you love sounds wonderful! Give me a book and I’m a happy camper.
Mardee – Thanks for the tip. Now I’ll try to hone my planning skills (currently non-existent  )in anticipation of having a boatload of stuff to do!
Donna (Calgary) – I do WATP and I count it as moderate. It gets me going, but not to the point of huffing and puffing too much.
Lisa – Thanks for the “injection” of positive energy! That will be a big help!
Bethanne – Thanks for the reminder! I spent the afternoon at work muttering “I am the boss of my eating. I am the boss of my eating. I am the boss of my eating.” I got some funny looks, but I’m OP! Re: Quest #2 – I love Firm videos. I never get bored. But that could be because I have 23 of them!! Seriously, I do the same few all the time, and haven’t gotten bored yet. I love ‘em, and they work!
Janice – I stuck with my plan today, and feel so much better for it! I started on tomorrow by making doubles of my supper (roasted chicken breast and veggies) to take for lunch!
Yay on the loss, Donna (dachshund)!! Hope you escaped any damage from the storm!
Cheryl – Yikes, I’m just thinking it’s time to START with the car payments. I wish I were in your shoes!

Evening Fab 40's graemlins/wave.gif
It's been a week since I've posted due to our hectic out of control shedule. I thought things got a little slower in the summer. Birthdays, vacations, etc. even our weekend was unusually hectic. I made sure I kept up with journaling & exercising because it's making the difference for me.
Biz - Christmas in July :D Kudos for pulling it off under less than perfect conditions.
Tina - graemlins/bcbsalute.gif Way to go on the loss this week.
Mardee - It's been a long held belief of mine that weekends should be 5 days long, :D now if I can just convince all the employers out there...
Linda - Glad you had a day off, you deserve it. But I'm still totally jealous. tongue.gif
graemlins/sleep.gif off to bed for me... my internal alarm will get me up at 5 (sometimes 4 am) graemlins/ugh.gif Have great days.

Hi Ya Fabieez:
Wow! I feel like I've been gone forever. SO much catching up to do after just a few days. I got my second "official" work stoppage assignment today. Now I'm headed off to Syracuse, NY. I found a really neat suite at the Embassy Suites Hotel that has one bedroom and living area, office space, refrigerator, microwave, wet bar, jacuzzi in tub, complimentary breakfast delivered to room, and two modem access ports so I can log on and talk to my buddies! It also has a sauna, fitness center and indoor swimming pool. Every evening at 6:00 they have a happy hour and free h'ordrves and drinks (of course getting off at 8:00 every night, the only happy hour I'll get to enjoy will be Sunday's :( ). I think I could live in this lap of luxury for a while. :D
Just think, no dishes, no housework, no gardening, no walking dogs, being waited on hand and foot, no cooking, meals delivered perfectly, and just cross-stitching, reading, working out, and writing of my book (oh and chatting on my new laptop, I have to go buy on Friday). But I'll bet it gets old fast! At least I'll get to come home every three weeks for 2 days and my travel time home and back will be not be counted as my 2 days and I will get paid for both of them.
It seems I have been assigned as an Assignor Dispatcher and will be working in the repair center. Of course that could change by tomorrow; some of my friends have been getting a different assignment EVERY DAY! And, of course, the company wants us to report to our new assignment this Sunday! Which is extremely hilarious because as soon as we make travel and hotel arrangements one day, the next day we come in and have been reassigned and have to start all over. I am totally convinced that my company is being run by morons!
Nancy, I will know Friday if the doc will release me for plane travel, if not, I am going to look into that sleeper train - I have never been on a train, so that will be neat!
I have had a rough couple of days. My very first supervisor at GTE and a man whom I deeply respected as a mentor passed away Thursday after a long battle with melanoma, he was 66. And then yesterday another co-worker and long friend died after her second battle with breast cancer, she was 45. And then today Bob Hope (he lived a good, long time but will still be sorely missed!). Such a heaviness of the heart has enveloped me. And I'm still a little disoriented at times with my vertigo. But alas, this too shall pass.
Well, gotta go youngin's. I have so much to do and so little time if I am leaving on Sunday. I will try to stay in touch and will definitely log on as soon as I get to wherever the heck they end up sending me. Wish me luck as I head upwards and easterly. graemlins/crazy.gif

Gram, I don't know where you're coming from for sure, but Amtrak stops in Syracuse. Check it out at amtrak.com (http://www.amtrak.com) .
But you know, I really hope your head gets better so you are well enough to travel by air. I like my buddies healthy!
Mandy, I wish you well helping your ILs. It crossed my mind, too, that both of them need help and that FIL isn't intentionally neglecting her, he's just not as sick as she is. I'm watching my parents too. Last weekend I noticed how loudly they talk to each other. I bet they don't even know. It's how they cope with their respective hearing losses. Mom has hearing aids, but dad doesn't (and probably should). Dad is showing definite signs of dementia, but we don't know if it's normal aging or disease. It's tough watching them get old!
